One thing I learned fairly recently is that I don't need to keep running my fingers through my wig all day. I was making it look bad. I kept thinking I had to "fix" it. Maybe, it was self-consciousness. Anyway, I realized that how I style it in the morning is pretty much how it will stay; you may only need an occasional brush or pick. That is the beauty of synthetic wigs. Now it looks so much better.
Thank you❣ That was exactly what I was searching for. And I found your manner of explaining while demonstrating extremely clear, concise, and easily repeatable. Thank you!
Thanks for the excellent tips! I usually wear my wigs anywhere from 12 to 18 hours a day because of my several after work activities. I tend to wear my shorter wigs more often because they don’t need quite so many touch ups. I love the tip about the metal tooth brush. I got one free with a purchase and was never quite sure about the proper way to use it. Thanks ever so much for sharing your wig knowledge! You’re the best!
Thanks so much for the feedback! I used to wear my wigs similar to you.. 12+ hours a day! I don't have to wear them so long nowadays, but I love the feeling of them on my head... I feel naked and exposed without one on! Good luck! XOXOXO
You said it, Taz ! I learned the hard way when I first began to wear wigs. It was like I had flushed my money down the toilet. My wigs didn't last long and started to look bad very quickly. Great advice ! Thank you so much ! P.S. I love the wig you are wearing in this vid ! You look beautiful as always !
Thanks so much Cynthia! I'm so glad you chimed in... wigs are expensive! I want to see everyone preserve their investment in any way they can:-) XOXOXO
(Wow, just saw all the product recommendations. Interesting!) I use what I think is called the Spornette Super Looper, looped wig brush. I love that thing and it fits in my purse -- very gentle. I liked the advice on refreshing curly wigs. I have three of those Renau combs and carry one in my purse. It actually works well on my bio hair, too. Good advice and great reminders, Taz.
@@TAZSWIGCLOSET I got mine on Amazon. You could be a re-seller of that too, it really is wonderful. I have one like yours. I believe in getting every possible professional tool. The looped brush is great for curls. xoxo

Another great video Taz, just as a side comment you look good , actually beautiful in every single wig you wear short medium or long just a beautiful lady . I have watched a few other videos but they all seem to make the wings look worse, your videos show us how to flip them up with our two back fingers and fluff them up . I absolutely love watching your videos I just can’t learn enough. Thank you, Sharron
I'm learning so much from your videos as I begin my wig wearing journey. Thank you for helping me get off to what I hope will be a good start. I have a question though. In the above video discussing permatease, you refer to your Dolce wig as old while also explaining that you don't wear it every day. About how much life can I expect to get from a wig of good quality if I wear it several hours a day, every day? I intend to buy more than one, and to get various styles, but in taking your advice from another video, I plan to start off with one that is closest to my own color and style and will add new ones as I can afford to.
Excellent information. To reduce tangling in the first place, I spray the nape area\ underside with silicone lubricant, 3m brand. The same stuff you'd use for squeaky hinges. Use in good ventilation, brush through and allow to dry. The smell disappears, I promise! Lol this stuff prevents a lot of the tangling and snarling that can happen in longer wigs. Fibers are plastic, so the silicone won't hurt them at all. I use it on cheap wigs and expensive wigs alike, to prolong the life of my wigs. Taz has the best videos. 😊
Wow Michelle, I love the tip!! I may have to try it myself... you're right.. the smell IS offputting (Ive used it for other household things!), but if it disappears and prolongs the wig, its worth it! XOXOXO
@@mgcap-p6v Hi Maria, no, not wd40. Silicone lubricant, 3m brand. Apparently, there are lubricating sprays made with silicone for wigs, like a product called Velvasil. I've used it, but I personally like the stronger silicone lubricant. Maybe because I wear cheaper, longer wigs, the kind that get really tangled at the nape. Wd40 is more of an oil, something you don't want to put on your wig. Yuck!
Hi, I have a que atinó, mine is a synthetic hair wig and many times is hard to brush it cause is long and make knots. How can I give her a long live? Soñé times hair fall with out touch 😓😢

Hi Carlie. Gently combing a synthetic wig may straighten it some, however, it may not stay in that style without further combing. Synthetic styles are "set" when they are made.. its meant to stay in that style for as long as you own the wig.. even through washing, etc. XOXO

I just use a regular brush on my wig and it’s fine, I actually think my brush is for wigs and hair, obviously I have to brush it lightly but it still works so whatever.
Hi taz.. thank you for such informative vedios.. could you make one on wig care? How to wash and what is silica spray. I’m new to wigs and trying to learn about them. Thank you in advance.
I brushed a portion of my synthetic wig with a regular brush - now that part is all stretched out! (curled + not soft, when the wig is supposed to be straight) Is there anything I can do to fix it? I haven't touched after I realized my mistake.
I have a plastic comb I use occasionally.. but I think its important not to use a fine tooth comb. I always use a plastic pick like comb or wide tooth comb. This prevents ripping and snagging of the fibers. XOXO

Are you aware that some Facebook adds for very inexpensive wigs (under $30) are using parts of your videos to advertise their wigs. From reading some of the comments its a scam and could put a negative spin on your site/UA-cam channel. I just want you to be aware if you weren't.
Yvette Bybee Hello, I’m very aware. I file all the legal complaints but they keep popping up. Facebook isn’t doing enough to stop this. I do all I can do and they keep popping up like weeds. The care instructions for mine say not to use plastic. Should I use a wooden wide tooth comb then?
