It is no longer a myth. Now, it's a Factosaur.
I can't believe they got a real Mythosaur to film for this episode
Somehow got him to fit in the budget
George Lucas: “I didn’t script any of it. A wild Rancor wandered onto the set and I just kept the cameras rolling as Mark Hamill killed it with a rock…”
I can't believe Steven Spielberg killed a real Triceratops.
And it was busy filming another movie, so it was nearly impossible to schedule!
Right ? I thought they were extinct !
this episode was amazing as soon as they got to the living waters I literally thought "wouldn't it be amazing if theres just an actualy Mythosaur here" and holy moly I'm so excited about what comes next
haha i had the exact same thing but mine was as soon as din got dragged down i was like i bet thats a mythosaur
If Din Djarin’s does ride the Mythasour how is he going to unite Mandalore on the different planets. Can the Mythasour travel in space just like the Purrgol?
I was right there with you I thought it would jump out the water though
@@multicreativeartist6579 does he have to? I mean Din has the Dark Saber which should be enough to unite the Mandalorians (if he could wield it correctly) but if word gets around that he is riding THE creature that every mandalorian knows that (should) be the nail in the coffin. I'm very excited to see what they will do. I still want a little mando family with Din, Bo and Grogu.
Deez nuts
My favorite part was Grogu taking the initiative and saving Din!
He didn’t take initiative and saved Din. He tried. He failed. Plus, it’s hardly special. I’d try to protect my dad if I had the Force, too.
@@RealJustINRVA Din wouldn’t have survived if Grogu hadn’t of flown back on his own to retrieve Bo Katan
@@RealJustINRVA He escaped alive thanks to his abilities and returned with help. I would call that saving Din.
Didn't Din say, go get Bo?
@@calebbrown9091 he did
This episode was very much Star Wars for me. The action, the fights, the space travel, even the creatures felt stopmotion-ish. I’m sure they’re not, but they felt like that and I enjoyed it very much cuz they reminded me of the creatures in the original trilogy.
Yup. For me, Andor isn't really StarWars. This is.
@@RK-ck6pl ummm... I enjoyed Andor, it felt like a more gritty and dark version of Star Wars. The mandalorian is a more "clone wars" style Star Wars. I like both.
@@braedynhoward3644 I kind of like it. But it isn't really Star Wars. It's a drama. Star Wars is an adventure with space magic droids and aliens.
I have a feeling they are going to go after the helmet of Mandalore. How cool would a vision to Grogu from the mythosaur be.
This is the way
That is very deep lore if they go down that method. However I feel the darksaber now takes the place of the Mnadálor Mask.
@@rossanderson5815 But imagine the cultural significance to surviving Mangalorian's if the Mandalore had the saber AND the helmet. It would give them hope and help rally them together to begin rebuilding their civilization.
that would be amazing
I don't think grogu could rule Mandalore, nor would it really make any sense despite vouching for grogu
As soon as the Mythosaur appeared I was like "That looks like a Mythosaur" somehow didn't make the connection until a second later where it was facing directly at the camera
When Bo-Katan read the plaque right before Mando went into the water I literally thought to myself “We’re going to see the Mythosaur aren’t we?”
definitely
Sure u did.
Really? I thought they was going to bath together and fall in love and then I was like oh of course not that’s silly 👀
Took you that long?
Crazy prediction: Din will learn to use the saber with the help of a jedi. Could it be Ezra? Or the one that saved Grogu?
I really want it to be windu but it won’t be windu
@@water4826 windu is dead
@@senderoverland who knows he could be alive
Ezra has no business in being in this series. If he was going to return, it would be in the Ahsoka series where it make sense. Also I don't think it's the jedi way of training someone, in the jedi arts of lightsaber forms, for the sole purpose of gaining power. Like what must have happen for it to make sense that Ezra would train a cold-blooded bounty hunter like Din to use a saber that literally represents raw power over people? Din will hence most likely learn to use the saber by Bo-Katan or the armorer.
Quinlan Vos? We know he’s still alive and we haven’t seen him in live action yet 🤔
Grogus pod is stored under the N1, you can see it come out in the premier
2 Things to note:
1. Bo Katan seemed much more masterful of the darksaber with almost no struggle wielding it. Hopefully Din Learns to Use it or at the very least finds his place to allow it to be used in proper hands
2. Din got his ass beat this episode 😂 First the Robo Alien, then immediately falling hundreds of feet into the living waters
I noticed that too - Din has a rough episode 😂
Did Bo Katan give the dark saber back to Din?
Din lost the sabre to the grievous type creature, Bo beat the creature. So shouldn’t the saner be hers now.
Saber
@@josephbrown9900 that’s what I thought too! I was so relieved that it would be over now, but they didn’t address it!
I think Din has to accept his destiny of the one to unite mandalorians and the n he’ll connect with the sabre instantly
I agree with you ❤ he will be the next king
All that is gold does not glitter,
Not all those who wander are lost;
The old that is strong does not wither,
Deep roots are not reached by the frost.
From the ashes a fire shall be woken,
A light from the shadows shall spring;
Renewed shall be blade that was broken,
The crownless again shall be king.
@@rossanderson5815
Is this LOTR ?
@@MuhammadAli90 Yes, but it fits perfectly.
This episode was brilliant. Very curious to see how Bo Katan's arc unfolds...
Loved this episode. Love the visuals and Bo. Can't wait for the rest and hope to get Moff next episode and Christopher Lloyd As Hondo.
Always imagined Antonio banderras as hondo myself.
@@danieloleary5214 Solid pick but Lloyd I think will nail the weirdness and personality better.
Christopher Lloyd as Hondo would be amazing!
@@gratebritton Hope to also get Migs back.
Jim Cummings, who voiced Hondo in animation, actually did the singing for Christopher Lloyd as Rasputin in the movie Anastasia.
This series is perfection. Pure perfection.
I love that Mando narrates everything to Grogu. He's teaching him the Mandalorian ways and teaching him general knowledge about space and galaxies.
Anyone think Din could be force sensitive?
I think that would be a waste, honestly. The Force is overrated. :p
I think if he was force sensitive, it would be on the level of someone like Han Solo, who can’t use the force, but still has a stronger connection to it than the average being.
No
He's may have an above average connection to it which will probably be why he will become proficient with the dark saber and, big leap here, will have some sort of connection with the mythosaur
Hopefully he's not. The force theme is overplayed by now.
Too many Goosebumps in the episode. I felt so thrilled during my first watch.
Also it would be great if you could make a separate video about that creature in water.
I think it’s cool Gorgu gets taught by all the greats Mando, Bokatan, Luke, and maybe Fett this kid is going to be bad ass
My take, I think the Mythosaur was actually watching over Din. I DO NOT think it was the Mythosaur that actually pulled Din under. But something else. And actually, the Mythosaur had vanquished whatever it was that took Din, and was guarding over him waiting for Bo to rescue him. Notice, that once Bo and Din were headed back to the surface, the Mythosaur turned away, as if acknowledging it's job of guarding was done.
I dont understand why people struggle with this. Gravity and his metal armor pulled him under.
@@collegeboykeith Not out of the realm of possibility. There was no turbulence in the water before Din went down, so it's entirely possible the steps simply ended and he stepped off into the depths. But, Star Wars has always had a proclivity for having monsters in the deep.. so.. I doubt they'll settle for the simple explanation.
@@collegeboykeith he sunk that fast that deep? unlikely imo.
@@glrider100 if so, that’s a little sad and funny haha 😂 Din just steps off the edge an- whoops!
@@braedynhoward3644 bo katan litteraly says it in the next episode, the steps broke of
Seeing Mandalore post purge was amazing, then Bo-Katan weilding the dark saber with ease, then the mythosaur!! Holy crap!
Mr. Voss we need you now more than ever to solve these Mandalorian mysteries. I have faith that you will succeed. This is the way.
Your analysis of these episodes are always amazing! It’s a constant reminder of how vast and richly detailed the Star Wars universe is. Thanks for the videos!
One of the things that occurred to me, and I'm curious to see if they continue to play with it is this: Din Djarin literally took a leap of faith in the mines and nearly died as a result. Bo-Katan had to save him. The Watch's strict adherence to their religion is symbolically killing them, and Bo-Katan's more practical approach is what may save them.
Could be. Could also be that there’s something to their dogma, hinted at by the mythosuar.
“And they call it a mine!!! A MINE!!!”
"This is not a mine, it's a tomb"
I feel like what they've spent 2 seasons setting up is Grogu helping Din tame the Mythosaur. Looking all the way back to how he helped him with the Mudhorn and the list goes on
My thoughts exactly. The rancor was an opening act. Grogu gonna go touch his tusk and then curl up under his claws and tap.
Grogu is Mandalore
Yah when the Mythasuar appeared i literally screamed out HOLY SHIT!!!!
i mean, in rebels Canan stated that the force can manifest in lots of ways throughout the galaxy (talking about the religion of Zeb’s people).
I think it’s possible that the mandalorian creed has actual “magic” in it
It's a creed, not a power.
I think the armorer could be force sensitive.
This episode had just blown the doors off of the Mandalorian myths. I can’t wait to see who ends up riding that Mythosaur.
Best visuals of any episode I've seen thus far.
The monster that kidnapped Din could maybe be a Geonosion? The species that originally came up with the blueprints to the Death Star. Love y’all ❤
This season is off to an amazing start and I can't wait to see what happens next!
Best mandalorian episode since the beginning of season 2!
I can’t believe how good this episode was! It was a masterpiece! The Armorer definitely knew of the mythosaur and wanted to see if Din could unite the Mandalorians
I really want more lore on that insectoid like was it a mandalorian who kept himself alive? Its a human like eye chunk in that jar too. So interesting
I was thinking the same thing! There has to be some more info out there on it. Really interesting creature and it must have been more biological at some point, humanoid or not cyborgs are not just born
I'm wondering if it's a Kaleesh like General Grievous, had a lot of similarities, definitely a cool addition
What was it going to use Din's blood for. Nourishment?
I was thinking general greavous race aswell
@spartan- -64 i think so. It looked like its tubes needed some refreshment so he probably siphons blood to live
Watching this to find out if Din sunk because his armor was too heavy (not realizing the living waters was a lake and not a pool)
or if the Mythosaur actually pulled him down
armorer: so have you redeemed yourself in the living waters?
din: there was a f*ckin mythosaur there, i could've gotten myself killed.
armorer: this is the way.
Bo katan was baptized in the living waters too...wonder if that's significant?
It’s funny to know that mando literally fell to the bottom of the mines. He was week and didn’t have his jet pack so when he went into the water he didn’t realize how heavy his suit actually is and just plummeted to the bottom
week?
@@goodputin4324 I think they mean “weak”
This episode was amazing I loved it, and I can’t wait to see the next episode when it airs!
I love how Grogu utilizes his Jedi agility to do those flips. So adorable
My boy Din had Bo-Katan hella moist😩
Mando just couldn’t catch a break this episode
It’s a great episode but I kinda want Din to get a handle on the dark saber soon.
mythosaur is now Cannon. we love to see it.
I was shitting bricks with how cool that Grievous style alien was but a fricken Mythosaur? This is only episode 2 and its epic
The graveyard analogy works if Din is the one who knows all these stories but Bo-Katan is the one who actually knew the people buried there.
13:51 that kinda reminds me from transformers when frenzy, also lost a body while using his head four legs.
Grogu will be the one to tame the mythosaur. Creating a situation where Grogu will be the heir apparent to the title of Mandalore and Din will be his Regent
More like Din & Bo tame it with the help of Grogu.
The whole Luke deal was only too progress Grogu to flip status, & I'm good with it 🎉. ... GREAT two episode start 💯
Seeing the mythosaur reminded me of the Zillow beast!
This was my favorite episode so far!
Glad to be the first person to comment. This is the Way.
nope
Who cares lmao geez
This is the way
This is the way
@@godreap3820 I was just having fun. No need to be so serious.
I swear on my name and the names of the ancestors, that I shall walk the way of the mand’alor, and the words of the creed shall be forever forged in my heart. This is the way
I love that the Grevious looking creature reminds me of the robot AMEE from Red Planet 😂
This episode was CRAZY! Watching The Mythosaurus was the best part!! Bo Katan was OP!!! Can't wait for the next episode!!!!
I think it’s worth noting that in a similar episode of the clone wars when a Republic Venator crashes with Anakin, Ashoka, and a few others on board, anakin says the same, “be… behind you” to ashoka when he’s injured much like Din does to Grogu
Also the planet they crashed on was the Lehrmans’ planet
The pod probably has a spot underneath where the droid pit is for storage
When I watched the scene where that cyborg's head crawled away, I literally said, "You gotta be f***ing kidding." A quote from The Thing.
I have a feeling Bo Katan is going to turn into one of Star Wars’ most interesting characters. Which says a lot, cause Star Wars has some cool folks!
I think that robot creature could have been the remains of general grevious. As it gets out of its mech at 19:00 in the episode it sounds like it said “general kenobi” also the way it coughs
Not just that to be honest, the shoulder pads are one of the parts untouched and its EXACTLY the same as the grievous pads I think it’s well confirmes it’s him just off that the body if you look into deep enough it’s the exact same in the areas seen past the enhancements
@Camlot.Patets if not the same race that grevious was, thats what I thought when I first saw him.
Pretty sure it's the remains of Admiral Trench from the Clone Wars. The spider shape of the large machine and the way it talks make me think it's him.
Callin it now: Grogu force links with the Mythosaur and they become besties
I was surprised Grogu didn't summon the Dark Saber when attempting to free Den from the cage.
This truly is the year of Pedro Pascal, *this is the way!*
Superb analysis. Well-met!
was it that giant monster that's supposed to have pulled Din all the way down to the bottom? because I don't get how that's supposed to have happened to him so quickly. like otherwise I can see him being initially spooked that he ran out of solid ground to walk on underneath the water, but he should've been able to simply adjust to that
I thought this myself. The only logical explanation I can think of for how quickly he sank and the fact he was passed out when bo katan got to him, is the mythosaur dragged him down and he's hit his head at the bottom of the pool. I can't think of any other explanation
He's wearing a full set of armor and trustingly stepped into a cavern opened up by the bombing. In reality he probably wouldn't have sank That fast, but he would have sank fast enough to lose consciousness without a pressurised helmet.
It had to be the creature that dragged him down. Perhaps the creature didn’t “want” Din after all. Maybe it knows he’s a Mandalorian or isn’t a threat, hence why the creature didn’t fight Bo Katan.
He likely also lost a fair amount of blood to the captor's pump
Lol he walk into deep water without his jetpack and a full set of armor of course he sank to the bottom
Those are some great questions. Mr. Voss, you never cease to amaze.
So did Mando get dragged down to the bottom? Cause like you can't really free fall underwater lol...and how far is Mandalor from Bo Katan world? That was like a 2 minute drive lmao it seemed like Mando was trapped for 15 minutes when at least a day should have passed
they are in the same star system, so I suppose like going from earth to mars.
I think Din’s heavy armor made him sink much faster than usual. Which is why Bo Kayan boosted down to save him as quick as possible
I can see that Bo-Katan is looking at Din in a certain way 👀
I see it as a sign of respect. But who knows what Favreau and Filoni store for us.
@@deedee2455 Nah. from the get go Bo-katan always had a some what of a interest in Mando. Theirs a strong possibility that Mando and Bo-katan will rule Mandalore
I ship them
Grogu's pod may be an escape pod type of deal for the ship like if Mando knows grogu needs to leave the ship in space he can shoot him off somewhere safe and load it back in as well
The living waters thing was intense. Was just wondering what would go wrong and getting nervous then let my damn guard down because of the feels!!
I feel that by the end of it whoever becomes the true leader bo katan din or boba one of them will ride the mythosaur
Boba isn't a true mandalorian he's a clone wouldn't be excepted
As with most I'm the galaxy, the force connects all, the Mythosaur being present in this moment reminds me how the Lothwolves were a re constant presence with Esra and Kanan
Pedro saying it's good but it can be better, that a good twist 😅🤣🤣🤣
Anyone notice Bo Katan smiling while he was stepping in the waters and saying the lines? I wonder what that was about if anyone can explain please?
As I recall, by reading the Republic Commando novels, by Karen Traviss (I know, it's Legends, whatever...) Mandalorian cities were encased in domes because the atmosphere was no longer habitable, due to the over mining for beskar.
I’m pretty sure that Bo Katan is younger than Grogu.
Grogu is probably older than both Bo and Din, but the way his species ages means he’s still a kid
Loving this season!
This episode was so fire
is it possibly the same creature the mandolore tamed like the plaque says?
This Is The Way!
I think the Mythosaur is sentient and not just a beast
Also when Mando told Grogu to hop in the pod before he opened the door, I was like: “but how?” Then started thinking about where it’s even stored & how much actual room is in the cockpit?
The air tight pod is for water it’s a call back to when he almost got eaten
I mean droid is so not motivated to do anythink - so blowned up motivator makes so much sense
Concordia is latin for ‘harmony’
really good questions at the end
IG-88 was taken out by Boba in Empire, you can see the ugnaughts on Cloud City tearing him up for scrap when Chewie goes to rescue C3PO
Another extra i thought was cool is that Din has been teaching Grogu navigation, and Grogu actually uses that knowledge to tell R5 where Bo Katan is
The Osaur lives!
Awesome episode, could you see Bo-Katan and Mando hooking up? They could make for a great power couple. BTW Grogu is going to be Super OP by the time he grows up.
I genuinely thought the cyborg scavenger who trapped Mando was grevious lmao
Great episode
I'm pretty sure that creature the kidnapped Mando was general grievous
I thought it was the mythosaur even with my loose knowledge on it in star wars it makes me smile that I was right lol and holy crap why did the mythosaur not emerge after seeing them exit
2:59 According to my research, IG-88 is still active after The Force Awakens.
3:36 That’s a good use of the meme.
9:54 I think this might qualify as ASMR.
I love how much better Bokatan is with the dark Sabre
Ever since I watched the episode I couldn’t wait to see this video
Really enjoying the insightful commentary
Before they settled on Mandalor and became more of a people Mandolorians were actually nomadic people who lived by their creed which made them more of a religion/way of life than. It was only later on they settled and started to colonise.
Those Alamites in this episode are like the Morlocks in The Time Machine.
IG-88 was killed by Boba Fett in Empire Strikes Back as IG-88 followed Boba to Bespin and planned to get the bounty for himself where then Boba Fett kills him and you can see his body in the back of the room where the Ugnaughts dismantled C3-PO
And the helmet fried like the weapon sabine ran created... Love you're videos :)
