Isn't the light speed a constant? I don't understand how can it travel at different speeds.

And that a bike is faster than my car!?
Thanks for the heart and the likes, MBS and community! By the way, I've had an idea for a two-parter: Resources extracted/waste produced in the whole of human history (or best estimate). Even more slow thing Limestone Stalactite is the bureaucracy.

Bureaucracy is fast, it just goes nowhere.
That depends on if the bureaucracy is being asked to accomplish something or if you're talking about it's _growth_. The growth definition would probably be equivalent to the rotation of the Earth.

For a second I thought there was going to be something faster than light. (like ships that use hyperspace).
A video of that style would be interesting
I remember seeing a video about fictional spaceships that are faster than light, might be able to find it if you look it up
I mean technically they wouldn't be speeding FTL then but rather taking a shortcut to avoid the FTL problem altogether.
@@ariannasv22 Yeah, it was made by competitor channel Reigarw Comparisons.
@@JJAB91 aye. in wh40k, ftl means taking a shortcut through the warp, in battletech its taking the shortcut through hyperspace, and in elite dangerous its going through the witchspace. same thing with different level of insanity.
Drift of far away universe could, due to expansion of space over time.
Would have been interesting to include the drift speed of electrons in a DC circuit. Contrary to common intuition, and depending on current level, that is just ~ 1 mm per minute. Notice this is not the same as the speed of the electric signal (which is very close to the speed of light), but the speed at which electrons do travel along a wire in a DC circuit.
Huh. TIL.
@@SupersuMC Yes quantum mechanics does defy logic, at least what we define as logical.
When you calculate power losses in wires and divide by the drift velocity, you can see it takes quite a bit of force to move those electrons.
@@lorenzamccoy7512 bro I know fuck tonnes about quantum mechanics, I’m banging a chick who worked for CERN and even I didn’t know this.
Recent understanding is that electrons don’t travel around a circuit at all; they just vibrate and wobble. There are many videos on YT demonstrating this.
Looking forward to a FICTIONAL SPEEDS version of this video one day: warp, hyperspace, improbability drive, TARDIS, etc...
The Infinite Improbability Drive and Star Trek's Warp 10 occupy every point in the universe simultaneously. I'd be interested to see how he represents that.

Your videos are among the best things to watch on the entire planet. I sat down with a couple of pancakes and started to watch this, and had to put the pancakes aside. I could not keep my eyes off the screen.
This was a little bit awkward to visualize, but I really like these new models you’re using, MBS.
The problem with scale is that the bigger or smaller they get the harder it is to visualize.
@@ctrl_x1770 I was more referring that it’s hard to visualize speed with a bigger bar in comparison to objects or the model city in the background.
Thank you for this. Great work.
Minor point for consideration, the SSC Tuatara has a verified top speed of "only" 475 km/h. The earlier 533 km/h attempt wasn't verified and is disputed.

Muy genial, pero lo más veloz del universo es lo que tarde el taxi de atrás tocando la bocina al ponerse el semáforo en verde... esa vaina se mide en mierdécimas de segundo.
This was trippy. I was expecting the things to get larger in the beginning but they got smaller. Also, so, the mood drifts at the same speed as our finger nails growing? That's a sweet comparison.
There is a god
awesome work. By the way, you say 'fast, faster and then fastEST,' for something which is unbeaten, speed-wise. So Usain Bolt is the fastEST man on Earth, and your comment should read, 'From the slowest to the fastEST...' Anyway, top-notch work, as usual. Thanks for uploading. I thought you could have added 'Expansion of Space' at the very end - Space itself is expanding faster than the speed of light.
¡Estimado Alvaro, gracias por estos videos tan fascinantes! Tus videos siempre son garantía, están increíblemente ejecutados. Saludos desde México.
Without fact checking the one thing I know you got wrong was the speed of the expansion of the universe. It's actually expanding faster than the speed of light.

That was fucking staggering. The best video from this channel that I've seen so far. Wonderful.

I thought the same thing when I saw that bird on the list.
Two things, I was surprised how fast bamboo grows, also, it's scary that the moon is drifting away from earth faster than my nails grow 😭
They grow very fast and we're used to kill people in interesting way once
Red blood cells are 7-8 micrometers in size. The fact that they can cover 83 cm in a minute means they travel over 100,000 body lengths in a minute.
If humans had that body length speed ratio, we'd cover over 100 miles a minute. That's over 8 times the speed of sound.
They don't move on their own but are swept along by the heart.
Your movies are scarry in a very good and positive way :) greetings from Poland :)
I noticed a mistake. Given the lengths, a grain of salt is 40 times smaller than a penny (0.5 mm). But on this comparison, it is only 4 times smaller (like it was 5 mm in diameter). So, this means everything after Theovulum Majus is 10 times too big, and should be 10 times smaller.
Well, the universe is moving away faster than light itself.
1:47 então uma stalactite cresce uma molécula por minuto?
There is one thing faster than light that you could have added at the end. The expansion of the universe!
I thought the expansion of the universe was faster than the speed of light, which is why we will never see the "edge" of the universe, just the observable as the light arrives.
Todos tenemos una regla de 60 nm, solo tenemos que poner la una en un sitio, esperar un minuto y volver a medir
Just wanna say that ya'll have one of the best channels on UA-cam. The Music in this one its amazing.
But nothing dead or alive is faster than the camera man... Literal god speed.
What astounds me the most is thinking of the ISS moving 10x the speed of a bullet.
In a minute I'm playing a game on the phone or computer while various things are happening. For example, several friendship circles are being created, several online purchases, several banking transactions, several planes taking off and landing in several airports around the world, several vehicles moving in one minute.
Enjoy every minute of your life with the people you love.

two things... 1 - the Moon is receding from Earth effectively the same distance overtime as the average human fingernail growth - and that's freaking cool. 2.
