I have it as my part for my high school band. It’s a 2:3 polyrhythm but it’s rlly slow so I just count “1 2 + 3” over and over again lol. 1 2 3 is on A and 1 and the “and” of 2 is on a D. But we are only doing movement 2 so the very beginning I haven’t done
I love this.! We played this in high school many years ago. Love this piece! Brings back a lot of memories ❤
One the greatest band pieces EVER. EVER
I enjoyed this performance!!

It is hard to play the intro rhythm of the bells.
Not really just needs some woodshedding. I haven't played this piece since 2002 and I still have it memorized. probably because I drilled it lol
here for the rhythm in beginning, that's so confusing

@@gavinburns3574 yes, this polyrhythm is hard, and there's a really great video about it that brought me here
I think it's to replicate change ringing bells being "rung up". Amazing!
@@hannahlennertkristiansen4797 Mostly just some 'hot cup of tea' play. And if it is too gnarly, it also says, if memory serves, ad lib
played this in high school 20 years ago, french horns butchered the intro every time, got II's at state
