Love this cause not only does it allow for fast weeding of intricate designs but it also allows me to save the rest of the big chunks of vinyl with the carrier sheet still intact to be used on smaller projects.
For the detached pieces you can contour out the rest of the owl and just cut the floating pieces. I would do one piece of vinyl for each side of the face. You can even do a coordinating vinyl. Then you don't have to hand place each piece, you would have them all in the right places on the carrier sheet!

Love the owl and how big you made it. No one knows the flaws but you so I wouldn't stress about it. Looks great.
