I remember when fidget spinner’s became popular in my school. Kids were allowed them, until teachers had enough of kids not paying attention in class. Then many teachers banned them, and eventually, the entire school banned them. And then in 5th grade, my teacher said that we were allowed to use a small amount of slime or puddy under our desks to help those with ADHD. As someone with ADHD, it was really helpful. But then one of the “popular girls” from my classroom brought out, I kid you not, a gallon of slime they were playing with on their table. My class then banned slime and puddy, but luckily my teacher let me use some since I actually have ADHD, and need help focusing
Not really a fidget but all the stuff getting taken away bc of other kids reminds me of an invisible ink pen I had once I had literally just gotten it and was really excited and wanted to show my friends who had all gotten their own before me and I was like “now I have 1 too” and so I brought it to school (not really aware that apparently we were told not to bring them or something idk) and I didn’t take it out really only once and then this 1 kid at my table started pestering me to let him see it so I finally relented and let him see it No! He wanted to HOLD IT!!!! I was trying to work (parents being teachers kinda and they get in your head about doing well in school) and he kept pestering me so I couldn’t focus so I said fine and handed it to him and told him to give it back soon, well naturally my adhd brain quickly forgot all about it and I only remember after dismissal so I rushed back to the classroom hoping he’d left it but I couldn’t find it in his desk I began to cry thinking he stole it and the teacher asked me what happened I told her everything and she said that she had taken it from him because HE WAS PLAYING WITH IT!!!! Never had I ever had a toy out in the open for fear of getting it confiscated until the last day of school (which was what they did at my elementary school) Anyway she tells me I will have to wait till the last day of school Important to note she put all the confiscated stuff in this plastic bag Ok anyway so last day of school rolls around and once again I have forgotten all about the pen because it’s been at least a month I don’t remember but luckily my mom worked at the school and I would just go to her classroom every day after school so when I did remember I was able to rush back I look through the bag and IT ISN’T THERE Now how my teacher had set it up was she put the bag open on a table and said that if we had anything confiscated we could take our stuff when we left SOMEONE ELSE HAD GONE IN AND TOOK MY PEN WHICH THEY KNEW DID NOT BELONG TO THEM!!!!! That isn’t even the only time my stuff has been stolen It happened reports when I was in kindergarten and we went to the nearby preschool after school (school days were short for kindergarteners back then) and my friends and I who would go to the preschool would always bring a stuffed animal or some other toy with us for nap time because we were still expected to participate in nap time there idk why I once brought this gray kitty bath toy that was stolen at least twice and I distinctly remember 1 girl having me follow her to her backpack and taking it out and giving it back to me a few weeks after it was stolen once don’t remember how I got it back the other time and once my mom gave me this cute little stuffed puppy for Valentine’s Day and that was stolen from my bag too and I never saw it again! I would freak out and cry and back then we didn’t know about the adhd or autism so it was much more difficult And another time a little locket I had was stolen out of a cereal box book report (don’t ask but the locket was because there was supposed to be a prize in the box) and my teacher didn’t realize it was in there because she “didn’t feel it” because it was so light (it’s a plastic necklace what was I supposed to put in there bricks?) so while she took out all the others so that they wouldn’t get stolen she left mine in my box and guess what I never saw again? If you guessed the locket you are correct Now I have stolen things before (sometimes just me being a dumb kid taking toys and once even a crayon home from my preschool but the 2 latest times which were a few years ago was because I genuinely forgot I was holding them in my hand and 1 of those things was a small pumpkin) but the kids who took my stuff should have known better and that’s why people getting their stuff taken from them makes me so mad
Converse are awesome! I’m a middle schooler now and they’re still the most popular shoes at my school. But idc if they’re trendy or not, they’re amazing.
When I was in elementary, my ADHD was very bad and I used to make fun of it, because of how I expressed it, in the form of rocking back and forth. Everyone in my class started bringing in fidget spinners and eventually they were banned from my class, but they really helped me, and my teacher let me keep one in my desk so I could use it when I needed to. :)
i have autism and adhd and fidget spinners were a favorite of mine. I found it so annoying when people would abuse them and pretend to need them. Eventually switched to other types 🤷🏽♂️
While I am in middle school I've gotta say converse are awesome shoes think about it just some normal original black and white hightops or low tops match with everything, are comfortable and are just great I love them
Fidget Spinners were made for people who NEEDED a fidget but then everybody wanted them so they got banned in classes which ruined the whole point for people who actually needed them. (I know all this because my brother was one of the people who actually needed them.)
The fidget spinners thing hits hard. ( I have adhd and I know others with attention disorders and so many fidget toys are banned at my school because someone on TikTok made them way to popular and now the people who need them to concentrate can’t have them without being called cringy or distracting)
Fun fact fidget spinner’s and other fidget toys were made for people with adhd and because everyone started playing with them they got banned in my school so the people like me who desperately needed them to focus and sit still couldn’t use them
Fidget spinners were supposed to help people who needed a small thing to fidget with during class but then everyone bought them so they got banned even for the people who ACTUALLY needed them. (I know this because my brother was one of the people who needed a fidget.)
Popularizing fidgets made it impossible for those of us who needed them to have access them as they were getting banned. Even with it in my IEP teachers still told me I couldn't use them.
Converse are actually very cool looking. Maybe not the white and black ones anymore because everyone wore only those colours but the other colours are really cool.
as soon as i saw the fidget spinners i was like “nooo he’s gonna shit on them, they were made to help adhd ppl😭” and then you went about it in the exact right way. thanks so much. it’s actually so great when ppl talk about that.
lmao, i still have and wear my converse from 6th grade. they’re extremely damaged but it’s just memories. they banned fidget spinners, slime, water bottles in school. i look back and damn. kinda miss middle school but shit was hell for me
I have a fidget spinner!! Yeah, it's so helpful for me. Beyond the main use, my favorite was the pink one my step-dad won for me, its a major comfort tool
I have major anxiety and ADHD so fidget spinners did help me a lot. But I couldn't use it anymore because my school banned them and my anxiety went through the roof and I got distracted way too often. Thankfully I found something else to help me but it sucks that my school banned them even though they actually helped me.
I was so sad when I grew out of my red converse high tops. I was also weirdly proud that they were a hand me down from my cousin. I didn't even look up to him that much lol
Black converse high tops are a staple, super cute, go with anything and don’t cost an arm and a leg. I don’t wear them because I think I’m cool for it I wear them because I love them.
I relate to the last one, I have an anxiety tic that can really harm me (full disclosure, it's a tic i DO NOT have touretts or tics, its just a thing I do when I'm anxious) and I want to get a quiet fidget so I don't hurt myself
Fidget Spinners were really cool when I was in the 5th grade and they got so cool that we weren’t aloud to even bring them to school. If they caught you,you would get them taken away
The fidget spinner one hits too close to home and honestly it's just the case w ANY fidget "toy" ever. They are designed to help people w things like focus or stress management but they get so oversaturated and just seen as toys
Loom bands or literally any type of wrist bands were 'cool' mostly because they were customisable and if they have complex patterns, they reach top tier of coolness. Also, those long rulers that can slap onto your wrist were 'cool'. Number one, they hurt and number 2, the plastic comes out easily and inside were metal... Finally, ooshies. Ooshies initially was a pencil topper but slowly became a huge craze. Fun fact, I got my first ooshie from my cousin and I was the first student in my school to bring ooshies. After that, everyone had ooshies. The good thing about that was it was fun, like actually fun. The main point of the game was to flick your ooshies to knock out your opponent's ooshies, similarly like marbles but it became a problem when students started trading. Now, ooshies have rarity, like some are common, uncommon, rare, legendary ect. And then there are just crazy golden or hologram ones that was so rare that other students would just steal it. Sometime students would get scammed and trade something valuable for a worthless ooshie.
I’m so mad everybody made fidget spinners into a toy and they got banned at my school. Those things actually help my anxiety and help my focus bc I have ADHD and all the really good fidgets are loud. For a few weeks I used fidget spinners during class and that was the most understanding of our math concepts that I’d had in years. Then they got banned and I went straight back to confusion. The only other fidgets I could find either made loud sounds (pop it’s, those tubes that you can fold and unfold, I found a monkey fidget that made a clicking sound when you spun its tail etc) or they didn’t work for me…
Dude. You just reminded me of the time I had a fidget spinner in math. My teacher took it away and never gave it back til the last day but it was broken. Then she also took a tiny drawing I had that wasn’t even distracting anyone and I don’t know how she saw it. She ended up throwing it away or my brother was supposed to give it to me but he didn’t care.
Fidget spinners were meant to help with anxiety and adhd and whatnot. They ended up with the same fate as service dogs, bad people ruining a good thing.
As an alt child who also have anxiety struggles, 1 converse look like they’d give my feet no room at all, and 2 I liked fidget spinners cuz they helped me have something to focus on so I wouldn’t think about how everyone could possibly hate me and suddenly leave me at any point in time
Fidget spinners are fun I guess but there are better fidget toys to help with adhd. Though it really depends on who you are. I like infinity cubes because you can use the smaller ones with one hand ad the representative motion is easy to do. Plus it’s quiet so your classmates or coworkers won’t get annoyed.

Not really a fidget but all the stuff getting taken away bc of other kids reminds me of an invisible ink pen I had once I had literally just gotten it and was really excited and wanted to show my friends who had all gotten their own before me and I was like “now I have 1 too” and so I brought it to school (not really aware that apparently we were told not to bring them or something idk) and I didn’t take it out really only once and then this 1 kid at my table started pestering me to let him see it so I finally relented and let him see it
No! He wanted to HOLD IT!!!! I was trying to work (parents being teachers kinda and they get in your head about doing well in school) and he kept pestering me so I couldn’t focus so I said fine and handed it to him and told him to give it back soon, well naturally my adhd brain quickly forgot all about it and I only remember after dismissal so I rushed back to the classroom hoping he’d left it but I couldn’t find it in his desk
I began to cry thinking he stole it and the teacher asked me what happened
I told her everything and she said that she had taken it from him because HE WAS PLAYING WITH IT!!!!
Never had I ever had a toy out in the open for fear of getting it confiscated until the last day of school (which was what they did at my elementary school)
Anyway she tells me I will have to wait till the last day of school
Important to note she put all the confiscated stuff in this plastic bag
Ok anyway so last day of school rolls around and once again I have forgotten all about the pen because it’s been at least a month I don’t remember but luckily my mom worked at the school and I would just go to her classroom every day after school so when I did remember I was able to rush back
I look through the bag and IT ISN’T THERE
Now how my teacher had set it up was she put the bag open on a table and said that if we had anything confiscated we could take our stuff when we left
SOMEONE ELSE HAD GONE IN AND TOOK MY PEN WHICH THEY KNEW DID NOT BELONG TO THEM!!!!!
That isn’t even the only time my stuff has been stolen
It happened reports when I was in kindergarten and we went to the nearby preschool after school (school days were short for kindergarteners back then) and my friends and I who would go to the preschool would always bring a stuffed animal or some other toy with us for nap time because we were still expected to participate in nap time there idk why
I once brought this gray kitty bath toy that was stolen at least twice and I distinctly remember 1 girl having me follow her to her backpack and taking it out and giving it back to me a few weeks after it was stolen once don’t remember how I got it back the other time and once my mom gave me this cute little stuffed puppy for Valentine’s Day and that was stolen from my bag too and I never saw it again! I would freak out and cry and back then we didn’t know about the adhd or autism so it was much more difficult
And another time a little locket I had was stolen out of a cereal box book report (don’t ask but the locket was because there was supposed to be a prize in the box) and my teacher didn’t realize it was in there because she “didn’t feel it” because it was so light (it’s a plastic necklace what was I supposed to put in there bricks?) so while she took out all the others so that they wouldn’t get stolen she left mine in my box and guess what I never saw again? If you guessed the locket you are correct
Now I have stolen things before (sometimes just me being a dumb kid taking toys and once even a crayon home from my preschool but the 2 latest times which were a few years ago was because I genuinely forgot I was holding them in my hand and 1 of those things was a small pumpkin) but the kids who took my stuff should have known better and that’s why people getting their stuff taken from them makes me so mad
Oh my gosh I just realized how long that was I am so so sorry you don’t have to read it all I am sorry
@@rosepuppy1984 yeah it was pretty wordy but I'm a speedreader so we good
@@Quesoquantum lol I’m a speed talker
Fidget spinners are amazing they always help me remover the good times and help with my anxiety and adhd
I still wear those high tops and everyone says “omg! Those are so so cool!!!” So stuff you!
Converse are awesome! I’m a middle schooler now and they’re still the most popular shoes at my school. But idc if they’re trendy or not, they’re amazing.
I thought my video was on times 2 speed like holy crap you talk fast.
Converse slander? 😐😐
We dont accept
i have autism and adhd and fidget spinners were a favorite of mine.
As someone who actually needed fidget spinners, I appreciate you addressing that they had use instead of just putting them down
…I still have converse. I painted mine with blood splatters. Converse are awesome (they’re also my mom’s favorite)
The fidget spinners thing hits hard.
( I have adhd and I know others with attention disorders and so many fidget toys are banned at my school because someone on TikTok made them way to popular and now the people who need them to concentrate can’t have them without being called cringy or distracting)
Yeah, i have asd, anxiety, adhd and i hate how everyone made fidgets so mainstream :( bc now people only perceive them as toys
Fun fact fidget spinner’s and other fidget toys were made for people with adhd and because everyone started playing with them they got banned in my school so the people like me who desperately needed them to focus and sit still couldn’t use them
I'm so glad you mentioned how fidget spinners are made to help people but people use it as a toy!!!!
what exactly makes them different from a toy?
Converse are just cool, live with it😎
Idc converse are cool. They are the only thing I can wear with black tshirts lol. But the Spencer’s thing is so accurate lmao
Fidget spinners were supposed to help people who needed a small thing to fidget with during class but then everyone bought them so they got banned even for the people who ACTUALLY needed them. (I know this because my brother was one of the people who needed a fidget.)
Converse ate awesome
I stand by this statement
They're comfy for me to wear plus they look good imo
Popularizing fidgets made it impossible for those of us who needed them to have access them as they were getting banned. Even with it in my IEP teachers still told me I couldn't use them.
Converses are AMAZINGGG
Converse are actually very cool looking. Maybe not the white and black ones anymore because everyone wore only those colours but the other colours are really cool.
Yo. Leave me and my converse alone man. Imma wear them every day if I want to. Legit some of the best shoes out there
I remembered when I sold loom bands, my mom would yell at me for not going to bed early and spent time working on my bracelets..
Ahh what a memory…
as soon as i saw the fidget spinners i was like “nooo he’s gonna shit on them, they were made to help adhd ppl😭” and then you went about it in the exact right way. thanks so much. it’s actually so great when ppl talk about that.
I love Converse’s!! I’m a basketball fan so I want a pair so much lol
converse are a classic, they’re the same shoes my parents had when they were my age and they are still fashionable today.
lmao, i still have and wear my converse from 6th grade. they’re extremely damaged but it’s just memories. they banned fidget spinners, slime, water bottles in school. i look back and damn. kinda miss middle school but shit was hell for me
I have a fidget spinner!! Yeah, it's so helpful for me. Beyond the main use, my favorite was the pink one my step-dad won for me, its a major comfort tool
Fidget spinners had a few uses but the one I remember it for adhd because fidgeting helps some adhd people focus
i love converse
i actually customize them for people and get a good amount of money from it
also they are comfortable
Bay-Blades too! God everyone thought they were so cool😂💛
I loved fidget spinners- at the time I had no idea I had/have adhd. they were so fun to play with. I still Love them tbh
I have major anxiety and ADHD so fidget spinners did help me a lot. But I couldn't use it anymore because my school banned them and my anxiety went through the roof and I got distracted way too often. Thankfully I found something else to help me but it sucks that my school banned them even though they actually helped me.
Converse actually look pretty nice
nah converse are hella nice shoes
I was so sad when I grew out of my red converse high tops. I was also weirdly proud that they were a hand me down from my cousin. I didn't even look up to him that much lol
Converse are great! I’m in high school and almost everyone including me has a pair! The high tops are great!
Chucks are amazing. I'm an 80's baby, so this is the shoe of our generation.
Converse are always cool, and you can't convince me otherwise
At my school fidget spinners became insanely popular one day and once I got one and came to school the next day the hype was pretty much over
Fidget Spinners were really cool when I was in the 5th grade and they got so cool that we weren’t aloud to even bring them to school. If they caught you,you would get them taken away
The fidget spinner one hits too close to home and honestly it's just the case w ANY fidget "toy" ever. They are designed to help people w things like focus or stress management but they get so oversaturated and just seen as toys
That one about the converse is so true I rock them with pride and know exactly what he’s talking about
I have autism. My mom got me a fidget spinner... I still have it and it is fun to fiddle with. I definitely helps calm me down when I get stressed
I used to have shoes like that except they were kind of like a tannish brown with white it had the same star symbol on the side
Fidget spinners were meant to help with anxiety and adhd and whatnot. They ended up with the same fate as service dogs, bad people ruining a good thing.
As an alt child who also have anxiety struggles, 1 converse look like they’d give my feet no room at all, and 2 I liked fidget spinners cuz they helped me have something to focus on so I wouldn’t think about how everyone could possibly hate me and suddenly leave me at any point in time
Converse is still cool and I'm 33. They are iconic and look good when you're just wearing them around.
