Tevin Vezina I’ve never heard them say that Kisuke comes from a Noble family. Yoruichi comes from one of the five great noble clans but Kisuke was never stated to come from any noble family(greater or lesser)
Christopher Wilson yeah it’s a theory that’s wildly accepted among the Bleach community. It helps explain why those two were childhood friends but also why Kisuke is so ridiculously strong and resourceful for just being a shinigami.
Christopher Wilson idk. Lots of things were never stated in this manga/anime since the ending was rushed. For example, Kubo never even showed whether or not Kisuke was alive at the end of the story. You think if he had lived it would have been stated but it wasn’t until the light novels came out earlier. How come Yoruichi can use a cat transformation? Oh that was never stated either. See there are lots of specific things in this story that are never stated and only invite speculation. Yep, Mayuri will always be behind, but that isn't a bad thing when he is practically ahead of everyone else in the Soul Society in terms of intelligence. I do think Nemu is a superior creation though to what Urahara made, but regardless, Urahara did create it first.

I love the scene where he fights Aizen. Urahara "what are you looking at" Aizen, who is basically a god at this point "you, you interest me" Even if you are invincible Urahara is always a threat to be aware of.
Urahara asked Tessai "What is he?" When Tessai (Kido Corps cap) launches a high kidou spell and Aizen blocks it with danku and without incantantion. He also knows Aizen was an anomally.
Kisuke and Aizen are my favourite characters in Bleach. They just work well together. They are similar in personality yet different. They seem like two different sides of a coin. And they are without a doubt the two most intelligent characters in bleach. So their intellectual rivalry is interesting to watch.
Agreed. Kisuke had a little bit the edge on intelectual side but that's debatable. Aizen is stronge in raw power. They're both scientist with very different point of views.
@@davidlim402 Nah, its defo Aizen and Kisuke, and that's even sort of portrayed in how you originally introduce them. Kisuke seems to act like a bit of a goofball, but hes ambiguous and theres obviously something hes hiding, and it gets to a point where you kinda wonder if he is the villain behind the SS arc, if he isn't actually your friend, even though he served as a mentor for Ichigo. Aizen is a kind man, someone who is well known for his kindness and his refined skill. He is also a teacher and has served as a mentor to many of the lieutenants that were a part of the Gotei, and seemed to be an innocent victim when hes "murdered". Yet, rather than Kisuke being the villain the entire time, Kisuke is the victim of Aizens villainy. Something you would never have guessed by your first impressions of the two. Its after Aizens reveal that things become more clear. Aizen is smug and somewhat arrogant, though not without reason, and can be extremely cold. Kisuke is a bit of a goof and can actually be quite modest. Hes confident in his abilities but he is overly cautious and aware that even he can fail, despite the fact that he does his best to ensure he never does again. One is fine with serving the current system, knowing it keeps everything in place and allows survival and life, while the other wishes to change things and creating his own system anew.
I liked how Urahara mostly used others to fight against Askin, only stepping up himself when he had to. Very much in line with his puppet master sort of personality.
What is crazy and what I love about kisuke is he is a great indicator for how strong an opponent is. For example, in the final arc when he goes bankai because of what Askin did and you knew it was serious instantly. For him to without warning no hesitation go bankai instantly tells you how bad the threat was of what he was fighting against. I love kisuke he is one of my favorite characters in bleach by far.
Kisuke: What you don't need in battle is fear. Nothing will come of it. When you counter, you don't let them cut you. When you protect someone, you don't let them die. And when you attack, you kill.
I like these kinds of analysis videos way more! People love to just focus on who is more powerful and who can kill who in Bleach and no one really talks about anything beyond that! Not everything should be about versus battles and power rankings and Zanpaktou abilities, hearing about character depth and story shows you have more respect for the series than many “fans” do
I love how he would only tell people the bare minimum of what they needed to accomplish the task. If he told them the truth they’d probably get overwhelmed. One of the best characters in the series for sure. One of the few multidimensional members of the cast. Aizen the Superman and Kisuke the last man.
I wonder about the crossing t's and dotting i's thing. I feel as if maybe Kubo wrote Urahara, Aizen and Mayuri as different archetypes of people possessing superior intelligence. Each differing by their highest value/goal. Kisuke as superior intelligence that have chosen to serve the world. Aizen as one that have chosen to serve his own ego. Mayuri as intellect that have chosen to indulge into itself, to serve the spontaneous curiousity and ideas that itself produces.
Urahara Kisuke is truly one of the most interesting characters in the series, but it´s a shame that he is toned down in the last arc. Anyway, you did great job with this analysis and I can´t wait to see another video.
Me to and I’m glad Kubo kept him as a anti hero kind of guy , so many fans wanted so badly for him to be the villain , and I’m glad Kubo didn’t go that route .
Ii I remembered correctly, Kisuke was worried when he sent Hiroyi alone to investigate disappearing souls (Wizard's scene), but Kyoraku calmed him saying he should have more trust in his subordinates. I believe Kisuke learned how to act like a true leader, captain and what it means to be a shinigami.
This is what I love about Bleach videos and that’s how long some of us can go on talking about one aspect from the series like a character, recently found your channel Tom and glad to see another fanboy from the UK 👊🏻
"Hat and clogs man" has always been my fave... shows a bit of the good side of a "mad scientist" messing with things that no one else would but with good intentions vs almost all the other characters that are "scientists" shown as crazy or power hungry or sociopaths (or all of the above)
If Urahara had seen Kyokasuigetsu, is it possible that his bankai could reconstruct a new set of eyes that would make him immune to the effects of Kyokasuigetsu?
The perfect hypnosis part of it makes me think that once it’s seen, like a spiritual virus, it spreads which is how all the illusions seem genuine to all the senses. While the eyes may be remade that won’t fix the underlying hardwiring of perception that Aizen’s zanpakuto does. At least that’s how I read it.
Hmmm interesting idea. I don’t see why not. Even if it was a “spiritual virus “, what’s to stop him from restructuring his riatsu in a way that resets things
@@elihuhefner Nothing. Pretty sure that’s why Kubo decided to keep Urahara and Mayuri away from Aizen for the most part. There’s no way in hell Mayuri is getting trapped by KS, and there’s no way for Kubo to write it in a way that doesn’t nerf him.
If we ever get another Novel I hope it is about Kisuke because he is really important to Kubo and he deserves it. He is my favourite Bleach character and one of my top favourite characters in anime.
The Humble shop keeper is a good front for a spy, assassin, mad scientist, master mind bad ass. Even tho he was banished he's still loyal to the soul society. They still use him as a contact, and a base of operation when they visit the world of the living. He for sure earned his way back into the soul society. Good info keep up the good work. I'd love to see one about Rongiku.
Urahara’s bankai was everything I wanted it to be but it would’ve been better if we’d gotten to see more of it. His character was wasted, all the unanswered questions still stand: How does he know so much about the soul king, his childhood, etc. Also, am I the only one who thought it was hella weird that he didn’t interact with Aizen once he was freed from Muken?!?!
this is from a year ago, but, right?! i wish we’d gotten some scenes of them interacting. leaving his fate like that unanswered, leaving the rivalry and their interesting relationship just like that, it felt so wasted. he didn’t even get to see yhwach. i wish there was a moment where he could’ve at least helped a bit in the final battle. would’ve been cool to see him and aizen working together, reality altering and manipulation of perception. hope the anime can at least fit in some of this.
I always assumed that Kisuke was once offered a place with Squad 0 considering he had seen Kirinjis hot springs and the Soul king. He also founded the Institute for Shinigami Research and Development. And we know making a significant contribution to Soul Society is what's required to become a member of Squad 0.
Here’s my thing. Leaving Kisuke out of the end was interesting to me, specifically because we didn’t know if he died, which leaves a sort of ambiguous ending and gives this emotional backdrop to this story, since it literally seems like no one that’s too vital to the story dies except Yamamoto, Unohana, and Yukitake, and while they are important and liked characters, I do think , objectively, that most people liked Urahara more than these guys.
and CFYOW came out a year later which for the most part ruined the stuff with Urahara, Grimmjow, and Yoruichi but well i guess it's fun to have them alive than dead i suppose
I've always wondered how kisuke was able to examine Tenjiros healing springs. He either had to do it while the dude was at the soul King's Palace or a while he was still in soul society. Either the man knows a way into the soul King's Palace or he's a lot older than we think he is.
Maybe there was a record of it & he studied and copied it or a hot spring left in SS b4 he moved up to the Zero Squad. Also since Tenjiro is the fastest Shinigami in the series he might have been part of the 2nd Division Stealth Core. I mean only Soifon & Yoruichi can flash step like him but he put Soifon to shame when he got behind her in a flash. Just speculation but it makes sense. Maybe Kisuke since he was in the 2nd Division b4 he became a Captain he learned about it there. Yamamoto is also super fast with flash step but he is OP in everything lol.
Urahara's trait of being unpredictable allowed him to meticulously plan all predictable scenarios, which, of course, made him a war potential for that reason alone. His ethos boils down to law and order and strict adherence to the inherent structures that maintain stability above all else. He's the ultimate collectivist and has very little time for individualism, which is subsequently the primary difference between him and Aizen.
@@coreythomas3633 I mean he looks at everything in terms of macro and thus he tried to influence events within that macro framework where he sees everything binding. This is very different to Aizen and how they see the Soul King for example.
@@coreythomas3633 I think Kubo did an excellent job with this character contrast between Aizen and Urahara. If you take Aizen, he's about hierarchy, which is revealed in his response to Ukitake and how there's a vacant space at the top. It's probably the reason why gets so angry when he asks Urahara how can submit to that "thing". Urahara imv sees hierarchy as something superficial, but instead recognises or at least sees things as interdependent in terms of how soul society and all worlds function, and it's a balancing act that's extremely fragile and probably why he accounts for so many scenarios.
I think Kisuke plays the Mentor figure as a whole with Ichigo's group. You see Kisuke telling Orihime to stay away from the Winter War before the War happens mainly because Orihime is a healer/shield, but also because Kisuke knows that Orihime is the Key to Vasto Lorde Ichigo who could feel if Ichigo is hurt, sad, happy extra. When you do Orihime's Please talk and discuss the Idea of Orihime being an Empath. Empath: (chiefly in science fiction) a person with the paranormal ability to apprehend the mental or emotional state of another individual.
Sajin Komamura. I know he isn't the most popular character in the series by any means, but he's been my favorite since his introduction. That said, he definitely got the short end in the since his fight in the Thousand Year Blood War. Though he has so much more depth than people give him credit for. He was the first to jump in (and get his ass kicked) by Aizen when the dude was in the middle of revealing his master plan. The man (or the anthropomorphic wolf dude turned human temporarily) goes from being incredibly calm, loyal, and wise to sometime having fits of passionate anger. Also, his special attack in Brave Souls and hearing him yell, "Kokujo Tengen Myo-oh... Dangai Joe!" gave me chills the first time I heard it. Though I'm biased. I love his Bankai.
He's a really noble warrior, and dangai joue is one of the most powerful bankai since Komamura cannot die using this when he has no malice in his heart.
I'd love to see your take on some of the Espada like Halibel or maybe even some of the Can't Fear Your Own World characters like Tokinada or Hikone. I love your videos and I'm really glad I managed to find your channel 😁
Kisuke is definitely one of the best characters, not just in Bleach, but in manga. He definitely is the type that deserves more screen time, but also benefits greatly from his lack of overexposure. It's kind of fun that he's still mysterious in so many ways, but also has most of the information needed to understand him out there. He's walking a fine line of just giving enough while still begging for more. And I do wish we got more. But, nevertheless, I am glad to have gotten the time with him that we have. I just wish the TYBW anime moved a little slower so we could get a little more time to flesh out the details and not cut quite all of the comic relief. I think it's been amazing so far, but a 10 to 20% pace reduction to really fully flesh things out, including time on Kisuke a bit more, would have been perfect. Thought, that's really a complaint that a 9 out of 10 isn't a 10, so it's a nitpick at most. I'm so in love with this series again and I couldn't be happier. I remember going back and watching the full original series right before the original anime ended, and I'm very happy to have all this additional content from it
Is it just me or does Kisukes Bankai seem more fitting for Shutara? Also interesting that Kubo said he wanted to draw Kisuke, Yoruichi, and Tessais past, its really downplayed but it seems lie Tessai is just as close to Kisuke as Yoruichi also this is a really interesting quote from the afterword from CFYOW; "-When Matsubara-san and I heard the story of Urahara and Yoruichi directly from Kubo-sensei, we immediately told him, "Kubo-sensei must draw this someday!" "We want to read it in manga form!""
Yeah, Tessai's probably one of the top tiers in the show, seeing as he's matched by Aizen and has trained with Kisuke and Yoruichi. Kubo also planned out Isshin/Squad 10's backstory in more depth.
Yeah Urahara is my favourite character, from since the beginning Kubo illustrated the whole ten steps ahead dynamic with the others very well I really wanted them flesh out the philosophical clash he had with Aizen,it would've been cool if they met and spoke in TYBW
I think that despite Ichigo being the protagonist, Urahara is the hero behind the veil. Ichigo was always just a calculated tool that Urahara utilized and that’s why he initially gave Ichigo his powers. Additionally, most of the arcs’ antagonists wouldn’t have been defeated had it not been for Urahara. He’s the puppeteer, the wizard the behind the curtain.
Kisuke, is in a league of his own...doesn't have multiple background hereditary powers, or a hogyoku fused within him....but can go toe, to toe with anyone....and most likely win. My fav...
It may not be spelled out, but I always thought Benihime's power in shikai was pretty clear. Since Kisuke is the master manipulator of the series, his shikai allows him to manipulate energy as he sees fit, which his bankai takes to the nth degree by letting him manipulate anything. This is another mirroring of Aizen, Aizen can control what is perceived, while Kisuke can control what is
I think Mayuri and Aizen see Kisuke as someone that's 'betrayed' them, rather than seeing him as smarter, I think it's more the 'focus' of their drives, Mayuri is as smart as the other two, but he seems to lack their drive/focus, Aizen was only focused on making himself stronger than the other shinigami, Kisuke pulled a batman and thought about how to resolve that situation. Also, Urahara definitely had less eyes on him than the other two
Here's a theory from my friend on how Urahara became the master of the Hogyoku before Aizen: Aizen back in the Turn Back the Pendulum (TBTP) arc manipulated Urahara into using his hogyoku to treat the Vizards. In chapter 401 Aizen said he knew back when Urahara tried to reverse the hollowfication of the vizards that it's power wasn't to control the boundary between hollow and shinigami, because if it was they wouldn't become complete vizards. He doesn't explain why they wouldn't become complete vizards if the Hogyoku's power was to completely control the boundary between hollow and shinigami, but it's probably due to the fact that if it did Urahara would have simply reversed the hollowfication and turned the vizards back into regular shinigami. Reversing the hollowfication is what Urahara wanted to do anyway as he said so in TBTP Arc. With the Hogyoku's true power, the wish granting, I'm guessing that wouldn't be possible, because that power is limited by the power of the soul it's changing. Urahara knew the Hogyoku's true power wasn't manipulating the boundaries between the two races. So what would he do experiment in the next 100 years from TBTP arc? Experiment to figure out it's power. There's a hint that this happened in chapter 402, Aizen said that Urahara couldn't control the Hogyoku. Urahara says "That's right. At the time." So what does it take to control the Hogyoku? Ginjo in chapter 432 explains that all matter has souls and that with tools you've grown accustomed to, you can demonstrate a greater power than your usual self with it. When that happens he says you've understood the soul of tool. He explains that the souls of things are equipped with the ability to help their users by nature. So to control the Hogyoku he has to understand the soul of it through becoming accustomed to it, so he had to use it. So how did Urahara know that the Hogyoku was alive? He probably figured the Hogyoku was alive the same way Aizen did. In chapter 401 Aizen said to Isshin "I'm saying the Hogyoku has a mind of it's own." "I don't fault you for not realizing it, I only realized the truth about the Hogyoku after I became it's master." There's evidence in chapter 421 Urahara knew the Hogyoku had a mind, Aizen said his power was disappearing and Urahara replied "That's...the will of the Hogyoku." If Urahara knew the Hogyoku has a will, he knew it has a mind. How did he know the Hogyoku's will? Why would Aizen evolve, then lose his powers? Because Urahara was it's master at that moment, he willed that to happen. Urahara seemed to have known at the start of the battle Aizen would lose his powers. He explained to Aizen in chapter 421 he shot a kido seal with the level 90 kido into Aizen when he was the most vulnerable. He then said "it's finally activating", because Aizen's power had weakened. Urahara said in the same chapter "Hogyoku is saying...it doesn't recognize you as it's master." How would he know Aizen's power would weaken and that it didn't recognize Aizen as master, because Urahara was the master.
I never understood how Kisuke could just waltz into the Maggots Nest and free Mayuri when the authorities thought he was so dangerous that he was the only prisoner in chains.
The most interesting aspect about him is his moral ambiguity imho. There are theories that he was going to be the last true big bad and a shade of this was in the light novel 'Can't Fear Your Own World' were he pleads with Yoruichi to punish him should he cross the line into outright villainy. She responded by threatening to snap his neck if he did, thus also highlighting the apparent falling out they had after the war. Yup, he's a deceiving badass but also humble in his own strange way.
I kind of got a different vibe from their interactions in that scene. Kisuke stating that he felt Ichigo would the better option to stop him, because Yoruichi has a deeper bond with him. Kisuke says to her: "You're not impartial". He even states that she would be on his side no matter what anyone says. Yoruichi is exasperated by this, but she doesn't outright deny his statement. Sure, I do think them having some tension following the battle with Askin makes sense, but the fact that Yoruichi was willing to abandon her life in SS to save Kisuke and Tessai is a telling sign where her loyalty lies. Plus, they were going to go and help Ichigo together at the end of the novel. I guess we will see what their relationship is like in the Hell arc.
@@jrgenvellesen7800 Truth. I've noticed on Reddit and other forums that when it comes to Kisuke and Yoruichi there are those who acknowledge them and their accomplishments, but do not glorify or admire them on the basis that they were once assassins who have more blood on their hands than Aizen.
@@manuelacosta9463 I think that is a good way to view them. Kisuke is a better person overall then Aizen, but he has a darker side to him that is always lurking under the surface. As for Yoruichi, she much like the other important members of SS are determined to maintain the current world, even if she dislikes what the nobles are and do with their power.
@@jrgenvellesen7800 Indeed. With Yoruichi the silver lining is that she admitted that their system is flawed and does create monsters like Aizen and Tokinada. Time will tell, but as has been stated a world maintained via lies, secrecy and murder can only go so far. Yes Soul Society has lasted but the cracks are forming, we saw the truth about strong Shinigami being cast into hell took everyone by horrified surprise. This could be the last waltz per say.
@@manuelacosta9463 Oh yeah. I think the Hell arc is going to be where Soul Society finally has to confront their hidden darkness. Every enemy in the story were created because of the broken system the Soul Reapers protect. Aizen, Ginjo, Yhwach, Tokinada and now Hell being unleashed, are all the result of the sins of the SS. It would be quite poetic if the 5 Ancestors are in Hell themselves, after what they did to the Soul King.
i only started bleach about a month ago, and i find your videos just yesterday. its almost as if someone planned it... either way, love these videos and im looking forward to the future!
I do remember in the deicide arc it was said that urahara's hogyoku was also imperfect and it was the effect of both hogyoku's that created the vizards, kisuke also does say that his knowledge of the hogyoku in the past arc was imcomplete as well
Correct, people often forget that the hogyoku that exist today wasn't possible without Aizen, Urahara's version was incomplete until Aizen fused his failed one with it creating the true hogyoku. Aizen also was the first person to actually truly understand the abilities of it, way before Urahara did, and I think his knowledge as a result is deeper on that subject, afterall he did subjugate it.
@@Ephideltrance yeah in all honesty they both have roughly the same level of intellegence, with urahara edging aizen out slightly, its just that aizen has no close attachments to anyone so he cant properly gage himself in regard to others so when he meets someone who can rival him in a specific field or skill/ability he doesnt know how to react so he either calls himself a god or imagines himself to be soley inferior as he doesnt even attempt to outsmart urahara amd completely loses his mind when ichigo surpasses him
@@cameronjones9092 yeah Aizen did go a bit crazy, I also think it was poor writing due to how powerful Aizen was written. But I can see why he got so overconfident when he fused with the hogyoku. Funny thing is if Aizen had remain cautious and level headed, Ichigo and Urahara wouldn't have won. Urahara basically said that much too.
@@Ephideltrance yeah very true and i do agree that kubo writes his villains way to strong at times, personally i think ywach suffers the most from this
@@cameronjones9092 yeah Ywach power was insane not just for Bleach standards but anime in general. I mean he was so powerful it felt stupid that an arrow and a slash did him in.
I like how Urahara is basically 2nd protagonist of bleach. Like we had past arc dedicated to him and there are key moments through out anime for his character Also when aizen was defeated it wasn't just ichigo's victory it was also completion of Urahara's arc
Urahaha has to be of noble descent. His backstory could possibly be hidden not only to us fans, but in the Soul Society as well. He seems to be someone whose prescence isn’t acknowledged, because he might be a rebellious heir, or he’s the Neji Huga (black sheep) who isn’t recognized to a degree and has to settle for less.
I remember one time in the last arc when the Quincy invade the Hueco mundo, Kizuke is setting up his computer and using a slab of rock as a keyboard, how cool is that.
I like to believe Urahara never tried to get close to Ichigo or his Friends while Ginjo was around possibly because of Tsukishima, but mainly because not knowing what Ginjo has told Ichigo, what difference would Urahara make confronting him and telling him that Ginjo is the one who can't be trusted? It makes more sense then that Urahara, being a master manipulator who would prioritize trying to get Ichigo's powers back as effectively as possible instead of wasting time partaking in Ginjo's little Trust War against him, because if they couldn't restore Ichigo's powers, sadly it doesn't matter who had convinced Ichigo of whatever lie. Essentially, Kisukd being a very practical man, played the long game and proved his innocence by playing an active role in getting Ichigo his powers back rather than potentially causing a major disruption with Ginjo and Tsukishima who are clearly up to no good but only seem to resort to violence when pushed into a corner.
Kisuske never fighting in a 1v1 situation I think exemplifies two things, 1) He grew up around the 2nd division and the Stealth Force. He isn't interested in a fair fight or a fight at all like say the 11th. His goal is to kill his enemies and he will take any advantage to do so despite being one of the more powerful characters in Bleach. I think it also speaks to his intelligence and planning. He wants to leave nothing to chance and maximize his ability to succeed in a mission. Fight with multiple members against one opponent does that, especially when his main teammate specializes in incredibly fast attacks that can catch enemy off guard if they foolishly believe it is a 1v1. So personally I would have liked to see Kisuske fight more on his own to get a true gauge of his ability, it makes total sense why he would never choose to do so.
Also for Kisuske's shikai my head cannon is that it works similarly to his bankai but only with Reishi. While his Bankai can restructure anything made of Reishi into anything else including matter. I believe his shikai allows him to construct and deconstruct Reishi of anything his blade touches, within limits. This would explain his ability to nullify Yami's attack but also why Benehime is seen as incredibly versatile. We can see Benehime used to create a crimson barrier that has block a punch from Yami, as a well as Ichigo's Getsuga. We have seen it fight an arcing energy slash which appear to match Ichigo's Getsuga in destructive force. We have seen Kisuske use it to form a crimson red energy net that he uses to bind enemies as well as creating exploding orbs of energy. We have also seen him nullify a Cero. That is my personal head cannon, Benehime can construct and decontruct Reishi. It is limited and is catalyzed through the blade (meaning to deconstruct anything blade has to touch it and all constructed moves must be attack/original from the blade.) This would mean his Bankai is just a "power up" allowing for the construction/deconstruction to happen within an area of effect and rather than limiting construction to just energy, he can construct/restructure Reishi into physical matter as well.
Kisuke saw Karin and said, "She is motivated. Can't let this Quincy/Hybrid blood go to waste." I'm assuming Ichigo is the only Hollow Hybrid in his fam and his siblings are just Quincy/Human/Shinigami. Always wanted to see the duality of their potential. Hopefully in the New Manga.
the only thing i can't agree with is that when he is silent to hiyouri it proves that is his plan. being silent does not answer anything it is quite literally not answering the question .
What frustrates me about Urahara's role in the entire story is that we never really see his perspective a lot, bar for a few times. Whatever we see, we end up feeling like he is some sort of sociopath who happens to be in the side of humanity. But there is clear emotional depth to him with as we see in Turn Back The Pendulum and Can't Fear Your Own World. In the former, he is trying to find his footing, in the latter, he's burnt out. And we don't get more than that. Aizen wanted the Hogyoku just to understand how far he could push his limits and if he could become God. Was Urahara's motivation the same? I don't think so. Urahara is more solution oriented, so power for the sake of power doesn't suit him. It is implied that Aizen saw the Soul King after he created the Hogyoku. What if Urahara came to know about the Soul King first and then created thr Hogyoku as a response? And also, is there a Blueprint both referred to create the exact same thing? Kubo made me ask a lot of questions without giving me any answers. Ugh. I both love and hate that mangaka.
At first I couldn’t comprehend or want to accept that there was someone smarter than Aizen in Bleach lol, but after your video, I’ve came to accept it now. I like how you noted that they are two sides of the same coin and that a duo of them fighting together would be terrifying. I’ve gain a who.e new respect for Urahara

Urahara "what are you looking at"
Aizen, who is basically a god at this point "you, you interest me"
Even if you are invincible Urahara is always a threat to be aware of.
I always thought mayuri and kisuke were the two sides of a coin
@@davidlim402 Mayuri's opposite side of the coin is probably Syarellaporo.

That's fantastic to hear :)
Not everything should be about versus battles and power rankings and Zanpaktou abilities, hearing about character depth and story shows you have more respect for the series than many “fans” do
You know Kisuke stays blazed on that Soul Society Kush
Anyway, you did great job with this analysis and I can´t wait to see another video.
at least we got to see him fight and use his bankai
I never saw Kisuke as grey. I always see him as a hero/good. Even when his allies are endanger I rate him above Aizen in planning.
Ukitake- his character is very strange. Yoruichi- just very interesting
MrTommo: "His last appearance in the canon manga was chapter 666."

Urahara is basically the main reason bleach series is about lol.
Yeah, without Urahara bleach would only be around 10 eps

Would Urahara not be the most powerful character in the series? He constantly hides his true ability, and very rarely shows his full strength.
He was Never at his full strength ... In the anime nowhere close to it
He’s not weak, but his true strength is his intellect.
Similar to orochimaru..
P sure Kyoraku could defeat him

I always assumed that Kisuke was once offered a place with Squad 0 considering he had seen Kirinjis hot springs and the Soul king. He also founded the Institute for Shinigami Research and Development. And we know making a significant contribution to Soul Society is what's required to become a member of Squad 0.
He definitely would be a worthy candidate, I would rather he was still running squad 12 instead of that psychopath Mayuri.
Yeah I was rereading the final war and thinking it’s Noway he wasn’t offered a position in the zero squad based in what he created.
If Aizen is the Lucifer of Bleach, then that makes Urahara the archangel Michael. Which is fitting because he's the one who ultimately defeated Aizen.
That is the perfect analogy
Aizen wasnt defeated,he was temporarily halted
@@VbrSoro And Lucifer wasn t defeated fully.. he was "halted" and banned as well just like Aizen..
What you mean by collectivism
@@coreythomas3633 I mean he looks at everything in terms of macro and thus he tried to influence events within that macro framework where he sees everything binding. This is very different to Aizen and how they see the Soul King for example.
@@bradleywalsh8571 interesting
@@coreythomas3633 I think Kubo did an excellent job with this character contrast between Aizen and Urahara. If you take Aizen, he's about hierarchy, which is revealed in his response to Ukitake and how there's a vacant space at the top. It's probably the reason why gets so angry when he asks Urahara how can submit to that "thing".
Urahara imv sees hierarchy as something superficial, but instead recognises or at least sees things as interdependent in terms of how soul society and all worlds function, and it's a balancing act that's extremely fragile and probably why he accounts for so many scenarios.
@@bradleywalsh8571 I actually agree with aizen view point honestly
He's my favorite as well. I loved his relationship and fight with Tossen
I just loved Sajin, truly honoroble character, only true knight of all Captains.
He's a really noble warrior, and dangai joue is one of the most powerful bankai since Komamura cannot die using this when he has no malice in his heart.
Although he isnt very strong...maybe the 3rd weakest captain

Also interesting that Kubo said he wanted to draw Kisuke, Yoruichi, and Tessais past, its really downplayed but it seems lie Tessai is just as close to Kisuke as Yoruichi

"-When Matsubara-san and I heard the story of Urahara and Yoruichi directly from Kubo-sensei, we immediately told him, "Kubo-sensei must draw this someday!" "We want to read it in manga form!""
Yeah, Tessai's probably one of the top tiers in the show, seeing as he's matched by Aizen and has trained with Kisuke and Yoruichi. Kubo also planned out Isshin/Squad 10's backstory in more depth.
It's interesting to me that it is a recurring theme that he often avoids sharing important info with others.

A Yoroichi and Urahara spin off would be pretty cool. Also I realize I have no idea how to spell their names. Huh.
It's Yoruichi Shihōin and Kisuke Urahara.
So you're actually pretty spot on, there's just small insignificant spelling mistake.
hidden badass characters are some of my favorites, ishhin, kisuke, nimaya, mayuri, shunsui, etc.
Yeah Urahara is my favourite character, from since the beginning Kubo illustrated the whole ten steps ahead dynamic with the others very well
I really wanted them flesh out the philosophical clash he had with Aizen,it would've been cool if they met and spoke in TYBW
Theres no way he put that hogyoku into rukia to hide it from Aizen. He put it there to draw out aizen and clear his name.
Urahara is my favourite, his Minecraft Hardcore death was so funny
Well now he is building his own underground training basement
I think that despite Ichigo being the protagonist, Urahara is the hero behind the veil. Ichigo was always just a calculated tool that Urahara utilized and that’s why he initially gave Ichigo his powers. Additionally, most of the arcs’ antagonists wouldn’t have been defeated had it not been for Urahara. He’s the puppeteer, the wizard the behind the curtain.
Happy Birthday Kisuke Urahara.
Also, Urahara definitely had less eyes on him than the other two
If Urahara and Aizen worked together, they would've ruled the world.
Philza really said- “imma pull a pro hammer move rn”
I’m glad kisuke was never the villain .

I really appreciate your conversation about Kiske very well thought out
Here's a theory from my friend on how Urahara became the master of the Hogyoku before Aizen:
Aizen back in the Turn Back the Pendulum (TBTP) arc manipulated Urahara into using his hogyoku to treat the Vizards.
At the time."
So what does it take to control the Hogyoku?
I really enjoy your take on the series and your speaking voice. Top notch work, keep it up!
Let's not mention my jealousy at your bookshelf >_>;

Another nice vid bro. Love the vids so far
I never understood how Kisuke could just waltz into the Maggots Nest and free Mayuri when the authorities thought he was so dangerous that he was the only prisoner in chains.
Kisuke was head jailor, he was the boss

Kisuke created Ururu and Jinta before Mayuri even perfected Nemuri Nanago
I keep forgetting about that
He's the type of character that makes you think:
Oh he looks like a simple and good character.

I remember one time in the last arc when the Quincy invade the Hueco mundo, Kizuke is setting up his computer and using a slab of rock as a keyboard, how cool is that.
perhaps one of the best character in all of anime.
love your videos man. keep up the good work!
Juushiro Ukitake needs a video
can you do what if Kisuke was the mastermind in the Soul Society arc or in the fake Kurakura arc video? Please
Him and Itachi in my opinion are the same person just in different universes!
You should stop comparing Bleach characters with Naruto characters in my opinion.
Urahara & Itachi are nothing alike
@@kensmilepachi3313 this isn't a power scaling comment calm down
Bro....no...him and gin are kinda similar
should i trust this dude on his analysis on Bleach??
*looks at background*
Yep, I am at the right place for anything Bleach
It is limited and is catalyzed through the blade (meaning to deconstruct anything blade has to touch it and all constructed moves must be attack/original from the blade.)
This would mean his Bankai is just a "power up" allowing for the construction/deconstruction to happen within an area of effect and rather than limiting construction to just energy, he can construct/restructure Reishi into physical matter as well.
Kisuke saw Karin and said, "She is motivated. Can't let this Quincy/Hybrid blood go to waste."
I'm assuming Ichigo is the only Hollow Hybrid in his fam and his siblings are just Quincy/Human/Shinigami. Always wanted to see the duality of their potential. Hopefully in the New Manga.
Urahara is probably my defacto favourite character in the series
Urahara is the only bleach character i care about.
the only thing i can't agree with is that when he is silent to hiyouri it proves that is his plan. being silent does not answer anything it is quite literally not answering the question .
My favorite character. Good video
Kisuke reminds me of Pervy Sage
your channel is amazing
At first I couldn’t comprehend or want to accept that there was someone smarter than Aizen in Bleach lol, but after your video, I’ve came to accept it now. I like how you noted that they are two sides of the same coin and that a duo of them fighting together would be terrifying. I’ve gain a who.e new respect for Urahara
Hat and clocks has always been my favorite character
Yo man new subscriber love ur videos and keep up the grate work!
