But there's the Shelby Exception, that means when you pick up your phone to watch one of her videos it actually enhances the experience you are having.😀
Thank you my dear. My daughter is 24 on a different island in Hawaii than me and I miss her so much. I haven’t seen you for a while, (you tube is feeding me gunk) glad I looked your channel up again. Such nice videos. It’s been a dark time and you really Cheered me up. 🌸🌸🌸🌸
I am not a trucker. I stumbled upon your channel. I like your content. This video about the ferry and the video when you were stuck going up the mountain. Cool entertaining stuff, thanks.
Holy diesel breath Batgirl, you possess enough enthusiasm for half a dozen gals and I love it. People who suffer from depression need to watch your videos which are VERY well done. Shelby, Dakotah and BKM make a perfect team. Stay well and safe.
You were commenting on the system of loading and unloading. The way they do it keeps the ferry as level in the water as possible. Glad you got to get to Anacortes etc.. Keep up the good work.
She protecc She attacc But most importantly, She talk back (telepathically) 😂 Sorry, I know that was cheesey but I couldn't help it. 😂 More Dakota commentary please! A pretty major winter storm just hit the northeast so I've been off for two days. Back to work tomorrow. Keep doing what you do, Shelby. Stay safe out there! As Dave over at Smart Trucking says, "Keep the rubber side down and I'll see ya on the backhaul."
When you live here you kind of forget/take advantage of what you have in your own backyard. I’ve been on the ferry multiple times, it’s one of my favorite things. My husband had never been 😱 So I fixed that last summer. I can’t wait until I take him the the San Juan’s. Happy Trucking :) Stay safe.
Very good video. Driving on to the ferry kind of looks like driving into one of the tunnels getting across the Chesapeake bay tunnels and bridge. I agree driving to a lot of places is a very positive experience. Your videos are awesome!!
Cloudy days are actually a photographic blessing. Clouds diffuse the light making colors brighter. You lucky dog! Taking your truck on a ferry. Wish I could.
It may seem like it never ends. But thank you, BKM and Dakota for the experience, helpful tips, and laughter from the sayings you all give Dakota. I love watching your videos!!!!
Just fantastic!!!!!! The D Dog was hilarious. And at the get go when Shelby was forced to share her seat with her best friend squeezed in behind well that definitely is 'caring and sharing'.
Production quality of your videos is awesome! Your positivity is radiating and you are always sending out good energy. I appreciate your videos and I can't wait to see the next one. Thank you for all you do and helping keep this country running. 💜
Shelby, watching your videos have completely inspired me to go get my CDL. Ive always wanted to get a CDL but now I am actually doing it. Enrolled in SAGE trucking school in Montana a week ago! I cant wait to see more of the country over the road. Love your positive/adventurous spirit! Keep up making all the cool videos, and maybe someday I'll see ya out on the open road!
It doesn’t matter what you do as long as it makes you happy. To Shelby, this makes her happy and fulfilled. We need more people in the world like her. Tough, motivated and always a positive attitude.
Loved these two videos about the ferry ⛴ experience! It's so beautiful out on the water (but very chilly). I absolutely loved the camera work and beauty shots - thanks so much - it feeds my starving outdoor soul that is stuck in suburbia. I didn't know much about ferries until I lived on the coast of Maine. Portland Harbor has a mail boat you can ride as a passenger around the chain of islands, and you can hop off and on if you want to do a day trip and explore. Lots of summer homes on the islands as well. There are also ferries further up the coast that go to a couple islands further out, and there is a high-speed hydrofoil ferry to Nova Scotia that takes just under 4 hrs for the transit. One interesting tidbit is that you don't need to have registered vehicles on the islands of Maine. There are rolling heaps that'll be sitting by the docks to drive tourists to lodgings, pick up supplies, etc. that are missing chunks of bodyparts, bumpers, or lights, and it's perfectly ok. A bit freaky if you don't know about it beforehand! You get the smirk and eye roll from islanders if you're a newbie who politely points out a missing part... 😆
Loved this video Shelby. BKM always does a great job with the filming !!!! I did see your part 1 video Shelby and your filming was good, but your right BKM has that magic touch with the camera. I could tell you were a little excited about this adventure, but you have a right to be !! this doesn't happen every day for you and to get to capture that adventure on film is priceless and to actually share it with your followers is even more meaningful !!!!!!!!!! Like always Shelby, thanks for sharing and its always good to see Dakota in the videos along with her "comments". Thanks Shelby for what YOU do and also BKM !!!!!!!!!
I love the Dakota comments. Keep them coming. Also at the end of the video you said “this job never ends”. I can totally relate. You also have to remember that we are human and even tho we love our OTR it will burn us out. The term being in the seat to long is so very true. When you start feeling that way, it may be time to get out of the seat. Not just a 36hr reset but vacation time or an extended period of time off. To get out of the seat and reset yourself. We are after all only human. Keep up the awesome work it is very appreciative.
Lived in Washington my entire life and been a trucker here for 15+, and while I tend to forget how lucky I am to live around the water and mountains, taking a truck on a ferry NEVER gets old. Made me smile seeing you so thrilled to be doing that. Love the channel, and welcome to the Pacific Northwest. You're going to love driving here!
Nice video, Shelby and crew. The contrast between the sights, the freeways and the city is amazing. Says a lot about traveling the back roads whenever possible. God bless you and yours.
Don't forget to breath especially if and when you are tired or frustrated. I think you hit the nail on the head when you said you get paid to see the all the places that are on and in your trip. Enjoy your life along the way.
Its always good to stop and smell the roses in our busy life. Business never stops but you must at times just to keep you chin up to look forward. Live the vids as usual.
You are wonderful Shelby. I look forward to your videos all the time, you are such a joy and you make me so happy! Thank you for these videos. A very merry Christmas to you! ❤
That whole notion of travel is why I joined the Air Force I got to see so many different places around this country and around the world, so I have to say that I totally agree with your philosophy
Hey. That's the best advice u gave. I've been out here nearly 10 years otr in Canada and USA and I've done soooo much. Toured Seattle, took a boat to Vancouver Island, went to AK and HI both by plane and I love visiting the state capitol buildings and going on the tours.
Shelby, you are so cute, your enthusiasm is contagious, your smile, your sharing of different parts of your life with dakota. And the videographer. Have a blessed holiday. God bless be safe.
Dad grew up on the neighboring Lopez Island. It’s always fun to hear others excitement about the Pacific Northwest. If you found it beautiful in the winter, you will be blown away in the late spring and summer.
After something like 9 months living in a COVID restricted/locked down world, when opportunity presents itself take it, if 2020 is anything to go by, things can change really fast unexpectedly so take those opportunities when you can folks. Thanks for sharing the scenery Shelby, nice one, thanks also to BKM for staying awake to record it too. Stay safe out there!
Your comment about getting a paid mini vacation resonated with me. My first long hall trip went from Saskatoon SK down to Southern Mississippi, up to NJ via Taladaga, spent a day in New York city. Then back to SASK via Chicago. Crazy weather. Hot & humid in the south. Cold & windy in NY Loved it! Keep the videos coming. Very enjoyable.
And you get paid to see that scenery. It’s really nice to see someone who loves what they do enough to share with others. I hope you have the merriest of Christmas.
Watching your videos makes me want to go out and explore what the world has to offer. Very inspirational. Im not a driver nor in the industry but some of your videos make me think about becoming one. From a fellow Florian, great job! Your quote was one I'll remember for a long time!
Ya Shelby, I enjoyed this video. I'm not a trucker. I enjoy seeing you and Dakota travel the roads and show us the scenery. I'm sure there are plenty of us here that just want to see where and what you do. Be safe and be well as we celebrate Christmas and enter a New and better Year.
I drove semi for 35 years hauling big boats in the northwest... Many times I took my semi on the ferries with a boat on my semi. Was kind of funny, a truck on a boat hauling a boat. Very beautiful area.
Love the positivity - keep pushin with the new venture all the long hours and work pays off. Hopefully people got the message live in the moment and take in all the beautiful things that the world has to offer - there is no comparison of looking on a phone screen instead of seeing and experiencing the real thing
I have taken that ferry a few times, one of the coolest things ever. And this from a guy who rode a ferry everyday to Ford Island when I was stationed in Pearl Harbor, back in the late 70's, early 80's. Now there is a floating bridge!
Howdy!! This first video of yours I watched and it was filmed in my state. Awesome. I go to Friday Harbor about 4 times a year for work (I’m hardwood floor installer) it’s gorgeous out there, especially in summers. San Juan islands are packed with tourists in summer. Keep the rubber side down😎
Been on that ferry ride several times from Friday harbor to Anacortes as a local truck driver. Always get out and enjoy the scenery whenever you can! Always enjoy your content! Thanks for sharing, from one Shelby to another Shelby!
8:23 The ship/ferry in the view is a specialized landing craft. They work all the islands in New England too. Just put the bow on the beachhead and drive off your cargo, or deliver supplies. Very cool job.
Shelby, you are such an entertainer and your doggie is beautiful! I see a reality show in your future! You are so good at what you do! I am not a truck driver but I found your website by chance and I just love it! Be well, be safe, and God bless!!
Shelby I enjoy your videos so much! I did a run like this from Melbourne Australia to Hobart AU. We went through some very rough seas in the Bass Sraight. That was a long time ago but I will never forget it. Thank you Mam for what you do I am a senior citizen and want to give it one more go before I get locked up in a warehouse to die.
PS If you would be most gracious to reply my address is poco1959@yahoo.com. I consider you the daughter or granddaughter That I never had. and wish you all the best in life.
this was Great and you're right, you & the people that work for you guys (congrats on starting your own company WOW !!!!) are VERY lucky to be doing this for a living !!
Glad you got to see more this trip (or at least film it). Looks as beautiful as back in 2009. Loved the beginning showing a little bit of Friday Harbor as you were heading down to get on the boat. Such a cool little town!
I’ve Also been blessed with taking this same Ferry for my job. Its absolutely beautiful and I love it every time. There are some wonderful parks on that island, and those little shops at the ferry landing are definitely worth checking out when open (especially the wine shop).
It would be nice if you would show things at normal speed. I like to read all the Fwy signs & road signs etc so I can see where you're at. Also the off ramps, and fwy connections and where they go. In addition, driving on and off the ferry. What town was that? And the towns and city you went through?
Just saw you and the pup at that weigh station in Huntington Oregon. I was the lady in the CRE truck n trailer, broke down at the stop sign. It made me smile to see you.
As I said before, I took that ferry. You're right, you have to experience it and see it to appreciate the location and the trip across on the ferry. Your video helps do that for those of us worlds apart from the great NW. Great video. Merry Christmas to you and BKM and Dakota of course also.
The larger ferries in Washington state carry about 300 vehicles .glad that you had a chance to experience some of island of Washington be safe out their
Being busy is good, being busy while doing the work you love is even better, take it easy and enjoy it, have a safe one and enjoy the holidays, love your content all the way from Jordan.
"Every time you pick up your phone you are saying no to the experience you're having right now." I love that!!!
She is right. I suppose we all should never have picked up our phones to watch this video 😜
But there's the Shelby Exception, that means when you pick up your phone to watch one of her videos it actually enhances the experience you are having.😀
@@waynecallister2236 I could agree with that.
It is nice way to travel, but when you have a family it is a lot harder.
I LOVE the doggy comments!!! Crackin me up😂😂
a trick : you can watch series at Flixzone. Been using them for watching a lot of movies lately.
@Ezra Adonis Yup, have been watching on flixzone} for months myself :)
Thank you my dear. My daughter is 24 on a different island in Hawaii than me and I miss her so much. I haven’t seen you for a while, (you tube is feeding me gunk) glad I looked your channel up again. Such nice videos. It’s been a dark time and you really Cheered me up. 🌸🌸🌸🌸
Imagine two truckers passing each other at the truck stop..."Thank you, I love your hair" I had to laugh when I heard that. Only Shelby!
I am not a trucker. I stumbled upon your channel. I like your content. This video about the ferry and the video when you were stuck going up the mountain. Cool entertaining stuff, thanks.

You were commenting on the system of loading and unloading. The way they do it keeps the ferry as level in the water as possible. Glad you got to get to Anacortes etc.. Keep up the good work.
That's extremely important considering those ferries are 40+ years old

Sorry, I know that was cheesey but I couldn't help it.

Dakota's responses were especially on point this episode, and that's saying something because he's *always* so good. ❤️
Merry Christmas to you Shelby.
Hope you have a fantastic holiday season.
Dakota never stops making me laugh 😂 stay Shelby to you and BKM the scenery is amazing🌄.
I love how you smile every time you say “we took a boat”, like you’re reliving it in your head. 💕

I sure am glad that BKM translates for Dakota so that we get her perspective, as well! 😂
