I can’t tell you how much I’m enjoying your videos. I just bought an identical pro master and am starting to wrap my head around the build. My skills fall short of yours, but I will be doing a lot of it myself, getting professional help when drilling holes in the van is necessary. I appreciate your documenting and sharing. Thank you!!!
Glad to hear you are enjoying them! Congrats on the diy journey. I'm sure you are selling yourself short! I'm no expert and am putting the videos out to show people they can do it too.😊 Good luck with the research and your build as you get into it! I'm sure it will turn out great! 🙌🏻
Awesome job with the cabinets! Love the look of yours - we built ours into the wall which was practical, but I love the finish that you got by building them first then putting them up - they look really nice.
Thank you! I thought the same about your video- definitely easier to make it square your way. I think our back cabinet is slightly tipped downward at the front edge 😂
Matt I am making a cabinet approximately 75 inches long would you recommend two or three opening ? Thank you and as usual great video . You have no Idea how much your videos are helping me in my build . I have been dreading this stage of the build 😅
I’m very glad they’ve been helpful! Definitely was a goal of mine in sharing because so many people don’t feel like they can do it. Glad you are! For the cabinet I think it’s very dependent on your needs. Our upper cabinet we did 2 spaces because we call them his and her closets. Since yours is a little longer, a third upright might be helpful for supporting the length of it. If it makes sense you could always do 4 smaller openings too. One thing to take into account is larger doors can be more difficult to make depending on the style you want. Or be very heavy and cumbersome. Hope that helps, definitely reach out if you have other questions I might be able to help with
My buddy actually lent me one and I didn't know how I'd keep it straight to know the way to attach it to my board. I'll need to research that a little more
Matt & Katie the bar across the middle; you hold both sides and slide the 10” Saker towards the area you wanted to scribe...it’ll follow the contour, you take the unit and pencil the contour of the Saker onto whatever material you’re using...!! If the contour is wider that 10”, just do half, 1st; then the other part...it’s easy!!!
I used wood cabinet screws from Home Depot. They gave a really solid connection. I got them long enough to go through to the framing attached to the van. I also made sure to attache them in multiple sports on top and back Here's a 2-1/2" but I think I found 3 or something bigger at Home Depot www.homedepot.com/p/GRK-Fasteners-8-x-2-1-2-in-White-Star-Drive-Low-Profile-Washer-Head-Wood-Cabinet-Screw-80-Pack-120660/205908886?source=shoppingads&locale=en-US&mtc=Shopping-B-F_D25H-G-D25H-25_3_FASTENERS-NA-NA-Feed-LIA-NA-NA-Fasteners_LIA&cm_mmc=Shopping-B-F_D25H-G-D25H-25_3_FASTENERS-NA-NA-Feed-LIA-NA-NA-Fasteners_LIA-71700000065880652-58700005819508955-92700053176328174&gclid=Cj0KCQiAtqL-BRC0ARIsAF4K3WE1wYBtrUphNy3uo_BghcK09viwHk1iqDOHU2Gr9XXG66mv2950AOYaAmYIEALw_wcB&gclsrc=aw.ds
Nice cabinets. Wondering if there is any concern about thermal bridging attaching the wood directly to the bare metal? (i.e., not using ez-cool/reflectlix/insulation of some sort on the metal and before the cabinet mounts)
Thank you! I've heard wood can help be that thermal break. I originally was thinking about using ez-cool but decided against it. I still plan to cover the column in the future and there is some room I could still cover most of it if I want. Maybe I'll do some more research before then
Yup, you lost me a few times. However, I'm still trying to wake up.. and I feel a lot better knowing I'm the not the only one winging it on van builds. "With this awkwardly placed pencil line.. I should cut here and then screw it in there.. wam!"
Cabinets look good!
Thanks brother!
Appreciate the videos brotha!
Glad to hear! 🙌🏻 Hope they are helpful to you! 😊
Great 👍🏼 Job!
Thank you! 😊
Looking good, cabinets are so much effort and make or break the build.
👍
Hoping these will make it 😊

Looks great! I love the little pocket hole tips.
Thank you! Hope they are helpful! 🙌🏻
Good job Matt & Katie! I hope mine come out as good as yours did!
Thank you! I'm sure they will🙌🏻 Definitely glad to have them installed!
Wow the van has really progressed since the last time I saw it ,looks like a lot of effort had gone in it , excellent job!
Thank you!😊 Slowly making progress!

@@Trailvagabonds Those are details that only you as the builders will notice - they look great to me!
So true!
If you don't cut the piece of wood at least 3x is it even perfect? Looks clean and nice trim on the end.
😂 😂 😂 Right?! Thank you. I'm definitely glad with how it turned out! It's looking like an actual camper van now😊

@@Trailvagabonds thank you Matt , ended up going 58 inches will go with two doors 🤟
Matt, you should’ve bought a 10” Lock Saker Contour Gauge/Profile Tool-Adjustable Lock...
My buddy actually lent me one and I didn't know how I'd keep it straight to know the way to attach it to my board. I'll need to research that a little more

Thanks for the reply, I will definitely need to try it out! Probably save me lots of time and headache!
Hey! Which screws did you use for connect cabinets to the wall?

I like what you doing, I'm looking for someone to convert my express ;)
I've been thinking about getting in to converting vans. Send us an email with your ideas and we can chat if it might be feasible.

Haha, it all worked out in the end! Isn't that what engineering courses teach us?! 😂
