  • This year, I've changed how I approach making UA-cam content, and how it's improved my mental health. In this video, I talk about a few strategies you can take to prevent mental issues, burnout, or completely crashing as a UA-cam creator. This is how to stay sane.

I forgot one thing, and this is important for anyone, especially new UA-camrs: Don't worry about the numbers. They can add stress when it's not needed. Early on, your focus should be on getting practice making the videos, but having fun doing it. Only getting 10 views? Don't worry about it, keep going. Growing slowly? Don't worry about it, just keep practicing. The first 100 videos are your practice period. Try to improve on something in each video. Just pick one thing to improve, and don't worry about trying to have professional-looking videos right away.

Your video was perfectly timed for my situation! I'm a brand new UA-camr, and to be perfectly honest, before I've even uploaded one video, I've felt discouragement. Analysis paralysis, so to speak. Between learning how to edit and learning how to talk, the supposed pressure to upload regularly, then on top of all that comparing my results with those minecrafters I watch, it's almost enough to make me give up. Deep down, I know that's an absurd standard at my level, so I've been trying to lower the bar for myself to make it more attainable.
You reminded me of the most important factor, though. We do this because we enjoy it. It's supposed to be fun! So thank you, good sir.😁😁 I really needed this to re-motivate and re-assess.

I never thought That the statment you said don't worry about posting it daily or weekly is a great metafore especially when people
demand you to make your videos faster or else they will unsubscribe feeling yet it is very discouraging to think about it.
Like not being good enough on youtube but, I found my self that I don't have to please people on youtube or the demands of the algorithm to publish daily.
Because I love my passion and taking long breaks Mostly taking long breaks when I feel if my projects posing on youtube feels overwhelming,
I'm so glad that I have to motivation to learn and study about my metal health and not be on youtube 24/7 Thank you so much.

One thing that is important is to follow your plans either by being more creative or collaborations with others. Or just do other things then come back with fresh me eyes.

Y'know, as an aspiring youtuber who recently pivoted to minecraft stuff, this video really helps a lot. This is exactly what I needed 👍

Glad this helps! I can’t believe I forgot one thing in this video. Don’t worry about sub and view counts, especially early on. Focusing on those can discourage new UA-camrs, but most of us went through those tough early days. Instead, just enjoy what you’re making.

Even though I am not a youtuber, I imagine this video will help any other youtubers out there who end up watching. There is some great advice in this video.
I also figure that it probably helps your sanity to make these walking and talking videos.
I thoroughly enjoy listening and learning about Minecraft and what makes you, the creator, do what you do. Its different and refreshing. Keep it up JayDee and your viewers will stick around for a long time. :)

I enjoy doing these kinds of videos. They require far less planning, and it's mostly just train of thought. This is almost like a vlog channel, though I do other things, too.

I genuinely believe that mass uploading or stressing yourself to upload on set days will genuinely work against most people at some point. This should be fun and not feeling like genuine work. It doesn't go well with creativity. Unless you do non-rehearsed commentary maybe.

Creativity can really suffer if you're pushing yourself to upload on certain days. Sometimes, you run out of time and you upload a subpar quality video.
