Malayalam movies dont have that much budget to promote not only in India, even Kerala. If some money left for promotion, it is added to make movie better.
Even after promotion, in Kerala, movie works on mouth to mouth promotion.
Jaan e Man, Thallumala, Romancham, etc were examples of that.
Even 2018 released, its first day collection was under 2cr from Kerala. From next day it is around 4cr

I cried multiple time during the movie and once it ended I wanted salute not just the film crew but the entire state of Kerala! Still get goosebumps when I think of the line 'Everyone is a Hero'. ❤

I watched 2018 yesterday. My family usually don‘t enjoy going to theatre but this time my dad took initiative and that was kind of a surprise for me. And about the film. In the first half the diresctor succeeded in attaching us emotionally with all the characters in such a way that within just few scenes and screen time wmi started to root for them. On the second half when we watch the suffering each of them go through i was weeping in theater like a child. I dont think any movie had made me cry this much after tare zameen par. And those who have the privilage to watch this movie in theatre please do watch. Trust me you'll never regret that decision

Direction, screenplay, background music, acting, beautiful people of kerala, wonderful place everything was potrayed so well! Must watch I must say!

From the time I watched this movie last week I've been telling everyone I know to go and watch this on the big screen. Undoubtedly the best natural calamity movie in Indian cinema and I'm very eagerly waiting to watch the making of this movie
This is what happens truly in our state in a case of disaster . We survived the floods due to our brotherhood and love for everyone. A Beautifully executed movie to all those who participated in the activites. I really pray all the people in the North to watch this to change their perception caused by an exaggerated movie . This is our story , the real Kerala Story( not exaggerated, nothing masala added , just raw emotion) 🥹🥹

Pratical Effects over VFX is also one of Christopher Nolan movie's most important point which is why we love his movies so much ❣️
This movie was PTSD inducing, we have lived through this. We re-lived the angst we felt back then, felt the gratitude we have for the helping hands. There was pin drop silence at the end in the Kochi theatre where I watched it, then the audience gave an ovation. People were in tears, tears of pain for the ones we lost and of gratitude for our fellows who stood for each other.
I was there in one of the flood sites while I was working as a site Engineer at Palakkad district of Kerala. There is a tunnel called "Kuthiraan tunnel" which was collapsed and blocked by mud and flood water. Some trees nearby that place were uprooted and we all were praying for our safe jouney. It was devastating. 😢
Kudos to the fishermen, lorry drivers, police, navy, safety volunteers and the youth who collaborated in the rescue operations. As the title says, "Everyone is a hero"..
Jude Antony Joseph nailed it. All the characters were amazing. A must watch movie in theaters. 👏❤️

there is a scene from the climax a chopping knife where placed! omg i was wondering at that moment how brilliant it was hats off to the writer .
It just hits hard when you yourself has witnessed all this so reliving everything that happened through this movie again was difficult

As a Malayali who saw the movie in the theater, this was when I realized that Kerala audiences don't even have to see who the actor is to praise the movie...at the scene where those fishermen went to rescue their friends, the whole audience fell in love with them even before we saw who the actors were...I still get goosebumps when I think of the theater experience...

I have only one thing to say - everyone has gone through some things for the past 4-5 years but things that keep you fighting have kept you alive... So try to give a hand to hold or a shoulder to cry as a support... In 2018 people of Kerala have done exactly that... It is as simple as that and mind you the fight is still on....❤❤❤✨️

Since this was our story, without loosing any essence, our director shot an amazing film giving full respect to keralites.. Some people say politicians weren't given that importance. My understanding is once flood happens and we are struck, then we are just humans.. No politics, cast, creed anything as such. We are always equal and helpful to each once such situation happens... Upper, middle, lower class, nothing of that sort... Even upper class lost their homes and blood relations that same is applicable for middle and lower class... But still politics also played a major role. Towards the end we are just human beings. Including me, I will say we forgot something called give and take respect. . Always had a feeling we are above all the others... That itself is a wrong thing... No one is above anyone...
Anyways this movie is a reminder in many perspectives.... I will keep this movie for myself and surely whenever I think or get overboard thinking I gained more than others, am surely gonna keep watching this movie as a reminder....

2018-Everyone is a hero is Definitely a must-see film. It effectively illustrated how even the most romanticised rain can be an uncontrollable force that claims countless lives. It was realistic to imagine and consider what people went through while clinging to life in order to survive the flood. Standing ovations were due to many situations that really gave viewers shivers. The background music added to the scenes' allure and stimulation. Like its story, the movie's generally well-done cinematography and top-notch visual effects merit special recognition. The theatrical experience is fantastic. Given the restricted resources available to the Malayalam film industry, the team made an outstanding attempt to create a movie that is on par with international production standards. Jude, you are awesome for making this movie. The togetherness of the people of Kerala is screamed out loud in this truly amazing film. Tovino, Naren, Lal, Asif , Kunjacko Indrans, Vineeth, Aparna, Tanvi, Vridhi everyone did a wonderful job
