It's not about distance from office it's about distance from their fiber point to your home. If they have fiber point on BSNL office which I guess they have the. It's will cost you 3-5k but it's depends on your vendor.
Actually they also install landline phone so they can also install broadband

Bhai mere yahan January se BSNL fibre connection lagaa hua thaa May 3 se band hai kyuki bagal gaav me gas pipeline pad rahi to wo log JCB se khod diye to main line toot gayi kaafi jagah se to BSNL waale bol rahe ki new line padegi aur vendor bol Raha ki wo Airtel walo se baat kar raha ki Airtel ki lease line mil jaaye taaki Internet chalu ho sake. Mere town me total 5 connections the usme mera pehla tha.

It's depends on fiber core it's starting from 2 core to many core. And 2 core cable cost around 7-8rs per meter.
