Hey Justin ......... I think you mentioned it in one of your videos but I can't find it ..... you were raving about a baked bean recipe. Can you recall who you were referring to ? Thanks !!
Wow, what a fantastic and detailed video Justin! I'm glad you got this footage and you are a truly creative artist when it comes to your editing style. Excellent job brother!!! It was an honor to be included in this meet-up with Harry Soo.
Excellent video. That guy in red shirt goes on and on blah blah blah. Talks too much. Invite him again and he will talk your ear off. He has a lot of recipes and too many stories. Don't ask me how I know. LOL! Love you Justin and my Texas BBQ brothers James, Troy, Kenneth
Love you too, Harry. You don't talk too much. I was kind of amazed looking back at the footage how organized your thoughts were. It felt chaotic at the time because there were 5 of us all shooting different videos for different channels so I didn't know what I had. I was really impressed how well you covered all the bases really well. It's like you've done this before. lol. Have a great rest of the weekend.
Just out of curiosity, is it LADWP that is for your day job? I worked for a company many years ago provided the billing system there for a short time. And btw #WreckEm and #GunsUp.
Harry, as a bbq lover and father to an autistic son, it really hit me hard when you mentioned your kids program. I think that's beyond remarkable and admirable, and I look forward to checking out the online content to share with my son. God bless
It’s said in a jokingly manner, but you can tell he really means it. I also feel that is very true. Both positive and negative energy can be very powerful.
This is such a good video man. I was hoping I'd get one with more instructions on the hot and fast. Was talking to dave about it yesterday. Doing my diligence before giving it a go. Thank you brother!
OMG..I never knew. I was a at risk kid and came out of it by cooking.Ive been cooking for my elderly neighbors and the homeless for years. Thankfully I found a career and now have entered the bbq realm. Still giving after all these years. Cooked for my military unit and now for my Corrections family. Coming into retirement and still giving back to my community. Love this lesson on the history of your start.God bless
Being from Texas it makes me feel so good knowing everyone has the same southern hospitality in the bbq world. I'm doing my first ibca Sept 1 and I would love to thank all you guys for the great content and showing me the ropes! Hopefully I can join the bbq family too!
Bbq tips are great....but my favorite takeaway from watching Harry is seeing the achievement of the American dream thru his eyes...we take so much for granted....thanks, Harry!
You guys are all awesome! Not just Harry but all of you. It’s awesome to see everyone shed their pride and just get together for an amazing grilling session. I want to thank each one of you for your contribution to this video. It’s super informative, educational, and funny as well. I have learned a lot from this video and I’ve put my son on the same path by sending him a link. He loves brisket and all sorts of grilled, smoked and bbq meats and I know he too will learn from it and, enjoy it as I have. Thank you!
BBQ love. The secret ingredient...your heart. The secret ingredient to all cooking...no wonder my mom's cooking was so good. Thanks Harry. Thanks BBQ team.
What an awesome opportunity to have Harry Soo as your guest. The video series turned out perfect. I was totally engrossed from the beginning. I have learned so much viewing all the videos y’all post. Thanks to all the pit masters for sharing their barbecue knowledge. My barbecue has improved so much with your help. Good luck to all in the future.
Thank y’all SO MUCH! Followed instructions last weekend on a Rec Tec 700......best brisket I've ever eaten! You are all great....but...HARRY....is the quantum mechanic of BBQ. THIS MAN STUDIES THE BEEF MOLECULES! Best BBQ teacher ever!
Excellent You can always tell a genius by how simple he makes the complex! Harry is definitely the genius. I look forward to taking one of his classes! I'ed even eat the wood! I always learn something from him.
Bunch of guys getting together and cooking food I love it. I wish the best for Harry such a leader in the bbq world showing ppl how to cook and also looking out for the challenged and at risk youth. I wish nothing but the best for you and the goals you have.
I am repeating myself , your videos are more then great, they are content rich, informative, helpful & entertaining.....and celebrate in every sense , the essence of bbqing
Boy your videos are amazing! I love watching them, and as usual I learned some new tricks. The more I see Harry Soo, the bigger fan of his I become. So wonderful to have someone so down to earth teach the art of BBQ. Looking forward to your next video!
This is a fantastic episode ! I'm a great fan from Harry Soo. I learned a lot from him. I can remember as Harry answers also questions in the great forum TVWBB, which was also super informative. He knows how to transport the spirit of BBQ throughout the galaxy :-). Of course I am also a longtime fan of T-Roy, What's New BBQ, Aim'em & Claim'em Smokers and BabyBack Maniac. I guess this video is so impressive to be because all my favorite pit masters are participating! Great job !!
Justin , I've just rewatched this video. It's awesome to watch. Of all the points Harry makes its the cook with love that really sinks in for me. The 4 of you guys in this are the only 4 bbq gurus I subscribe to and I hope you keep going brother. As Harry says , spread the bbq love!!!.
I have always enjoyed watching Harry Soo cooking on TV competitions. It is so refreshing to learn about his life and background. He is truly a very special person. Thank you Justin for producing this video. Having all those UA-cam publishers on there was a touch of brilliance. I vote you the guy I would most enjoy sharing an adult beverage with; maybe 2 ;-)
been doing that charcoal method for over 45 years...never done a brisket hot and fast.. never seen the need to.. but i will try it out once.. great video
Awesome!! Thanks Baby Back Maniac for another great video with Harry Soo. I watched your other ones with Harry Soo's visit, along with T-Roy Cooks and Aim'em and Claim'em behind the scenes videos. Great content info, plus some great laughs. Also, all four of you fellas have me sold to get a WSM 22.
What a great video Jason! Really love the interaction with all of you guys. That Harry Soo is something special very down to earth guy and what's most important is the love that he projects when he talks. Really inspiring. He's very knowledgeable and intelligent individual. Very informative video on how to hot n fast, must try soon. Thanks again for the content you put out brother. Keep them videos coming!
What a great guy! I remember watching BBQ Pitmasters when it came out and always liked it when Harry got some camera time...he was the "underdog" with the WSMs vs. the fancy rigs.
Yep. He was one of my favorite characters because of that reason. I think it resonated with a lot of people. They were stupid to not get him to keep going with the show
I love watching these guys. I can tell that Harry is definitely someone that most people can mistake for a "know-it-all" and very talkative. However I see someone who has found a life saving hobby and has just put so many hours perfecting method after method and absolutely enjoys spreading the Holy BBQ Gospel! I value all the information that he's willing to share!
So... I tried this and I was so scared that I was not going to be successful. Conditions were a bit different, and I don’t have a fan for controlling temps but was able to loosely follow this guide. I had to trust my little experience, the temp of the meat as well as the feel of it with the probe test. Probably the best brisket I’ve made. It was not perfect but great experience for cooking a 12# brisket in a much shorter time frame. Thank you guys for all of the information and for contributing to my “bag of tricks” ;) Because I had to step out of my comfort zone cooking hot and fast, It taught me to rely on temp and feel and characteristics of the brisket vs following an exact step by step procedure.
love your videos. I always seem to learn something and have fun watching. Must be fun to spend the day with the you tube BBQ stars and competition champions. OOPS you are one of them. Must be a dream come true
Man, this video is so much fun. A lot of talent featured here. Many of these guys inspiring me to get into BBQ. With their respective channels. Aloha from Hawaii. Keep it up.
A superb video again BBM. Just finished watching Troy’s hot and fast brisket video as well. You guys looked like you had a right blast and trading tips all day long. Thank you and keep it up
A whole lotta smokin goin on! Justin you did such a marvelous job on this video! Very well produced and edited with great footage and very informative. I learned quite a bit from watching this! Love sharing the passion with all of you guys! Cheers and God Bless!
I'm going to try embedding wood chunks now since I've alway put them on top. Should be interesting to see if there is a noticeable difference. As a WSM smoker, I'm always grateful to see detailed videos on WSM cooking methods. Thanks for posting this. Now I'm off to search for Happy Days videos for some reason....
WOW! I love this video I can't believe I have been so busy i am just watching it now! I am going to watch the whole series now. i really hope to join yall in a video someday
Great video. I haven't done a brisket under 300 in a while. I haven't done one at 400 but I'll definitely give it a try. I had really good results doing one where I started it around 350, then dialed it back through the unwrapped portion of the cook to 300.
Great video, Justin! I especially found it interesting that Harry took no credit for the “Soo’s Donut” method he used in setting up the WSM. He instead referred to it as the “Minion Method”, though his uses a center cavity & Jim’s does not. This little nugget just shows Harry’s humility. Thanks again for sharing!
I think this method predates both of them. I remember hearing about it long before bbq pit masters. But you are right, he is a humble guy. Lot's of people would be tempted to take credit for things they didn't invent. We all learn from each other.
One second talking about transferring love energy into food to make it better to making science claims about the best way to transfer heat energy using foil. I have absolutely no doubt the food is amazing but electrifying the meat with your heart? Thanks for the video and all the time you and your friends dedicate to educating your fans!
When I use the minion method I always imagine the lit briquettes are 'minions' helping light the unlit charcoal beneath it, and thats how it got its name. Now my world has been turned upside down....

Baby Back Maniac that is great advice. I had one overcook a little bit from not venting it or letting it cool before putting it in my Cambro.
Yep, me too
He recommends the same thing for pork butts too.
I’ve never heared of this before. I will definitely be trying the cool down method on my next brisket. Love the channel by the way!

Great video. I haven't done a brisket under 300 in a while. I haven't done one at 400 but I'll definitely give it a try. I had really good results doing one where I started it around 350, then dialed it back through the unwrapped portion of the cook to 300.
This is by far the hottest I’ve ever cooked one. One of the best ones I’ve done was at 350 but never 400. Turned out great
The Fonz. Thats great.
Thanks
Harry Soo is the man!!
What a great experience and learning session! This will help all of us make better brisket! Thanks for sharing!

I’ve seen multiple videos from this day. Awesome video Justin, tons of great information from a great bunch of guys keep the videos coming!

I know right? I didn’t know it existed either! And I filmed it!!! Lol
One second talking about transferring love energy into food to make it better to making science claims about the best way to transfer heat energy using foil. I have absolutely no doubt the food is amazing but electrifying the meat with your heart? Thanks for the video and all the time you and your friends dedicate to educating your fans!
Hey, whatever works, right?
When I use the minion method I always imagine the lit briquettes are 'minions' helping light the unlit charcoal beneath it, and thats how it got its name. Now my world has been turned upside down....
That's what I thought too
This is probably my favorite comment in the history of the world. LOL
😍😍 Best Barbecue video ever Great job guys thanks for sharing
Great video Justin! Harry Too is the man. I'm taking his class on the 18th....I'm so excited!. Also, a big thumbs up for epidemic sound music;)

Harry is a classy dude that's for sure!
Dude. You are literally smokin it up with legends!! I can only hope to get on your level. Keep on smokin’ brother!!

Great video! So many takeaways especially the universal rule!
Tried it today just like the videos and it worked like a charm! Thanks guys!
Glad it helped!
What a great video. You guys need to do more with harry. You guys just have a great dynamic.
Thx!
Thanks Justin, truly enjoyed that... it offers an inside look to "behind the men" and I think that is bad ass!!
I’m glad you enjoyed it. Thanks for watching
Love to see u all cooking together
Thanks Lugul.
From watching a lot of Harry's videos he prefers the bullet type of smoker. I have seen him use other smokers but his go to seems to be the bullet.
This is an EPIC video and so helpful too! Thanks to all involved !
Glad you enjoyed it.
I’m actually doing a brisket tomorrow. Would you say butcher paper alone is good, or should I do a couple butcher paper and one foil, or just foil?
I'd do both if you have the time and the stuff available. You might find you clearly like one over the other.
Learned a few things. Good video and keep ‘em coming.
Justin, I have watched the video apx 3 times now.. I just want to say how good the audio was when you all were on the patio..
Thank you that means a lot to me. I worked a lot on that
Great video! Please send more about Harry’s program for disadvantaged kids as you learn about it. I would like to be a part in NY.
Subscribe to his channel. He's going to be talking about it a lot more in the future.
Nothing wrong with the 3 pack my friend, glad to see your new post
Thanks buddy.
You saved the best for last. I can relate to Harry getting yelled at. I'm all about getting away from tech to unwind.
Yeah that really resonated with a lot of people. It’s relaxing.
Excellent video I have the 14.5 inch wsm never get smoke like that of briquettes learnt so much just of this one video
Glad it helped, Paul! Thanks for watching.
I wasn’t prepared for this...first time ever....at 18:00, I shed a tear watching a BBQ cook. 😭
It’s moving, isn’t it?!?
Baby Back Maniac It was, I haven’t had a good cry like that since I over cooked a USDA Prime Steak by 5 degrees.
That’s a terrible story. I’m so sorry that happened. Good luck. The sun will come up tomorrow. ;-)
