- I have been drinking Huel for a long time and it's high time I shared how I feel about it! Huel has been a big part of my life and has helped me with my Inflammatory Bowel Disease (Ulcerative Colitis). I wanted to talk about the health benefits of this, how it has made figuring out diet easier, and why I think it's worth a go.

For those who dont like the gritty texture of the Huel drink, try making Huel pancakes. Its COMPLETELY revolutionized my daily intake. 1tsp baking powder, 2 scoops Huel, cup of milk. Mix well in a bowl and cook on medium until top bubbles, then flip. Goes super well with all Huel flavours. My personal fav is coffee caramel and also the chocolate one + I add a real banana sliced up. Delicious and 3 of these a day and you're set. Insane!

Huel contains sucralose. If you heat it over 120 °C (baking pancakes is much higher), it will create dioxins, which are highly toxic. Don't do that.
Sounds like too much work, takes the convenience out of the equation

I always wondered about the hype surrounding this over expensive protein powder. However, once I tried Huel, I understood. Skip the regular powder and go for the black edition. Also, their new pastas are great.
At least in the US you can buy 3.0 for less money per calorie then the USDA low cost food plan. It isn't that high in protein so I wouldn't necessarily use it as a protein powder unless you actually buy their overpriced protein powder. Even black addition would be a although fairly high in protein for a meal wouldn't really make the best protein powder.

I love Huel. I blend it with almond milk to make it thick. I only use it for morning breakfast replacements though
It tastes so much better with almond milk! People who just drink it with water are missing out.

I had my very first Huel today. I mixed peanut butter. It was more delicious than I thought it was going to be. No wonder people are raving about it.

Yea I would love an update! I only ocassionaly buy ready to drink huel now, mostly eat whole foods as much as possible now.

Yea it is, its about double the price of the powder, but if I am stuck for lunch at work or something, it is nice to pick one up from the supermarket near me, rather than buying a meal deal or something! @@pentree986

Does the bloating go away and why do I hardly need a shit? Constipation, Blockage or just not a lot of solid waste to evacuate? Also, reflux from the shakes, not so much reflux from the savoury. Is there really an adjustment period for your digestive system or is it just not for me. I've also completely lost my hunger I was expecting to be ravenous but I'm just not hungry at all. Before I started this stuff the thought of a buttered brick made me peckish.
Sounds like quite a reaction your having. How was your diet before? I do get some days where a huel gives me a bit of a gut ache, never had reflux.
Yea it can be pretty filling actually, as long as your getting enough food throughout the day I wouldn't worry about not being hungry.

You might already know this, but they have a latte flavour for Huel and a coffee caramel for Huel Black now. (In the US, that is)

Happy to hear it help with your ulcerosa colitis. I have the same disease, and thought about huel. So i might consider it.
I think a lot of the benefits came down to huel giving me constant refills of vitamins and electrolytes. As we who suffer with IBD don't absorb nutrients quite as well as others.

I agree but i believe this is still better than what most people normally eat on weeks where they are stressed from work like mcdonalds and stuff.
