I heard that in tracking you dont want to go down the jump run, but in the first jump it seems like they do, can you explain the considerations in such a case?
You are totally right with "dont track into the jump run". In the first jump its really hard to see because of the cut but we were doing a 90° turn after the first seconds. Normally you go for 2-5 seconds in jump run before turning. An exit with direct turn is harder to fly, so in this case its only for giving everybody a chance to get a clean exit before turning. In the end of the jump its very important to open your parachutes in the right spot - so the pattern is variable as long as you reach your point of destination (out of the jump run with clean airspace). If you want to start doing tracking jumps on your own I would always recommend to get some proper track-introduction (most importantly theory about pathing).
