Oh Bonnie, I had trouble with mice for years and then enough I got a cat he was such wonderful mouser never had one again for 17yrs of his life and he was such a wonderful cat loved him till he died 3yrs ago , praying for you , I do think a cat is the way forward ❤️

I agree with how great of a mouser a cat can be. That's why we have one and she's fantastic. I did not want a cat, however, my kids were over the moon. I know they aren't everyone's cup of tea, but they really do the trick.

Rest assured, Bonnie, we know the mice are not there due to neglect or uncleanness. Get several cats. Mice will know they're there and stay away. Good luck, and just enjoy your time away. This is a season you'll get through just like the others. ❤

MOUSE FREE TRICK! Bonnie! You need to get the high frequency wall plug-ins. They are small little devices you just plug in, and they emit a very high pitch noise that people cannot hear, but it keeps mice away. We had a mouse issue and my mother in law told me about those and we haven’t had one issue sense. We keep one in about every room in the house and garage and they don’t come around any more!! Try these!! Seriously, a life savor for our mice issue! FYI, get the ones from Home Depot. The Amazon ones were a bit noisy.

I might not remember it correctly, but didn't your neighbor say, that this is common since you live right next to fields? And since they are so small, they just get in through the smallest crevises. Getting a cat/cats will help with that for sure!

    • @harper_anne2089

It CAN be a problem because of the fields, once they get them out they shouldn’t have a problem with them as long as they don’t leave their house unattended for long periods and they have maintenance traps set.

Not only outdoor cats please! 🙏They are the same size as Lady! You can't leave them out in Utah winters, they need love and care just like Lady. But when it's spring , summer and autumn cats loves to be outside anyway. But put in a good cat door so they atleast have indoor warm shelter. Or it's a dealbreaker for me.. 🙈 The mouses have lived in that fields for generations, so it takes a bit of time to change into 100% Bonnie clean❤😂
I can't imagine a cat would like to live in that cat house.. sorry Bonnie. Cats loves to be up high, so they can get a good overview, and they want the possibility to run of something threatens them .
I love cats, I fight for people to understand they are not "Just a cat" ! They are so loving, and fun. and if you care for them right, they stay, and they keep your house and property clean and free from mouse and rats.
The cat will find a better place to live if you don't care for them .
I hope the right ones come... They know how to walk straight into your heart ❤️

Safe travels.

You guys should get some outdoor/indoor cats to help with mice!! Also hummingbirds are sooo fun but having a hummingbird feeder is ALOT of work. You have to clean the feeder and put fresh nectar in it every other day ATLEAST or it could be bad for the hummingbirds- not to mention if you do have a hummingbird feeder be aware that you will have more bees who also love nectar! Love you Bonnie ❤

5 gallon bucket filled half way w/water and then cover the water with bird seed to hide the water. Lean a board up the bucket and then they walk the plank to their demise. No toxic poison and you can dump the bucket out in wild for the predators to enjoy.

I have lived in the country for 30 years. Mice are always a problem. You always have to think about keeping mice away. One of the things to do that is to not have cardboard in your house. They love cardboard they chew on it they use it for nesting material. They love cardboard, so get rid of your cardboard that’s one thing and keep all food in chew proof containers

We live out in orchards and the mice are no joke!!! We have had issues in our camper and a small outbuilding on the property. Because of our farm cats and dogs we don’t want to use anything toxic so what I found from another UA-camr who swears by this is in a plastic container that mice can walk in and out of have mixed inside equal parts baking soda and jiffy honey cornbread mix. Apparently mice cannot pass gas/burp so the mixture will kill them and it’s safe for pets. I use old plastic lunch meat containers with the lids on and cut a hole on the side for the mice to get in and out of. Good Luck. Also Irish springs soap is supposed to keep them away.

Don’t have a mice in our camper and get a mouse every now and then because kids are in and out all the time. I know you said you didn’t want to do bait stations but 90% of the time if they eat bait they wonder outside looking for moisture and die. Good luck! Also- I hate mice and want to burn my house down if we do catch one so your reaction is 100% valid

It’s the field, it’s not uncommon. I think it’s good news your trap did its job. Don’t stress… it’s hard when we can’t control everything around us.
All you can do is your best, you’re doing just fine guys!
    Advice: Buy 2 kittens 🐈‍⬛ 🐈 you’ll love them!!!

I am with you Bonnie on the mice! We are dealing with the miller moths for about 3 weeks they are intense. Lying in bed and you get a flutter of moth on your head and pillow. I freak out, lights on till we can find that stupid moth! Hang in there, cats will help.

My daughter lives next to a corn field. It’s a daily battle since they’re plowing fields right now. She has two inside cats now working day and night mouse hunting. Unfortunately they like to bring you their kill and show it off. 😂 🐈 🐈‍⬛

I know you’ve thought of everything already so why comment- but if it helps and you haven’t? - Shawn Woods here on YT is the mouse guy- “mousetrap Monday’s” he has diy traps that catch a LOT you could put by the barn to keep them there and away from the house. Much love your way ❤

Made with a Home Depot bucket. Also I’m a fan of planting copious amounts of lavender and mint near the house and mouser cats is the best idea which you all have covered. Thank you for sharing and the cleaning videos help people too! ❤

If you guys are leaving your garage door open while the kids are playing, the mice can get in that way. So, keep your garage door closed! Also, get about 4 cats for outside.
