I always watch chess videos where amazing players explain stuff, and you totally agree with them. Now this is different, because xQc is playing while Hikaru comments on what is going on, which is way more instrutional that GMs explaining their awesome moves. Here you learn why the bad moves we see all the time are bad. I think the format where xQc plays and Hikaru comments is the best way to go
It's actually a really good education series for beginners because Nakamura is explaining things for an absolute beginner.

Dud, these are so fun! Hikaru is such a chill teacher, he doesn't get upset or anything when xqc is missing something obvious. Very patient and kind. I would kill for a one-on-one session with him. Hope you keep improving and doing these sessions with him pvc, these are great.

This is what's wrong with our society. When someone is trying to learn a new skill, they get ridiculed and bullied into oblivion. I've never seen cBt so concentrated and thoughtful, he's trying his hardest to learn how to play a difficult game. But the chat bullies the shit out of him for being bad. You know people are born bad at everything, right? It's not being bad at something that should be ridiculed, it's not wanting to become better. If a person is the worst at something, but they try to become good at it, they should be encouraged. If you see a baby trying to make their first step, would you laugh at them for not being able to walk? See my point?

oh it is because there are 1400 or 1800 or 2200 ranked players and Hikaru's advices are not good for them.
At every level you go deeper and the move-set changes. So a move which is good for a 900 ranked player isn't good for a 1400, and vice versa

Every level has a different strategy.
Watch for example Magnus vs Bill Gates. Magnus told hum that he purposely made mistakes in the game that made him worst, but since Bill is an amature he didn't know how to defend and found himself in a bad position and lost.
@TheGuy WhoPlaysChess I would say it's more about keeping things simple. For example, there was a game here where xQc protected his pawn with another pawn, when the book move is to protect it with the knight. And Hikaru says that is good, you protect the pawn and open a line for your bishop. If he developed the knight first, he would have the option of moving his other bishop outside the pawn chain before advancing the pawn. But if you ask a beginner to think about too many things, they forget to do the most important things.
I'm not a subscriber of any of them, but it's refreshing to see someone mentoring someone who's really trying to learn chess.
I wonder if XQC really grinds chess with the help of Hikaru, if he could take on decent players, in a hundred years or so
depend what you mean by decent. I don't consider myself good (i'm averaging 1350 elo rating), but even for me watching him struggle that much with such simple puzzle is kinda depressing.
The problem with Hiakru, and it's not a problem specific to him because all professionals have this problem, is that he has forgotten what it's like to be a beginner.
