Real history: lots of these pioneers killed off the native population to obtain lands with gold on it. There were bounties put on the scalps of the native so many pioneers made their living killing Indians in the Sierra mountains. We never hear about the genocide that with the native population. Some of the Sacramento pioneers that have their names on our schools and streets named after them were the ones that promoted the killing of Indians to enrich themselves. These pioneers and immigrants were no heros, they did whatever it took to self preserve.
