In her lizzy grant era she has a song called “put me in a movie” in which she says in the song, “lights, camera, action, you know i cant make it on my own”. In high by the beach she says “lights, camera, acción, I’ll do it on my own, don’t need your money to get me what i want”. Her mind
for me THE BLACKEST DAY is the definition of sadness. the vibe, the lyrics referencing the stages of grief, the production, so deep and dark, one of my favorite Lana songs ever 🖤
A few years ago, I would be sure to play that at least once each time I went for a walk at night. Rather than make me sad, it cheered me up, paradoxically. Can't say why, except that not feeling alone with my feelings was always a boost.
Totally lol Or heroin… only bc honeymoon makes me escape and kills me at the same time. And it’s much more fitting for Lana lol 😂 what did whitney Houston say once? Lol “crack is cheap and I ain’t cheap” lmao 🤣
Honeymoon, in my opinion is a masterclass in ambient music, the whole album is a literal vibe & a further extension of the fact that lana del rey is an absolute master of her craft. The greatest artist of our times. This woman is a total maverick, just doing her own thing, her work literally exist in a void where the only inspiration she needs for her music is herself & one of the reason why she stands apart from the crowded scene of pop world.
Lana did in fact have an Italian summer romance! she was dating Francesco Carrozzini (son of Vogue Italia's editor) and they were papped a lot whilst hanging out in Italy during this era!
Paradise by lana del rey reaction is left too if u guys haven't heard that album yet ..... it has some of her best songs including RIDE, BODY ELECTRIC, GODS AND MONSTERS.... please do that ❤❤❤❤
24 was written for the James Bond movie 'spectre' (24 being the first JB movie with Craig) but she lost to Sam Smith. Hence the carnage and fleas lines and the flair!
Honeymoon is a weird one for me because some of my favourite songs are from this album, and whenever I listen to the album I really enjoy it, I just don't find myself coming back to it often. It's beautiful though, there really is something special about it. Thank you for your reaction:) ❤
I feel the same exact way!! I love this album but it only fits a very specific mood/vibe. Like I’m not really throwing this on while I’m in the car, or doing a daily mundane task😭😂
you saying you wanted to sleep to it lol exactly! i like to call honeymoon "sunday album", because it gives me sunday afternoon vibes with summertime and warm breeze, a lot of silence, relaxation and a good moment to go take a nap. its very meditative i love it!!
yes it has a double meaning and soft ice cream is not just a silly thing to be in the song this song about her ex whom they were in italy and ate soft ice cream together. lana says, “salvatore can wait, now it’s time eat soft i cream” because the salvatore cheated on lana and lana tries to go on with her life alone.
Honeymoon is so underrated. Alot of people think its boring or too slow but they don't get it. I became a lana fan in early 2017 and Honeymoon was the last release back then and when I went on vacation I listened to it non-stop. It really is the best lana album to listen to on vacation. I can definetly recommend!
1:50 Lana Del Rey actually had a separate offical Instagram acoustic and honeymoon was a fan base private account for years but around covid people came after her for allegedly being republican which she’s not and a ton of other backlash so she deleted her main instagram and proceeded on the Honeymoon account

honeymoon is very much an album that grows on you overtime because you just happen to think about a lyric or a melody randomly and then it becomes part of you.
Honeymoon is the creeper LDL album after I’ve listened to 100 times, yes agree Bonnie, relaxing but also filled with such emotion. Terrance Loves You sends me to orbit and Freak is top tier🦋
Damn.... From all the people that react to Lana albums I was really really looking forward to see the girls reactions and breakdowns of Honeymoon, but I feel like they didn't enjoy the album as I thought they would. Especially some of the lyrics (the blackest day) and the bridges. Anyway. To be honest took me a while to realize how good this album is.
Girls, i think similar to what you did with NFR you should do breakdowns for Born to die, Chemtrails and Blue Banisters!! It would just so good and im simply curious about your thoughts on these superior albums :))
Bro, Lana's first albums are very cinematic and it's as if her sound made him direct an entire segment of scenes in a film so cohesive and sonically creative that all the well-produced and written tracks made him, even if for the album cover , creating, based on this, scenery of places so well done, the aesthetics of the album. Honeymoon is one of her best works and i only realize this when i relisten to it after a long time.
Hooneymoon has many topics but one of the main ones is how after her success of born to die and ultraviolence the fame wasn’t what she expected like in the high by the beach music video theres a whole helicopter and inside of it its paparazzi taking pictures of her in her beach house and by the end she shoots it down and theres some photos from her uv era of her in the beach trying to read a book or on her phone and it was paparazzi photos and she left cause she got annoyed and swan song also talks about her thinking about retiring cause the fame is too much for her bur until chemtrails over the country club she accepted fame since it opens up with white dress a song about her just getting her career up and by the end she has two small artist who are getting there career up by being featuring them in the song so helping others with her fame since she has finally accepted it.
You guys should totally do a Lana album ranking and kinda do a broad analysis of each album and what were your favorite/least favorite songs from each one! Just a fun idea to wrap up the journey :)
The Blackest Day represents the 5 stages of grief 💔 denial and isolation in the first verse, anger in the bridge, bargaining in the second verse, depression in the chorus, and acceptance in the outro.
Fun fact about Freak: The music video treatment is inspired by Lana’s friend (and collaborator) Father John Misty’s experience of taking acid at a Taylor Swift concert! 😊 She confirmed this back in 2015 at the premiere for the video! Just a little TayLana crossover even way back in 2015! ♥️
please do some more lana breakdowns of the albums you’ve already listened to but haven’t reacted to like you did with nfr!! we need to fathom all together 🫶🏻
Completely agree that you needed to be there for ultraviolence. It’s a completely different sound and so very “2014” in its essence. I have so many memories attached to those songs and that’s what makes it my favourite Lana album! Not completely offended that you can’t relate to it as I think it has its very important place in her discography 🫶🏼
I had kind of the opposite experience LOL. I only discovered Ultraviolence a few years ago, and it instantly became my favorite Lana album. I think the sound can be a little polarizing compared to her other records, so you either love it or you don’t. The production and vocals on UV just completely transport me to another universe🤩
This album is perfect for evening/night listening during the autumn season, kinda like when it first came out. This album came out my senior year in high school so it holds great and fond memories for me. This was the first time I got to listen to a Lana album as it was released since I didn’t start listening to her till late 2014/early 2015. This album is easily in my top 3 Lana albums (Lust for Life is my fave).
I've been waiting for this video since your Ultraviolence reaction haha. Honeymoon is such a unique album for me because it became such a grower after a few listens. Hope you guys like it too.
Imagine when we heard Swan Song the First time back in the day Honeymoon was dropped. It really seemed she was retiring. She closed her social medias and took space away from the scene.
This album is totally different from the other ones in Lana's discography. I remember when it was released i was so depressed so still when i hear this it's giving me depression, not because of Lana, because i remembering that bad times. But still this album is beautiful
Honeymoon is a masterpiece. Following Ultraviolence, which chronicles the breaking of a toxic relationship, Honeymoon is a dreamscape of what could have been for that relationship from Ultraviolence. Fantasizing about a Honeymoon, when you're actually reeling from the dissolution of the relationship.
I simply NEED an album breakdown for Chemtrails from you two, pleeeeease. Next to BTD, it’s my favourire Lana album. There’s just something so damn special about it. Specifically the title track, White Dress and Tulsa Jesus Freak and Breaking Up Slowly🖤
I literally SCREAAAMED at @7:20 when we didn't get to see your reaction to the bridge in "Honeymoon", its my favourite part of the song. It was literally life-changingggg for me. 😭❣❤

I’m about to start the video, and i don’t think this is the kind of album you will gravitate to girlies but i’m glad you are guving it a chance! :) I think is called Honeymoon cuz Lana has a fascination with certain words and i think she really likes this one.
She said in an interview (2023, before Ocean Blvd) that Swan Song was her saddest song. She said she looks back and thinks "Look at what they've done to me, what they made me do".
Another analysis can be made about Terrence loves You as well. The lyrics can be spoken from Terrence's point of view, he was the younger brother of David Bowie, and both were many friends, almost inseparable, but around the age of 21 Terrence was diagnosed with severe schizophrenia which caused him to have to be admitted to a rehabilitation clinic. Due to Bowie's growing fame in music, the two didn't have as much contact anymore, which made Terrence's case worse. On a night of actionThanksgiving, Terrence managed to escape from the clinic and threw himself in front of a train. The song talks about Terrence's perspective missing his brother, but lines like "I lost myself when I lost you" we can see how Terrence missed his brother, and later we can see that Terrence turned on the radio to listen to his brother "I put the Radio on...". Of course, all this is an analysis made by Lana and put into the song. But it's beautiful anyway. ❤
It took me sooo long to fathom Ultraviolence but I think if you give it more time you guys will get it. Especially songs like Pretty When You Cry and the title track!
Not sure if this has been mentioned in the comments, but I recommend Lana's Honeymoon live session on BBC Radio 1 with a couple of songs from the album (High By the Beach/Terrence Loves You/Honeymoon)! I love that live version of Terrence Loves You; even more than the album version, I would say.
omg I can't believe we've done all Lana albums on this channell, boy it's been a journey 😍and now we'll be waiting for her new stuff 🤍 And I agree with your perception o this album, that it srcreams VIBES, for me it incarnates the hot stifling summer, the feeling when you're driving in car and looking through a window and imagining that you're a main character in some dramatic scene in a movie.
