  • Who said Cruisers are slow and Can't handle the curves? This bike blows that myth outta the water. I had so much fun riding this beautiful 2016 Indian Scout. I am lucky to have gotten a chance to do a review on this American Beauty. Youngblood Powersports

    The limiter doesn't kick in till 8,000rpm FYI! Also if you were to really open it up, the torque never drops off as the Rpms rise, it actually pulls slightly harder the higher you go. This can absolutely be a beginners bike, I just took an MSF course and got my license to buy the flat black scout, it will just take a few rides to get used to the power. I love mine but a set of after market slip ons is a must for me, way too quiet stock. Nice vid

      Same here. I took the Riding Academy 3 day class just to get my M endorsement for the sole purpose of test riding the Scout. 1 test ride was all it took. I was looking at Moto Guzzi and Triumph, but I loved the Scout so much I went straight to the sales guy and placed a down for the 2017 Scout.

    I have had my Scout since December 2016 my first road bike/cruiser. After test riding other makes nothing compared to the Indian. The power opposed to other 1200cc bikes was huge a V Rod was comparable, but anything like 103 cube in the HD range the Scout is like a missile armchair compared to the opposition.

    Awesome video Bud, I've been interested in this bike since it was announced, I just can't take my eyes off of it, it's like that girl you want to ask out during the school days lol. I always find interesting to watch videos of people that are more into sport/super sport bikes trying cruisers, making their points with solid and not biased arguments, you seems to have a lot of fun riding that bike, and it should be like that no matter what kind of bike you have, considering the pavement hits the same for everyone lol Greeting from Colombia, ride safe!

    First off Nice! Ive been looking at bikes for the past few weeks really thinking of a sport bike.With that being said the Indian had caught my eye earlier on! And after seeing your video Indian will possibly move me to a cruiser that a crotch rocket.The styling of a HD kinda with even more style without the vibration mmm man! I've seen more bike reviews and videos then most guys will watch in their lives lol.But if I'm making a investment of that degree,research research! Your video stood out! Everything from viewpoint of a sport biker to the height and vibration and pick up.To even shooting on a gorgeous day! Really felt a bit better from having watched it! Certainly subscribed and look forward to checking out more of your shoots and reviews! Will post again and let you know if I do purchase the scout!Thanks

    I rode this bike for the first time a few days ago and I was blown away by how fast it is. I don't know if it's just an illusion because of the rapid torque delivery or what but right off the line this thing is faster than my 600. A second gear pull is pretty nuts, it'll put you well up to 80mph easily in seconds. The mirrors are trash in my opinion. It's too close. I would like them more towards the front of the bike. I also don't like the brakes, they felt too spongy. A light ass 450 pound sport bike has TWO massive 330m rotors with two 4-piston calipers....this scout has ONE 300mm rotor with a 2 piston caliper? For a bike that weighs 550 lbs? Wtf kind of engineering is that

  • @mikepitz9975

    Hey , how's the engine braking ?
    Do you find it soft?

    • @txgamer1347
      @txgamer1347 8 років тому

      I own a Scout 60 and I would say that yeah it's pretty soft. I usually only brake in 2nd or 3rd gear though

    • @maxbfromsc7320
      @maxbfromsc7320 7 років тому

      Know I am late, but I own a Scout... Engine breaking is almost non-existent unless you drop it all the way into 1-2. Bike makes up for it in every other way. Very fun to ride!

    I am watching your video six years after you had posted it on YT. It had came up on my suggested videos. Yesterday I had taken delivery on a 2022 Scout Black Metallic ABS. I haven't ridden a bike in 23 years, and after just a few minutes of playing with the clutch engagement, getting the feel of it, I was up and riding. It was a blast! Yes, these bikes are awesome to ride. The power is what had impressed me. I'm also 5'8", and this bike has a perfect feel for me. I'm use to dual sports, but I had adjusted to this cruiser quite easily. I do not regret my decision on my purchase.

    Have bought an Indian red scout form 2016 last march. Have put over 5.000 km's on it. Really love, love the bike. It encourages you to do some more miles. Cruisin is awfull, and the power... just incredible. On average I ride some 20 km's on one liter of petrol. I just love love love the bike. Always lookin forward to the next ride. Great review, it matches my experiences on the bike. All that ride an Indian Scout, nejoy and safe miles.

    Bought a 2016 Scout March 1 and couldn't be happier. Frankly, I'm not a good enough rider to put it through what it can do especially on the narrow mountain roads...but I am getting better. I can't imagine dragging the pegs like I thought might be the case. I've had it at 45 degrees and not close to the pegs. For those thinking of a windscreen, I bought a Memphis El Paso and it fits and looks good. At 100 mph, no vibration and just enough wind block to keep things real. The install was easy with moving the turn signals to a what I think as a better more solid position on the fork. Hardware is heavy duty. No flimsy bars and attachments that block the view. I have an easy release set up, so I can easily remove the screen for when I am just buzzing around town. Beware newbies, the second gear will catch you...in fact I was doing 70 and thought I would lug it down a bit going to 6th and it leaped out and hit 80 cause I didn't let off the throttle....good lesson...glad I had plenty of room on the interstate! GREAT BIKE...why am I writing and NOT RIDING?

    I have been jonesing for a Scout, so have watched a ton of reviews. Your is one of the better ones. Thank you for covering the heat question at the end. I've only seen one other that touched on it. You mentioned Arkansas and curves. Have you taken "The Pig Trail", Hwy. 23 south from Huntsville, Ar. ? One of the best curvy roads in the country & pretty close to you. Thanks again for an excellent review.

    Thanks for the nice review. I gotta chance to text ride one this week and just pulled the trigger on this exact bike yesterday. Getting off my 03 HD1200 that i have been riding for about four years i gotta say i will be so happy to not be vibrated to death on my daily ride. I love the vintage look and happy to support a piece of American motor history.

    As soon as I get my full license (the way we do licenses for motorbike in NZ means you are limited to a certain amount of ccs it's 660cc I believe until you get the full license) I'm going to the nearest dealer and buying an Indian I have heard nothing but good things about them and have decided I might was we'll get one as the unlike a hog will handle corners better something we have a lot of on NZ roads and they don't lack when it comes to speed and we can all agree the things look amazing

    As far as touring; I do it. The Scout is just fine on longer hauls. I've done 3 mountain passes in a day with camping gear strapped on. Done 600 miles in a day and been on the road for 6 days at a stretch. Has its limitations, but it will travel.
