Hey thanks. I’m a newb, finally picked this game up after keeping an eye on it for a few years. These seem like solid tips to keep me from getting chewed on too badly :)
The building layers of walls is a really good tip! I had a bad habit when I started playing of deleting my walls once I made them and it can honestly ruin your whole run.
The best tip for this game is how to enable the alternate grid view, which you have recorded this video in - but you don't even mention how to enable that. :D For the curious people it's F4. Also, don't waste gold and wood on wood towers early on - they just help to accumulate sound from your units and you will be attacked much more.
Thanks for the tips. This game is challenging. From perspective that if one or just a few zombies get thru into your colony and infect one of your buildings, it is very difficult to get back into the game. Particularly if your tesla towers get infected and you don’t have enough money to repair. I have this game on PS5 actually since my gaming console is attached to a 75” TV. And I just use a mouse with an extension cord to play on the couch.
I've noticed the AI using cheap tactics. If it's a map I've played before and I know where zombies are coming from and I build a large defense to deal with the raid, the zombies know this as soon as they spawn and will simply walk to the other side of the map and go around my defenses before they even see it. The zombies should be mindless and just run in straight lines towards your colony. They shouldn't telepathically just know where all your defenses are as soon as they spawn and know how to get around them
Build while paused. You get back the full value of the building if you put it somewhere by mistake and need to remove it. Manage noise. Noise draws nearby Zs and they can become an unstoppable horde if there is a village nearby. Rangers are quieter than soldiers. Construction is loud, destruction of structures is even louder. Zs attacking a wall make noise that will attract more so try to kill stragglers with rangers before they reach the wall if you want to avoid noise. Definitely play on lower difficulties if you're struggling. This game is brutal but fair. I played most of the campaign on 50% because 100% is too hard for me on some maps. For Survival, it's good to restart early if it's a difficult layout. Restart a few times until you get a map with more space or resources, so you have a better chance of success.
Hey… I never in 1 million years thought I would like this game.. but I got obsessed with it.. it’s very satisfying. I’m looking for games I like it .. 1. Do you have any goto alternatives just like this game? 2. A mysterious game came out not too long ago maybe within the last two years… It was sort of medieval fantasy.. there was a lot of whiteness (white environments, white buildings, white sprites, ). It was a one-word title… 3 to 4 syllables. I cannot find it anywhere… I think it was just like they are billions. do you have any idea what game I might be thinking about?
Maybe frostpunk Its not an rts but the game might hit that same feeling I would also recommend into the breach for a turn based tactics game If you are looking for an rts with a good canpaign then it might be hard to find I have heard age of mythology has a good campaign and the recently remastered it Starcraft also has a campaign that you can play for free (except sc2’s part 2 and 3 of the campaign)
@@dj_koen1265 I can’t get along with the age of Empire types of games because they don’t have a ‘pause and plan’ button. a ‘pause and plan’ button in RTS is the natural evolution of these games… stelaris has a ‘pause and plan’ button. All these modern games have the pause and plan button. The first place I saw the button was in FTL. It was the most innovative thing I ever saw at the time. I played into the breach .. it’s really hard to come by these days. It should be a mobile game too, but iOS only sells it with a condition that you have Netflix too. Gay. If you really like into the breach, I recommend you play Shogun Showdown. I’m gonna look into StarCraft. I hear so many good things.. Honestly, I think Anno 1800 is going to give me my fix. I need something that has city building and defense. They are billions offers a great experience because you don’t have to worry about the emotional needs of the people… as long as they have enough food they’re fine. This was a big selling point.
This is one of those games where the devs start off with a tutorial and then completely abandon it two minutes later. Why bother programming that into the game when a YTer can do it for free?

will say the one goo thing about random wall is the zombies will target em over houses if they are few and not to many

Sensationally superb content of splendidness 🔥 🔥 👍 You have my support, have a fantastical day 💯
Big like Grizzly 👍
How do I toggle on the map overlay that shows the discrete boundaries of forest, water, and other impassable terrain?
f4, green= forest, sadly it doesn't exactly show the water as an impassable terrain
If you like RTS, have you ever played Age of Empires: 2 DE? If not, would you consider playing? Can really recommend it.
What is the key command to show fields of fire? I found it once by accident.

"Age of Darkness: Final Stand" is a fantasy genre take on They Are Billions. Not as good, but you might enjoy it.
💯
@1:52 what movie/show is this scene from? I swear I’ve seen it somewhere? It’s not Resident Evil is it?
I'm pretty positive it's Resident Evil
You can choose mayors??? how do you do that???
Thanatussss
tipp: if the game is too hard, lower the difficulty. Thanks a lot, awesome video...
yeah, so you can practice your strategy until it's good enough to deal with higher difficulties. it's valid advice, imo.

At 5:37, (Tip 7) pause is counterproductive if you're doing a no-pause challenge. 😆
Well yeah

This video: Build a soldier facility to build soldiers.

@@cenohd1963 it's a useless video
First tip obvious, useless and applies to the entirety of gaming in general. Couldn’t watch further
