- Okay I've got 2 more episodes of TIYL for you before we go motor racing on this channel there will still be TIYL if your all good. Our first episode of the day takes us back to Albert Square to surprise a man who's well known throughout many different generations. Some of you will know him as troublemaker Peter "Tucker" Jenkins on Grange Hill and spin off series Tuckers Luck in the late 70s and early 80s, some will also know him as lovable Mark Fowler in Eastenders during the 90s, others will know him for his tenure on The Bill in the 00s where he played one of the most corrupt and deranged characters ever to grace Sun Hill PC Gabriel Kent while others will remember for his run on Dancing on Ice in 2009 where he provided perhaps the most hilarious moment in the history of the show when danced to "Help" by The Beatles. Enjoy as Michael Aspel and the big red book say "Leave It Out Tucker" to Todd Carty.
Many years back, a mate of mine who worked behind the scenes in TV worked with Todd - told me the guy was absolute class!
😮
❤❤
How can anyone from the 80s not remember Grange Hill..
Good old days 😌
I was in it the ziggy and gonch era
And not to forget the Grange Hill spin off Tuckers Luck. Starring Todd Carty as far as i know all episodes are available on UA-cam
How could Todd Carty not recognize Susan Tully's voice?
Todd Carty is a National Teasure. This was well deserverd - and great to see Norman Wisdom too!
Todd will always be Tucker
What a polite man. Impressed.
Todd is a national treasure.
Excellent. unexpectedly brought me to tears as i also have watched his career bloom like a beautiful flower since the first episode of Grange Hill.
These are the EastEnders cast I remember - was able to watch it on PBS in the late 1990s
I saw Todd Carty at the BBC studios in 1978, he was on his lunch break from the shooting of one of the many episodes of Grange Hill. I remember how we both stared at each other for a while. He must of been thinking if i was going to be the new character on the Grange Hill television show.
Who else came here after completing "Tucker's Luck"?....
Me.😄
Me 😅
Tucker, Alan and Benny! Reunited at last!
I loved Tucker's Luck. I was the same age as Tucker was ment to be in Grange Hill and Tucker's Luck; so I could really relate to it. Brilliant and I remember it like yesterday and I'm 50 now.
I hear you my friend. Where did the time go?
RIP Terry, Michael and Hilary. Grange Hill was brilliant then. Plus Gwyneth who died last week
My Dad was the headmaster, he said it was great fun doing the show😊
Love him , so glad he was a great actor.
I've met Todd carty at the Alexander Palace motorcycle show lovely guy
No u aint
In my life I am related to Todd Carty in a long lost relative sort of way, as his father was the brother to my late Grandfather, who passed away in 2000, and it’s quite complicated for my family to believe it, and not everyone of my friends believe it, either.
That makes Todd your 2nd cousin.
@@The_Invisible_Self Long Lost Second Cousin more like
@@lewiscarty5517Hi Lewis, You could contact the talent agency that manages him, if interested in making contact with him.
amazing to see susan tully and alan sitting together.
George Armstrong was around 15/16 years old when he started on Grange Hill. An enormous age difference when you consider he was playing an 11 year old!
Wife is a babe!
Todd Carty was one of EastEnders' most prominent performers, for me. The story of Mark made such an impact, it was educational and eye opening without making the character a one dimensional portrayal solely about living with HIV.
Brilliant - funny he looks very young here.
You can tell from his performances he's a nice man.
Thanks for the share.
This is your life Todd carty was the best ever along with Christopher mchallem & nick berry. Met all 3 men in Oxfordshire very nice men.
seeing todd with his kids at the end was just amazing.
I don’t know why it’s amazing, he probably sees them every single day
I have always liked him. Tucker's Luck was brilliant. Grange Hill, of course.
I never knew that. Ty, for the info..
Love todd ive met him hes a very gentle mannered man
No u aint
Todd seems like just a funny guy. Shows his range when he went on to play such a dark character on the bill
So was this due covid?
@@mandyepthorp8075 no nowhere near
Mandy this was filmed years ago Todd isn’t in EE now his character died. Wendy Richards, who played Mark’s mum in ee and 3 of the cast from Grange Hill mr Mitchell,Tuckers mum and Benny are sadly no longer with us.
Thank you for loading that Todd Carter this is your life i remember him on Grange hill and eastenders
“Has it ever struck you that life is all memory, except for the one present moment that goes by you so quick you hardly catch it going?”― Tennessee Williams.
A great quote.
This is your life was excellent, great step back in time
Great to see this, I remember watching Grange Hill as a child, also saw Todd Carty in The Bill as a Baddie.
Gabriel
Kent
He was a very good baddie as well
He will always be remembered for his dancing on ice moment.
how can anyone forget that
"Eastenders" had PROPER 'talent' in those days. Todd, Wendy, Tamsin Outhewaite, Derek Martin, Martin Kemp, Kacey Ainsworth, Michelle Ryan... Can't understand why the last two, especially, didn't go on to do other big things..."Bionic Woman' reboot excepted!
Kacey has had a huge role in Grantchester since the beginning!
Glad you never mentioned Adam Woodyatt, he is without doubt and still is if he's trying to act today the worse actor ever to grace British screens.
Legend
Norman wisdom was a master of slapstick
that made me laugh he was a legend
He will always be known as Mark Fowler to me. That's what made him a real household name
Grange Hill made him a household name
@@lidd.. not as much as Mark Fowler that's how most will remember him
@@markkinrade2739 I’m not sure Grange Hill was a massive kids tv show when he was the star
@@alannahfidler3418 eastenders is huge compared to grange hill so either way that made him more of a celebrity household name
@@markkinrade2739 i disagree he was the main character in Grange Hill so he was more prominent in that than Eastenders, I think your underestimating how popular Grange Hill was in its early days. Ultimately Tucker Jenkins made him who is
What a lovely "feel good" show.
This aired before he took on the role which people loved and hated him the bent Gabriel Kent on the Bill who he protrayed very well
how nice to see nick berry
My babies Sue Tully and Nick Berry!!!!
Cor the amount of kissing they do in these shows, its got to be a record, every time someone comes on
And it proves you can't get HIV from kissing
Obviously pre covid 😊
❤ Todd
Those West Ham youngsters!
Tell Bobby Sue, the Grange First and Middle School lot are on fb. Miss her x
Wow first time I've seen Michelle/Sue Tully after she left EE!!!
legend
Thought it was funny when he away sit down and then Eamonn Andrews said you mother from Eastenders Wendy( toddy carty saying oh Wendy 😂
Eamonn Andrews? you mean Michael Aspel
His missus looks like a young Ronnie O'Sullivan.
Christ this must have been a slow news week. Todd Aids Mark Folwer Carty got a this is yer life ??? Hahah😅
When everyone got a TIYL. 😂
a milkman got it once
More famous than most then 😂
Todd could of played Ian Brown in a film about the Stone roses
Filmed in 2000
Gabriel Kent
RIP Todd
now image if they waited til after The Bill... therd be more coming out eh...
When Eastenders was watchable
Strange how Michael Aspell refers to Todd’s dad, as his mums husband, as oppose to ‘your mum & dad, Maggie & Tom.’
Maybe it's his step dad
He's original name was Jennings so I guess that was his step dad
peter amberley His name is still Jennings, his mum suggested switching it to Carty as it sounds better for acting purposes. He does actually look like his father who appears on This is your life.
@@ZeldaFitz I remember when he changed it in about 74 I assumed he's mum remarried. How do you know why he changed it?
peter amberley Todd has mentioned it in interviews in the past.
Loved tucker Trisha Judy and Ann
Mr.Springall (sp) was my headmaster at Roxeth Manor. I used to be the dinner monitor and he used to love fish fingers n chips with mint sauce. He always had six fish fingers but only five by the time I got to his office. I’d imagine he’s passed now. Great man.
I was at Roxeth Manor as well when he was Headmaster - he is still going strong by all accounts at 93....
@@timevans3562
Have you got a brother called Jason? I was at Rooks Heath with a Jason Evans who lived near Dave’s Gym. Either way, thanks for the info as I thought he would have popped his clogs by now. I remember Miss. Hixon, Tilakapala, Adlem and Mr.Scaysbrook, Reed from both schools. How did you find out about Springall? Sorry for the question mate. Oh and I remember Miss. Clutterbuck. 😂
@@JAY1892 No brother, sorry! Went to Roxeth Manor Infants and Juniors 1964-1971 then went on to another school, so dont know some of the teacers you mentioned. Lived in Balmoral Road. Theres a facebook page about Roxeth Manor in the 1970s - thats how I found out - Mr Springalls son posts there.
@@timevans3562
I know Balmoral! Thank you for the heads up. Went and saw he’s still going strong. You made my day. We grew up in better times.
The taxi driver didn't look like he wanted to be there.
He’s not much of an actor but he’s got something 😊
Where is he now?

Shes the former actress Wendy, last programs are.you being serves,

PC 416 Fowler, Sun Hill
He's got a big face.
When did this originally broadcast?
If Norman was 85, then about 2000.
There was no mention of Dancing on Ice!!!
@@alastairhopkins245 cos this was filmed way before doi
Alastair Hopkins doh this was broadcast about 15 years before Dancing on Ice

His done it All child actor to adult star from his early days to the Bill as Tucker he was brilliant a good guy always trying to do the right thing I think it's about time for Tucker to return in 2020 see what happened to the boy who was lucky Tucker most of time the BBC should bring him back in a one of episode As Tuckers Lives 2020
He was 35
He'd had a 30 year career at this point
It better when younger depressing when there older sad watching the human body degrade
That wife is the most slappable woman ever....
Yeah she's sickeningly sweet and so whingey!
Todd's wife?
Joseph and today TV 😀
Hes dead oh goodness.so sad hes were. A soul mates.yes she's found somes.one thats fix in.her catog...
