      It would depend on what "lesser-known" was meant to mean. A Liteville 301CE Mk2 limited - sure. A Gamux Sego (downhill mtb without motor) - 100%. But some questionable no-name bike from your Aldi-discounter supermarket - probably not, if I hadn't got additional background information about surprisingly superb quality. Cheers! - That being said, a POLE e-mtb seemed like a nice option too, hadn't they gone bankrupt last week. Oh, and I would also buy an add-on motor-kit from Aden Sports that I tried out on Eurobike last year and loved its brute force power.

      The last time I bought a niche bike they went belly up directly afterwards. So I better stay away from those now to not getting them into trouble. Cheers to Vitus 🙂

      Yes, but more importantly I'm saving my pennies for a Pinion drive. Anything else is just the same thing as my first two EMTBs (2016 Bulls Twenty9 E RSI named Monica, and currently on a 2020 Specialized Turbo Levo named Elsa). All the EMTB gains over the past 4 years are incremental, and really not worth a $6k investment.

      Yes...for me, being a casual rider, the cost of big brand ebikes are prohibitively expensive. I am not looking to win any races nor do I care if I have the best of the best. I bought a full suspension catalogue bike from a "brand" in Canada (Voltbike) with the intention of upgrading some of the budget parts. I would not have gotten back into riding otherwise. Having said that, my previous mountain bike was a Haro I bought brand new in the early 2000's.

    If the Demo weekends are anything like US demo days remember and take your credit or bank card along or you won't get a shot and anything you break you pay for! They have a system and set amounts for dints, chips to frame seen someone being deducted 100 bucks for scratching a frame up falling off a wall dropping in

    With companies as large as TREK going under...how can these never heard of brands be making it?

    • @AK-ContentCreatIon
      @AK-ContentCreatIon Місяць тому +2

      Because they didn't order 200000 EXTRA frames and all parts thinking that the hype of the lockdown frenzy bike shopping will continue on... And have a strong customer base

    • @TheRealOrangeGringo
      @TheRealOrangeGringo Місяць тому +3

      Trek aren’t “going under”. They are reacting to the current situation they have found themselves in. And they are maybe being a little more transparent than other brands, because they will all be doing the same. Basically scaling back to match the current market.

    To the Cycle 2 work question, i went for a full suspension emtb for the UK roads! My mate got a hardtail ebike on cycle to work scheme your limited to what there is avaliable, keep that in mind and at a budget his option was best for a hardtail than a cheap full sus! Sales on just now eg, for 2300 on sale to 1600 plus 10% off for the cycle 2 work but he loves my full sus alot more! it's best of both worlds if want to take it off road! The hard tail on UK roads in Scotland here you might need a suspension seatpost but the options for hardtails on cycle 2 work scheme aren't great at the moment really look into who has the scheme in place and what your budget is, I'd definitely recommend going for a full sus emtb for the road's! Especially if your jsut getting back into being on a bike and are an old die hard trail hunter missing in action for a few year's, as soon as you get back on the full sus with a motor you'll not be off it! I got it to help loose weight aswell it's great for getting out!

    3200Wh will not let you ride 8000m altitude... a powerful bike like this is not ridden like a 85Nm emtb... with the available power, it's being used, and battery use efficiency drops about 2 fold.

    • @AK-ContentCreatIon
      @AK-ContentCreatIon Місяць тому +1

      I think so too. on a good day my 720 Wh last about 1300hm... even with light assist ETMB eco mode you can't go up 8000m vertical, mind you 8850 with 3200Wh... this would be more like 6500m ... And I have a very efficient 48V motor....

    • @vashon100
      @vashon100 Місяць тому +1

      The temp on Everest would kill the battery. LOL

    • @JoLe1991
      @JoLe1991 Місяць тому +1

      @@AK-ContentCreatIon absolutely. 1300m is a good result on 720Wh. I have 1kWh with a 160Nm motor, it rips up the hill, and noone would ever ride this at "eco" level on uphills. if I pedal hard, I might get 1500m with 1kWh on more or less smooth ground.
      the main problem is, you get used to powerful motors VERY quickly. it's hard to run it at low power, let alone go back to weaker motors.

    • @AK-ContentCreatIon
      @AK-ContentCreatIon Місяць тому +1

      @@JoLe1991 I have the Sachs RS with 800W peak/112 Nm in 48V... What I found is, that I always use 140 w avg of my own power... If I dont have any assistance I still use 140w from my muscles but need a lot more time to ride the same distance...naturally... I enjoy every ride... but sure. I love it too, to be able to have "endless" assistance.... But basically I only use the motor, if i need more, than what I can give or have in me... I sweat with analog or ebikes I love that burning in my muscles...
