Also, a huge shoutout to the Mamba crew! Despite a pretty chaotic storage bin setup in the station and programming that takes ages to park a train in the station, they were getting trains sent out so quick that the train on the lift would "duel" the train on the last airtime hills.
Thank god parks are starting to disable their trims. Raging bull at great america is having a similar renaissance. Not quite as extreme of an off switch as this, but still appreciated. This looks like so much fun
If I’m not mistaken, this is the direct inspiration for Steel Dragon. I’ve heard stories from many former WOF employees of Nagashima Spa Land executives visiting the park to ride Mamba during the planning stages for Steel Dragon. Apparently they loved it so much they wanted one of their own, just much much much bigger 😂
Yes. The programming has changed a lot over the last few seasons. It used to bring trains to a near stop, but now the brakes are fully open and do not slow the train down at all. Although it still functions as a block brake. the brakes open as a train approaches and close after it has passed through.
Yes. The mid-course brake run is still there, but the brakes don't hit. It now sends you flyin like Phantom's Revenge, Jack Rabbit, or Big Dipper(Camden Park)airtime. It's awesome this way!!
@@Doctor_dispatch Steel Force and Wild Thing at Dorney Park and Valleyfair! can and do hit pretty hard so they need to take a page of Worlds Of Fun's book, but they're still fun. Steel Eel has the mid-course brakes as well, but they don't slow the trains down that much and it's my favorite of the Morgan coasters if you take out Phantom's Revenge
It's very forceful! While the airtime is pretty strong, it's the positive Gs between each bunny hill that are the most intense. How hard it slams you into the seat after each airtime hill is *almost* too much for me 😂
@@j-coastersWatching you film through that I could feel it. I’ve ridden its sister coaster, Steel Force at Dorney Park and that tends to run fast through it’s second half, a real seat slammer but this is on another level!

I wish dorney did this with steel force but at least they sped up the lift hill
what changed about the midcourse? did they suddenly turn off the breaks?
