They can be modified the fastest modified tesla plaid went 217mph flat out. The fastest 1/4mile pass for one with some weight stripped out is a 8.6@167mph. Ingenext has tuned teslas since 2017 now. Aem got bought out by Holley recently to form the ev specific tuning division now called Holley high voltage. They already offer ev specific parts. It's only a matter of time before it's common place. Also people have already done leveling kits, wheels n tires, campers, slammed a lightning on 24s etc. It's a truck afterall and just about anything can be modified. The aftermarket for vehicles isn't going anywhere just because instead of gas guzzlers which also use up to 20+ electric motors cobalt for the fuel during refining and batteries besides consuming oil to function. We're switching to near silent 3x more efficient faster, cleaner more sustainable powertrains using just electric motors&batteries. 👍🏻😎
@@4literv6 most car people like to work on their cars and build their engines as a hobby. It's a fun learning experience. There's an art to engines and building them which EV humpers don't seem to understand. There's not much joy in making a toaster faster. Ev's like that are only for the wealthy or high earners anyway. Also, that technology will be outdated in just a few short years like cell phones and other electronics. They won't age well. An EV made today will be a dinosaur in ten years.
Funnily enough, the TRX has 120 more HP. I always see this trend with Mopar vehicles, they throw in a lot of HP but don't move like some of the GM or Ford products.

I wonder if tires matter at all. It's a 7,000 pound truck with all wheel drive. He wasn't having traction problems. It would be an interesting experiment.
@notastreamer7992 my car runs a 10.04 at 137 nph and cuts 1.55-1.65 so no I don't think tires would help much at all. Also his trap speed was 107mph there's no chance this thing runs an 11 with only a 107 mph trap speed usually to run 11.99 at least in gas vehicles you need to trap like 115(ish). Also for reference my truck runs a 12.79 at 109 with a 2.0 60ft so I think his launch is pretty spot on it might cut at most 2 tenths off with different tires. In the video it looks like there is almost no wheel spin either

So I am not familiar with how these new EVs work. In my Ecoboost, I would spool up the turbines and launch... Is there anyway to brake+"rev" to cause a fast launch? I know there is no "RPMs" so that is where I am a little lost...
I wouldn’t think “hot lapping” an EV would have the same effect as hot lapping a gas burner. You don’t have to worry with the engine being hot, iat’s being up, etc. Seems like every time he takes a vehicle to the track he calls it a record?

An EV can be tuned for more power increasing performance. An example is the Tesla Plaid. Ford build a couple of High performance EVs. One the Wheel standing Mustang Cobra Jet EV and the other being the Mustang Mach E 1200. From an automotive magazine article. Contrary to belief, putting down the tailgate actually affects aerodynamics/drag in a negative way. Keeping the tailgate up creates a vortex in the bed of the truck that causes passing air to go over the bed. I believe this was tested on an old episode of Myth Busters back in the day testing mpg on trucks.

Nice passes though man, cool to see the ev content finally braking out on your channel. Any thought on throwing a few hundred poundsof sandbags in the frunk trunks storage well to get some weight over the nose and help traction on launch? Maybe drop the spare tire and play with tire pressure to? You know how to race after all and sneak out some extra tenths. 😁 Now sell hulk and use the $ to build a sick ass ev swapped awd fox hatch or new edge with a cobra bodykit that runs 9s silently. That you charge off of the sun and tow with the fastest st truck Ford's yet built that also runs off the sun. 👍🏻
So in the ev world.... if you connect a alternator to your main power source will it give you more power like could the alternator be a supercharger to the evs
