    One thing I learned fairly recently is that I don't need to keep running my fingers through my wig all day. I was making it look bad. I kept thinking I had to "fix" it. Maybe, it was self-consciousness. Anyway, I realized that how I style it in the morning is pretty much how it will stay; you may only need an occasional brush or pick. That is the beauty of synthetic wigs. Now it looks so much better.

    Thanks for the excellent tips! I usually wear my wigs anywhere from 12 to 18 hours a day because of my several after work activities. I tend to wear my shorter wigs more often because they don’t need quite so many touch ups. I love the tip about the metal tooth brush. I got one free with a purchase and was never quite sure about the proper way to use it. Thanks ever so much for sharing your wig knowledge! You’re the best!

    (Wow, just saw all the product recommendations. Interesting!) I use what I think is called the Spornette Super Looper, looped wig brush. I love that thing and it fits in my purse -- very gentle. I liked the advice on refreshing curly wigs. I have three of those Renau combs and carry one in my purse. It actually works well on my bio hair, too. Good advice and great reminders, Taz.

    I'm learning so much from your videos as I begin my wig wearing journey. Thank you for helping me get off to what I hope will be a good start. I have a question though. In the above video discussing permatease, you refer to your Dolce wig as old while also explaining that you don't wear it every day. About how much life can I expect to get from a wig of good quality if I wear it several hours a day, every day? I intend to buy more than one, and to get various styles, but in taking your advice from another video, I plan to start off with one that is closest to my own color and style and will add new ones as I can afford to.

    Excellent information. To reduce tangling in the first place, I spray the nape area\ underside with silicone lubricant, 3m brand. The same stuff you'd use for squeaky hinges. Use in good ventilation, brush through and allow to dry. The smell disappears, I promise! Lol this stuff prevents a lot of the tangling and snarling that can happen in longer wigs. Fibers are plastic, so the silicone won't hurt them at all. I use it on cheap wigs and expensive wigs alike, to prolong the life of my wigs. Taz has the best videos. 😊

    • @TAZSWIGCLOSET
      @TAZSWIGCLOSET  6 років тому +1

      Wow Michelle, I love the tip!! I may have to try it myself... you're right.. the smell IS offputting (Ive used it for other household things!), but if it disappears and prolongs the wig, its worth it! XOXOXO

    • @barbk1313
      @barbk1313 6 років тому +1

      Michelle Ray a lot of people also use food grade silicone spray. I haven’t tried it yet but it’s supposed to work well for tangles.

    • @romantichorror5289
      @romantichorror5289 5 років тому +1

      @@mgcap-p6v Hi Maria, no, not wd40. Silicone lubricant, 3m brand. Apparently, there are lubricating sprays made with silicone for wigs, like a product called Velvasil. I've used it, but I personally like the stronger silicone lubricant. Maybe because I wear cheaper, longer wigs, the kind that get really tangled at the nape. Wd40 is more of an oil, something you don't want to put on your wig. Yuck!

    Are you aware that some Facebook adds for very inexpensive wigs (under $30) are using parts of your videos to advertise their wigs. From reading some of the comments its a scam and could put a negative spin on your site/UA-cam channel. I just want you to be aware if you weren't.

    • @TAZSWIGCLOSET
      @TAZSWIGCLOSET  6 років тому

      Yvette Bybee Hello, I’m very aware. I file all the legal complaints but they keep popping up. Facebook isn’t doing enough to stop this. I do all I can do and they keep popping up like weeds. All I can do now is let people know it’s a scam and hopefully rely on those that know to help keep others from getting caught up in it.. I put out a video about it not long ago so my viewers would be aware. If it sounds too good to be true, in this case at least, it’s too good to be true. I hope people do their due diligence before trusting any retail site. Thank you! XOXO
