With slices that thin, there must be way, way more meat than is shown on just those 2 or 3 platters there, right? How much weight in edible meat would you get from a jamon this size?
jamon is to be sliced thinly....if not, they it would be too thick as well as the slices could be slightly though. Also, what's important to note is, this is serrano...not iberica bellota...Know the differences in the characteristics of all the categories when buying a jamon, or jamon iberica bellotas...what he is slicing is the lowest level of quality for jamones...
That is correct, those platters only held a few ounces each. For a bone-in ham you will have ten pounds of edible meat.
