This is one song that most every culture can relate to. Country Boy does not refer to a person's race. It refers to a way of life. There are country folk in every state. My grandpa taught me a lot growing up, most everything in this song was how he grew up and tried to bestow in his family. I grew up close to the city, but my heart lies in the country. A shotgun, a rifle and 4 wheel drive was a necessity for life and remains true today.

Bocephus is the best country entertainer ever. Guy can play 14 instruments, write a song in 10 minutes and make you feel his music. Guy had 9 albums in the top 75 at one time. No one before or since ever did that.
I feel I was very lucky to grow up with a family just like he's talking about. Mom could grow ANYTHING in the garden. Dad taught all of us, even us girls, to hunt and fish a little, and grandma taught us how to can vegetables and meat. When covid was at it's worse and people couldn't get out to the stores easily we shared vegetables from the garden with all the neighbors. Nobody went without anything they needed.

It is because of Hank that the phrase "Country Music is the white man's blues" is a truism. Check out "You Cheating Heart" or my own personal favourite "Kaw Liga".

Hanks father is such an original. A dirt road poet whosesongs will live on and on and on. Hank junior here is very different. Honestly not really my favorite, but nonetheless really good, and he's earned his place in the history of country music. Hank the third is punk country, and while I find some of his music not to my tastes, he's quite good. And now there's Hank the forth, but I haven't listened to him yet. Music runs deep in this family bloodline
HANK WILLIAMS SR. was one of the Great Country Singers back in the 50's., and HANK WILLIAMS JR. Followed his Dad in Singing Country Music his way. He's a good Friend of, ALAN JACKSON. The song, Country Boys Can Survive, came Out in 1981. I've cleaned his Jet Airplane when he was in., Greenville, SC. F.P.
Hank, Sr. was a legend. When he died, the country music industry tried to turn Hank, Jr. into him. When Jr. rebelled the industry turned their backs on him. He created his own sound and the rest is history. He often pokes them in the eye, especially in Family Tradition. You should listen to I'll Never Get Out of this World Alive from the album Three Hanks. It is Junior with his son Hank the third, and Hank Sr.'s music filtered in. Awesome (and I don't use that word frivolously). Although Hank the third sounds so much like Sr., he went his own way with music, too.
Wow! One of the best country songs ever! No joke, a country boy can survive. Great reaction!! Y'all were great. Hank Williams Jr is real country. Nothing fake about that fella!
Watching you guys connect was rewarding. An honest acceptance of the values connects us in many levels. While your on a country roll I have a suggestion that will be a contrast to this one & it will be relevant to you guys as a couple since one is city & the other is country. I think it will be one of your favorites: “Small Town Girl” by Steve Wariner (Beautiful song)
My wife and I are proud southerners from Deep South Texas. I grew up in Colorado and moved back to Texas after graduating high school. I grew up in the mountains and that’s where I feel most at home. Ain’t nothing anyone could throw at me that I’m not ready for. You guys are so on point with that. Is country boys stay ready, just how we were raised. We work hard and are fiercely protective of our homes and family. You know from growing up in the south and with your Pops how he is. We are polite to everyone unless you pose a threat and when that line has been crossed, only God can save you then. We are just a different breed I guess!!!! The other thing is there ain’t nothing like some good home cooked southern comfort food. Fried chicken, okra, cornbread, Mac and cheese…..plus you couldn’t go to a friend’s house or family member’s house without being fed by everyone. It’s definitely a slower pace of life, but God the people are amazing and the values we have are the beautiful thing. Literally exchanging services with a neighbor when neither of y’all have money or just doing it out of the kindness of your heart because someone needs it. When things go sideways the cities will turn into graveyards and the hills and mountains will be where people work through it. So very glad I got to grow up that way.
"Blues Man" is a great example of how great Hank Jr is. It can play ever instrument on his stage and play it at the highest level. He will play rock, blues and country and then mix them all together
This song makes me think of my childhood so much. It REALLY makes me think of my dad. Hunting, fishing gardening, canning... even the homemade wine. There's something beautiful about growing up like that.
Country guy, here...my first time firing a gun was when I was 9. My parents had a pistol for protection (my dad was an over-the-road trucker and was away from home a lot), and they would take me with them whenever they would go for target practice. I got my own first gun for Christmas when I was 12, a Marlin bolt action .22 rifle, and was allowed to take it out into the woods by myself. My folks were confident that I had heeded their warnings and teachings; I knew a gun isn't a toy but a tool. Never really one for hunting unless absolutely necessary (no hate for hunters, though, of course), I focused more on the precision aspect of shooting. At my high school, there were guns displayed in just about every other vehicle (lots of my classmates headed straight from school to the woods during hunting season)...and no one ever thought about using one because of a problem with someone, not even after getting their ass kicked in a fight. It simply wasn't even a consideration. We do, however, make our own whiskey and our own smoke, too...sipped on some mighty fine 'shine and puffed a few tasty pipes whilst camping with friends over the 4th of July weekend. I moved to the city when I was 30, but it didn't take long for the woods to call me back home. Yeah...it's a 120-ish mile round trip to the nearest mall, but the peace and relaxation more than make up for such inconveniences. I don't even have to lock my doors at night or when I'm not home 🤘
I got to see Hank, Jr. in a free concert in Temple, TX, before he got very famous. One of my grandson's loved his music, and I was able to make it possible for him to see Hank, Jr. before he passed away. This song brought tears to my eyes. (I grew up on a farm, too.)
Me and Amber are kindred spirits. We both love Pink Floyd and we grew up in the Country. My wife is a pure city girl, but the country will always be in me, just like Amber. I love you two and wish you nothing but happiness.
He was at his cabin in Montana and fell off a mountain and broke most of his bones in his face as well as other injuries and barely survived. He wrote a song about it . " Two Dot Montana." Please listen
His father was Hank Williams Sr old country music. Next should be Whiskey Bent & Hell Bound. He started off in life singing his father's songs more less pushed into it to keep his dad's memory alive. As he got older he went into his style of country music. His Dad's Hank Sr most famous song was Your Cheating Heart.. Check him out too. Check out Hank Jr Bio where he fell 600 ft and rip his face off he like to have died he's lucky to be alive. They nick name Hank Jr ( Bocephus ). Another great song is ( FAMILY Tradition ) a must to watch talks about family life. If you pay attention to his songs
Are you ready for some football Hank Williams Jr used to sing that song before Monday night football back in the day he's a good old country boy he's not fronting on that how about playing Edgar and Johnny winter's version of tobacco road live from 1970 I ask you everyday and I'm waiting anxiously
My Auto teacher in high school said that in the south, if you steal and you're gonna get caught, you pray it's the police instead of the people that live there.
That smile on your face, I could tell you were thinking of your dad😊 your childhood sounds just like mine! I still love bluegrass and classic country 😊❤
I did that all if my life until we had the bright idea to move to Florida. In the City. I can't sleep at night. Can't get comfortable. We're going home as soon as we can. Lol
Every country girl and boy from where I come from. It’s a pretty much “theme song”. 🥰✌🏼 Great pick. Total jam. Hank Williams Jr.’s life story is pretty intriguing. As you get older, you’ll appreciate the country more.
Country folks are the most friendly people. Here where I live in western Oklahoma people wave to one another as the meet each other driving down the highway. It maybe nothing more than raising their fingers up off the steering wheel but it is still a howdy. If your having car trouble they will stop to check on you and help if the can. If you go to their house and visit you won't get away till they fed you a meal. It's just good ole country hospitality.
I love y'alls reaction to this, I can see you honestly enjoyed it. That song is religion for some of us and that's not a bad thing it's pretty special.
Amazing! Having to lock my doors was the most culture shocked I’ve ever been. I just could not comprehend people would do bad things to their own community. This song and your reaction makes me miss the country so damn much. Great video
Hey guys. I have a PS to my other comment. Watching Ms. Amber loving the memories of being a country girl made me think of a couple songs you should listen to. Try the official video of Gretchen Wilson doing Red Neck Woman, and look for the Bellamy Brothers doing Red Neck Girl. both good tunes about country girls. Look for cameo appearances in Gretchen's video from Hank Jr and his buddy Kid Rock, and Tanya Tucker.
Well Amber I would say that your dad did a really good and wonderful job on raising you up and thank you and him for being so opened minded and very great people in this country coming across your channel I’m just hooked to the both of you and your reviews are just awesome and great as well. Keep up the great work.

Hank has a song for everything.
That song right there is a masterpiece of country music.
“Y’all stay ready for everything!” When you live miles away from town, you have to be ready.
This is basically the Rural American people’s anthem

HANK WILLIAMS SR. was one of the Great Country Singers back in the 50's., and HANK WILLIAMS JR. Followed his Dad in Singing Country Music his way. He's a good Friend of, ALAN JACKSON. The song, Country Boys Can Survive, came Out in 1981. I've cleaned his Jet Airplane when he was in., Greenville, SC. F.P.
It's hard to believe this song is 40 years old, and still timeless
Hank, Sr. was a legend.
Hey. I was there in the day. All of your facts are WRONG.
This song was a staple on the jukeboxes at the local bars back in the 80s. Love it! One of Hank’s best.
Wow! One of the best country songs ever! No joke, a country boy can survive. Great reaction!! Y'all were great. Hank Williams Jr is real country. Nothing fake about that fella!
She knows how to do it! I loved her reaction to this gem I grew up with. The slow pace of living is the best pace.
You guys are blowing the hell up lol I didn’t even realize
Hank Jr and Hank Sr are COUNTRY MUSIC ROYALTY!
Hank III is also a badass, but on a whole different level.
Watching you guys connect was rewarding. An honest acceptance of the values connects us in many levels.
While your on a country roll I have a suggestion that will be a contrast to this one & it will be relevant to you guys as a couple since one is city & the other is country. I think it will be one of your favorites:
“Small Town Girl” by Steve Wariner (Beautiful song)
Respect to Mr. Hank Williams Jr. Love this song! Lots of truth!
Awesome song and great review! Love it! She was raised right!! I can relate to her!
Songs like this make me want to move back to the Country to raise my daughter... Awesome reaction 🤘🤘
"Blues Man" is a great example of how great Hank Jr is. It can play ever instrument on his stage and play it at the highest level. He will play rock, blues and country and then mix them all together
Hank Williams was his father, another old time country singer. This guy is Hank Williams Jr.
I LOVE YOU TWO!!!!! "Y'all all stay ready for everything"... YES WE DO!!!!!
Hank is talking about the American spirit
'Family Tradition' is another Hank Jr song you'll have to react to.
The Blues Man is also a must. All of his songs are amazing.
My favorite im a 93 baby and been listening to this legend since I was a young pup ... his dad is one of the first greats well
Are you ready for some football Hank Williams Jr used to sing that song before Monday night football back in the day he's a good old country boy he's not fronting on that how about playing Edgar and Johnny winter's version of tobacco road live from 1970 I ask you everyday and I'm waiting anxiously
It's rare in music today to actually have singers with great pipes, who don't cover their weaknesses with synthesized effects.
My Auto teacher in high school said that in the south, if you steal and you're gonna get caught, you pray it's the police instead of the people that live there.
Time for more HANK JR. Family Tradition,All My Rowdy Friends are a couple great ones!
That smile on your face, I could tell you were thinking of your dad😊 your childhood sounds just like mine! I still love bluegrass and classic country 😊❤
“Having to drive 30 minutes to town”, once a week and hope I don’t forget something because I’m not returning for another week.
Y’all done great on this. She done better since she’s country. Haha. Great job from a Kentucky fan.
I grew up in the same COUNTY with him
Excuse me I have Had FEW
Incredible people here! He definately deserves kudos! So proud of him and his dad!!!
Great video
If you want to hear the perfect country song, you need to do You Never Even Called Me By My Name by David Allen Coe.
Actually written by Steve Goodman and John Prine, both song-writing legends. Rest in Peace Steve and John.
It advertises as being the "perfect" country & western song. Here is a link to it: ua-cam.com/video/m_qfujQ_jTQ/v-deo.html.
Yaaaas! Really must do this one!
Yes!!! Such a good and funny song!
Absolutely one of the greatest
My generation is the last that I know of that was brought up the old ways. Kids need to know how to survive.
There’s a tear in my bear cause I’m crying for you dear.
We are going to make a country boy out of you yet!!
I love watching you guys!! Thank you for such good content! ❤️
Well Amber I would say that your dad did a really good and wonderful job on raising you up and thank you and him for being so opened minded and very great people in this country coming across your channel I’m just hooked to the both of you and your reviews are just awesome and great as well. Keep up the great work.
Ahhhh. 25 years ago.....our hang out The Lone Pine, playing pool, drinking beer, and singing this song every night. I live this life!!
We love our families and want to protect and provide for them.
