@@briarfox637 I have a budget baitcaster the Abu Garcia max X and with the right settings I can bomb casts without thumbing so I’m guessing it’s probably the same but better since it’s higher quality than mine
@@9inegaming377 I took my wife fishing the other day, and gave her the baitcaster without thinking. I started setting up my daughter and boy with popping corks and showing them where to cast. I turn around and my wife had already cast the Lews. I must've set it up right because I asked how she cast it, no thumb, just thrown out there. lol
Hi. Just bought a Lews Classic Pro CP1SHL Speed Spool Baitcaster , great tutorial. What line would you recommend? I do alot of sea lure fishing nothing large. Kind Regards Chris
Hey I noticed nobody answered your question. I only fish for bass And I really like monofilament I’m not sure how that will work for what you are fishing for. I don’t think I would recommend braided line because my friend had it on his baitcaster and he had nothing but trouble with it. Granted he was a beginner. But it snapped a lot. But it could work for you
@@christimms102 mono is the only thing I’ve ever used. I had bought braided because all the videos I’ve watched they used braided so I thought that was the best and only kind to use for a baitcaster. I have no idea how these guys make braided line look so easy
@@assbags420 usually 50 or 60 lb braid to 12 to 20 lb line. Kinda depends on the guides though. Don't buy micro guides those things are horrendous for line to line methods.
Dont waste your money on this... I have $1000’s of dollars in my fishing gear. I own the Lews tournament speed spool. Absolutely garbage, there is NO setting that will stop a backlash. The shops said these reels are “lemons” absolutely garbage. 1/10.
Lol backlash is because you don't know how to use it. I've used cheap combo baitcasters and I'm able to control backlash when others can't. It's all about the finesse. You gotta love it like it's a preteen boy in a priest's bedroom. .

@@briarfox637 Damn those settings must of been perfect, I had that happened with my dad but he backlashed it so bad I had to re spool my reel😂

Learning how to tie leaders is critical to taking a 100 dollar combo and making it as sensitive as a high end combo.

All I can say is, if you can't figure out how to use a Lews Speed Spool, you aren't going to figure out how to use a baitcaster. GET A SPINNING REEL!

The combined settings and a bit of skill will reduce backlash.
