I'm so glad Kevin had a graduation show, he deserved something after so many years. That's one thing I wish more Kpop groups would adopt - in Jpop, a member will usually announce that they're leaving or "graduating" a couple months+ before they actually leave. Then they have a graduation ceremony at a final goodbye concert, usually at the last show of a final tour, where fans can show their support and thanks for the years they've been in the group and usually all the other members will give a goodbye message. Helps both fans and members say goodbye and they go out with a bang. But in kpop usually you just get an out of the blue announcement that X has left the group and that's it, even if they'd dedicated years to the group, they don't get any sort of goodbye. I know Kevin probably mainly had a graduation as U-KISS are more successful in Japan, and this was a show in Japan, and this is what is done in Japan, but I really wish they would do something similar in Kpop when someone leaves. EDIT: Also reading through the comments it's evident that most people here have no idea about graduations. Hoo boy, try following a Japanese idol groups, you'll soon get used to it - graduations every year! lol

Graduations did happen back then, but I don't know how much they were known about, at least for international fans. These days they have a big to-do over them lol. They'll hype up to the graduation show, the graduating member may have special final solo live shows or bus tours just for fanclub members, final handshake and fan meetings, and obviously the companies can cash in by pumping out special graduation merchandise, like photobooks, commemorative tshirts, towels, notebooks, you name it lol. 80s idol group Onyanko Club started the idea of "graduations". That group had a school type theme so when two members decided to leave they called it a "graduation" and released a "school graduation" themed song, which was also released in March - which is when actual school graduations happen in Japan, so it fit in with the public mood at the time nicely and became an idol tradition ever since. Not everyone gets a ceremony, depending on circumstances - ANGERME member Aikawa Maho officially graduated on Dec 31 last year after a year-long hiatus for ill health, but didn't have a ceremony, just a written announcement from her and the company that they had decided it was best for her health not to return. Also members who have scandals may simply resign or even be fired from a group and will obviously have no ceremony in that case. It's likely more of a thing in Japan because Jpop idol groups have rotating line-ups, unlike Kpop. In Jpop you know the members won't be there forever and expect them to start graduating after around 5-6 years in the group (although some stay longer). U-KISS is actually one of the few Kpop groups I can think of that's had members leave and they've added new ones over time, most Kpop groups just deal with someone leaving or disband entirely. But it's very common in Jpop. The longest running Jpop idol group, Morning Musume, for example is now up to it's 14th generation of members (with a total of 41 members over the past 20 years), and the most senior members are from the 9th generation, who joined in 2011. The last first generation/original member of Morning Musume graduated way back in 2005.

I've been a fan for about 15 years lol, so I've seen many members come and go xD Their most recent single if you want to check out how they are now is Dokyuu no Go Sign/Jama Shinaide Here we Go!/Wakaindashi (it was a triple single). It's also, coincidentally, a graduation single - 10th generation member Kudo Haruka graduated in December. Wakaindashi was her graduation song. Yeah between 5 and 7 years is the usual. Some stay for less, others more. The member who was in Morning Musume the longest was Michishige Sayumi, who stayed for almost 12 years, from Jan 2003-Nov 2014. I mean, he has been going back and forth in Korea and Japan since in Korea he is a host and in Japan UKISS technically has a place there. It must be hard but yeah, I think he wants to do other things other than being an idol and I understand that idols tend to do this and I'm happy he and UKISS left on good terms.

Yeah, they're all very good with japanese. Since they're way more successful in japan than in korea, they have more concerts, tv interviews and activities in Japan so they've improved their japanese a lot (like Jun, he was not fluent at the beginning) Honestly, U-kiss members are very talented but they never had a massive success in Korea, it's such a shame they're sleeping on their talent. Also their agency has never been good at managing comebacks, not gonna lie

Yeah, they're all very good with japanese. Since they're way more successful in japan than in korea, they have more concerts, tv interviews and activities in Japan so they've improved their japanese a lot (like Jun, he was not fluent at the beginning)
Honestly, U-kiss members are very talented but they never had a massive success in Korea, it's such a shame they're sleeping on their talent. Also their agency has never been good at managing comebacks, not gonna lie
