Here are some damning statistics of what happened right here: Albirex Niigata became the first team in Singapore League history to ever win the league title after losing the opening game of the season, especially at home and even conceding the very first goal of the season in the opening minute of the match. For Lion City Sailors: They were the very first team in history in the 'Championship Winner' from Singapore Pools Sports Betting to have the lowest ever odds of 1.01 at one stage and not win it, even that was back in June and also had a 6 point lead after Albirex lost to Tanjong Pagar in injury time (remember that in July?) and they had potentially that in September when Albirex were losing against Balestier at one stage. LCS ultimately collapsed like none other in the title race like Newcastle in 1996, Real Madrid in 2004, Man United in 2012 etc. Another thing I'll leave you with: Two words - Real Madrid, for winning the UEFA Champions League in 2022 in their most dramatic runs of all time. First of all, congrats to Albriex Nigata. Well done in winning the league. J2 feeder team winning the Singapore league. This goes to show the dire straits of Singapore football now. Has the people running the association done anything to improve the state of football? They have been running it for the past few years, where’s the result to show? Getting hammered at all levels. Back at home, how many primary schools in Singapore actually offer football as a CCA? Sad to say, we will never improve and we have become minnows of the region.

Now the main point is to get all the clubs privatised as it's sbout time. I know the once already privatised clubs are capable of getting good foreign players too. Look around the world, there are plenty and importantly get them to play in Singapore. It's time to get out of the comfort zone.
LCS's defence has been in complete shambles the entire season esp the CBs. Lack of command and control of the backline is clear for all to see and exploit. Now the overrated, overpaid & underperforming players have to go.
Credit to the Club though for trying to do things the professional way.
