Hey Sandi I know ur not really posting but your the GURU… so I figured I’d ask What did you used to make ur table centerpiece bases with… was it the same as the columns just a smaller scale or did you use something else that was cost effective. Most people wanna keep the centerpeice.
Hi Sandi! Your videos have been so helpful to me! I did a 1 foot by 1 foot base 🥲 they're moving lol. Would 10 pound plates be enough to keep it from moving or should I order something else. Thank you!
Sandi, If You wanted to get two home made columns and turn it into an arch (like a doorway one with sides going straight up and a curved top) how could you make this and adapt it without having to tape the poles to the column? I thought about using shock corded tent poled and sliding them inside the pipe, but I didn't know if that would be good enough.
I think that it might work, but I would prob use a little tape too just to make sure it doesn't slide out from the pressure of the balloons. You could use clear packing tape if you want something a little less sticky :~)
Does the metal pipe need to wrapped completely with tape? Or spray painted ? I'm wondering if the temperature of the pipe cause the balloons to pop if I'm making outdoor balloon columns ?
I've never had the temperature of the pipe pop the balloons, but direct sun light definitely can. I wrap the pole with tape to camouflage it so that it blends into the design and you don't see unfinished metal peeking through the balloons :~)
Hi Sandi, Great video. I had went out before seeing your video. I bought the wood and pvc pipe. I was going to drill a hole in the center but didn't know how it was going to stay sturdy. Do you think this will work. Thanks.
thank you so much for this. Helps calm the panic as I already said yes to a project and need to build these asap! one question... I'm going to use 5' emt. how long do you suggest the threaded pipe be?
Hello sandi my name id Mario. And o loved How u work whit the balloons and i wanna ask a cuestión How o where can o get the ligh On the top of the las colums, lock very nice u can give me info abaut the light pelase thanks
+Piph Baker I really don't recommend it- it there is a little bit of wind, or if someone leans on the column, the screws could pop out of the particle board. It's better to spend a tiny bit more in the beginning than to have a disaster on your hands later :-)
Hi Sandi I love your videos they are so helpful thanks for sharing with us. I would like to learn more about balloon decorating classes are and opening my own business but I have no idea where to start I've been looking for anything in my area (Philadelphia) but I'm not having any luck any suggestions where I can start??? Tx for your help
Hi Cinderella, As it happens, I'm running an online balloon business bootcamp. We just started last week, but all the calls are recorded so you can watch it at your leisure. Here's the link if you want more info on it... Http://www.BalloonExpertSchool.com :-)
Sandi, I'm a beginner and trying to make a spiral balloon arch with 4 colors. Which colors should I tie together to make the duplets. 2 dark colors together and 2 lighter colors? Does it matter?
Sandi Balloon - I watch all your videos thank you so much, you are very informative. I'm just starting out so everything you do I'm soaking it up. I got the arch done and my clients were happy.
Hi there Sandi! Can we make a balloon arch without a stand like just put in some weight like a block or water filled balloon on each side? I tried making a column using a water filled balloon as a weight and it worked fine. I am hesitant on trying to make an arch using the same method. Thanks in advance! :D
I pick them up. We charge the client for set up and strike and make it a regular part of our service. That way we know that all the trash is properly thrown away and that the venue people don't have to clean up our mess.
hi sandi. Please tell me where I can purchase the balloon grid frame...more specifically the flexible ones that look like the holder for coke cans six pack. will greatly appreciate
Sonia Baldeo Gore the frame you're asking about is called RMS (Rouse Matrix System). We'll probably bring it into the store at some point, so keep checking www.DiyBalloonArtStore.com ;-)
Hi, great video!! I know this is a crazy questions but I'm going to ask anyway lol. I'm trying to save as much money as possible for my upcoming birthday party and I'm just wondering would two floor lamps work the same way as this?? I will unscrew the top part where its kind of shaped like a cone and hide the wires. It wont be a large arch just big enough for like one person to be able to take pictures? Just curious if this will work. Thanks for the help..
+prettinpink0 Yes, it will work, but be very careful because it doesn't have a great footprint to prevent it from falling over. Honestly the price is about the same, so you wouldn't really be saving much money- just convenience :-)
+Sandi Masori Balloons on thanks so much. I have two lamps at home that I'm going to use so it will be absolutely free lol. Thanks so much for your help
Hi Sandi, Thank you for sharing this tutorial it helps so much! I was just wondering, when you are making columns or arches for parties, do you leave the stands there or do you collect them and reuse them?
We always go back for them. If you build the price into the column I suppose you could leave it there, but we prefer to offer our clients the ease of us striking the job ourselves. :~)
Sandi Masori Balloons That makes sense, Thank you! I was at the department store looking for all these materials you use in the video and I was wondering, if they sell conduit that is threaded, couldn't you just screw that into your flange and skip the middle part of the little threaded pipe?
Hi Sandy! I went to the home depot and got my plywood cut to 12×12. I'm so sad I didn't get it larger, do you think this will work for out door columns?
You're not going to like what I'm about to say, but no. It's not enough of a footprint to stand up to even a little wind, as the balloons turn into a huge sail. Those are prob ok for indoors, or centerpieces, but for outside you really want 24" x 24" :~)
Tsuki Kimura Sometimes I think it might also be called conduit? Not sure if conduit is the plastic one or not though. EMT stands for Electrical Metal Tubing (I think)
Hi Sandi, Thanks for all the wonderful videos you post. I am new to the balloon business and wanted to know what was the cost of the materials and how much should I charge per tower
Hi Sharon, Those are some great questions. I recommend joining my Facebook group Beginning Balloon Professionals and putting it there. Also pricing is a huge topic all on it's own, I have a home study balloon business bootcamp course going on right now, you should check that out. Http://www.BalloonCourse.com :~)
Hi ive. Just started learning. And i have done. My grandson. Two. Collums with a. Number 8 on the top but. When. I. Dropped it off. The. Balloons. Just started to pop on there own. :( can. You. Help. Me. And tell. Me what i have dome wrong i. Was disappointed
If the balloons were fully inflated then they could be very fragile. If the balloons were dark colors and you put them in direct sunlight they could pop. If the balloons hit a static field and were not underinflated they could pop. There are a lot of factors that could cause popping, but best practices are to make sure you use a good quality balloon, keep it good and squishy by underinflating, and stay away from dark colors and direct sunlight for outdoors.
Yes, that's exactly what it is- either 3/4" flange and 1/2" pipe, or 1/2" flange and 3/16 size pipe. I usually go over to the emt dept first and grab one and then go over to the flange section and make sure it fits ;-)
You have made my amateur balloon column a great success 2 years in a row! Thank You!!
+Tiffany Hoffman - I'm so glad to hear that!! Come into my DIY Balloon Art facebook group and show off your pix :-)
Sandi Masori Balloons
LOVE IT! The most simple video I have seen on how to make a frame.
I love your videos. You always explain in ways that doesn't seem so complicated.
Ali NH Awwww.... thank you! :-)
you're really fun to watch! thanks for the help as well!
Thanks! :~)
Do you have a video for a small base plate for table topper
Hey Sandi
I know ur not really posting but your the GURU… so I figured I’d ask
What did you used to make ur table centerpiece bases with… was it the same as the columns just a smaller scale or did you use something else that was cost effective. Most people wanna keep the centerpeice.
These can be used outside if you are using a heavy enough wood. If you're using press board I wouldn't use them outside.
I have a video on doing a balloon arch. When I get some time I'll try to make one on making a framed arch.
Hi Sandi! Your videos have been so helpful to me! I did a 1 foot by 1 foot base 🥲 they're moving lol. Would 10 pound plates be enough to keep it from moving or should I order something else. Thank you!
1' x 1' simply isn't a big enough footprint for outdoors. It's not just the weight, it's also the footprint
I learned this!!! Thanks so much for this tutorial! I love my arch ❤
Thanks for the info, you should definitely do a tutorial on making an arch frame. Pleeeease :)

it's a nice video..this is one of issues...also do you just leave that pole to the costumer and charge them too or you ke them rent it?...than you
Usually I will go back for them, but it depends on the customer and the event.

+Pamela Harvey I think you would need to use glue if you're going to do it that way, but idk as I do it the way shown :-)
thank you so much for this. Helps calm the panic as I already said yes to a project and need to build these asap! one question... I'm going to use 5' emt. how long do you suggest the threaded pipe be?
In general I like 6-10" as that gives a nice stable brace against torque :-)

What size thickness is the woodplate?
It's 3 layer plywood. I'm not sure of the thickness though. :-)
hey can I use particleboard instead of plywood for my base??
+Piph Baker I really don't recommend it- it there is a little bit of wind, or if someone leans on the column, the screws could pop out of the particle board. It's better to spend a tiny bit more in the beginning than to have a disaster on your hands later :-)

Sandi, What do you cover your poles with?
Black Duct tape :~)
can the stands be use outside or need some other stand?
Question?? On the threaded pipe how many inches long is the one you are using in this video. I know it's a 3/4" but how long is it?
10" :~)
Sandi Masori Balloons Thank you :)
Would a 6in work? I just got back from the store and didn't know what size to get ?

yep, these work really well for outdoors too :~)
Hi what are your Materials for making the Balloon Arches? Do you use PVC pipes?
Hi Josephine, I made a video on how to make a balloon arch without helium
Sandi, I'm a beginner and trying to make a spiral balloon arch with 4 colors. Which colors should I tie together to make the duplets. 2 dark colors together and 2 lighter colors? Does it matter?
It doesn't really matter how you tie them, it's more how you set them once you create the quad. :~)
Sandi Balloon - I watch all your videos thank you so much, you are very informative. I'm just starting out so everything you do I'm soaking it up. I got the arch done and my clients were happy.

+erikramossalapong generally speaking I wouldn't recommend trying to make an arch without any framing unless the balloons are filled with helium :-)
hi sandi! i hope you don't mind me asking, do you leave those poles at the venue and get them back after the event? or do you leave them for good?
I pick them up. We charge the client for set up and strike and make it a regular part of our service. That way we know that all the trash is properly thrown away and that the venue people don't have to clean up our mess.

hello can you please tell me where I can find the conduit base plates I'm making my own balloon arch
I get all my materials from home depot or lowes or my local hardware store :~)
It's not electrical conduit it's plumbing pipe it'll be found in the plumbing department
hello can I use this stand for and outdoor party?
Yes! If it's really windy you may want to put some 10 lb barbel weights on it for extra stability, but these are my everyday bases. :~)

@@speakrighttogod striking is an event term that means loading up after the event.

May I ask what the thickness of this plywood was?
If your trying to use these balloon columns to make a arch what do I need and where can I find it

Thank you so much!
What type of wire do you use to connect the columns to make the actual arch?
Either aluminum rod, or you could even use PEX or a hula hoop if it's a small arch :~)
hello sandi could i use these column to run a piece of pliwood to form an arch
+kaneena jackson I don't know if I'd use plywood- you want something a little more flexible. pvc, pex or aluminum rod maybe :-)
kaneena jackson nj
what supplies did you use?
+Charlie Johnson wood, flange, threaded pipe, screws and emt :-)
Thank you sandi! But, i git a question? The pole is EMT. Is there another name I can ask for at home depot
Tsuki Kimura Sometimes I think it might also be called conduit? Not sure if conduit is the plastic one or not though. EMT stands for Electrical Metal Tubing (I think)
It's plumbing pipe. All would be found in the plumbing department. Either in black pipe or galvanized (silver)

2' x 2' :-)
bravo
Balloon Sage .
I bought plywood and I am having problems screwing with a power drill. What’s going on?
I don't know, I usually try to get the home depot guys to do everything for me ;~)
ok. thank you
thank you so much
My pleasure :-)
What is ENT tube?
EMT is Electrical Metal Tubing, or conduit :~)
@@SandiMasoriPresents - Hi Sandi, is that the same as PVC pipe ?
Hey Sandi! Curious as to why you used the short pole between the flange and emt. Why wouldn’t you screw the emt into the flange?
It gives it a little bit of a brace against bending, and the emt is not threaded at the end. :~)
Hi Sandi, can I use pvc instead of emt
You can use PVC, but it is more bendy than emt, so after 5' or so it becomes less stable and has a lot more movement. :~)
Hi Sandi
How you do a balloon arch frame??
Can anyone tell me how to attach the balloon at the top of a column?
Amy Kress I have this in another video. If you look at any of the Column videos it shows how to attach the topper.
how much are these items
It depends on where you are. None of them should be very expensive as they're all pretty common materials :~)
Okay thanks :)
What kind of tape did you put on the pole?
common duct tape :~)
What size flange and what size threaded pipe? If I use 3/4" flange and 3/4" threaded pipe does the 1/2" EMT fit tightly together. Thanks in advance.

Thanks for the information. I'm current here in Japan trying to make my stands. How long of a threaded pipe do I need?
sorry that's what i ment pvc but wen i put it into the poles they lean
+kaneena jackson Then you may need a stronger pole, or to have the poles closer together. Sometimes it takes a little experimenting :-)
Omgggg these frikkin comments😔damn yall she jus shown yall her way of how she do it figure rest out for yourselves 😕
base ferro nome?
is 1 inch to big the guy at home depot gave me 1 inch so it can be sturdy but my balloons won't rap around the pole
I usually use 1/2". The threded pipe and flange are 3/4", so the 1/2" just slides right in :~)
is the 1/2 also threaded to connect, or is it inside the threaded pipe?
hhahaa
