The 2stroke is....AMAZING. Wow I just love how it sounds so aggressive! The 4stroke does also sound good but I prefer the 2smoke. Edit: The 4strokes sounds more like a motorcycle than a Dirt Bike if that makes sense? I really like how "thumpy" they sound but for me it gets old really fast, while the 2 strokes "braaps" never gets old.
I prefer the thump-a-thump and throaty growl of the 4 to the ring-a-ding and giant wasp sound of the 2. As far as the actual engines themselves, there are advantages and disadvantages to both and areas where one is preferable to the other, so I have no favorite overall; I love them both.
I keep telling people that the difference in sound is kinda like the brrrrt from an A-10 Warthog vs farting into a trumpet. They don't get it at first but when they hear the 2-stroke, they finally understand. And your video illustrates it very well, thank you.
Unpopular opinion: 4stroke sounds fuckin good when revving only 1 flick at a time because of the loudness and deepness but 2 stroke sounds hella better when driving, accelerating and burning rubber I still love 2 stroke sounds when revving a bit but nowadays maybe prefer 4 stroke even though I own a 2 stroke

I can have a 2 stroke or 4 stroke dirt bike here in Finland that is street legal, when some requirements are fulfilled. Sometimes people just mod their street legal supermoto to dirtbike by changing the wheels to enduro wheels. Also quite a few for example mopeds or some 125cc bikes come with enduro wheels stock, even if they are street legal. That's why I don't talk about dirt bikes. When I was looking for this type of video where people do comparison between these two, this was the first one that I found. Edit: You can easily burn rubber with a dirt bike, some of us Finnish people do it too when we don't have supermoto wheels.

I like the sound of a 4 stroke way better it has more of the “grom” sound so to me the deeper the sound the more aggressive but I wish they made a muffler for a 2 stroke with the deep growl of the 4 stroke bc I prefer a 2 stroke
I personally prefer the 4-stroke, because whenever I hear a 2-stroke pop in idle or similar, they sound light and cheap, almost like a tin can. that rattling doesn’t inspire confidence for me.

I like both I personally have a 4 stroke klr 250 just put on new piston rings today and I would like a 250 two stroke but I hate the loud pitch of it I wouldn't be able to stand it in person at idle it's ok but it buzzes way to much for my ears
I like 4 stroke sound for a long ride it is not as loud but I love the 2 stroke sound especially when you are not going that fast and the 2 stroke makes that popping sound like making popcorn I freaking love that.

Definitely 4 stroke. The sound of a 2 stroke annoys me, probably because the sound of a 4 stroke has about the same volume the whole time ( at least when it idles, ) but when an explosion happens in a 2 stroke, the bops kinda"hit" your ear. And a 4 stroke has a "deep" sound

its not the carb...they rev waaay faster , 4bangers turn a bigger gearing getting speed from the torque...high rpm has a certain scream to it , 4bangers dont rev very high..

Yep as a 90's rider of an RM 80, 125, then 250, 4-strokes are just offensive to my ears. I cannot watch motocross racing anymore. The sound is just so bizarre and off-putting to me. If I were to buy a bike today it would 100% be a YZ.
You cant really get any more modern than a 21/22 tpi bike like ktm etc, 4 stroke has been around almost as long as 2 strokes maybe not always in dirt bikes but it’s been around
It takes 2 exausts on a 4 stroke to sound a little louder but still not even close to a 2 stroke. 4 stroke sound like a big man with deep voice that talks slow(Notorious BIG's voice) while 2 stroke sound like a young skinny guys with a high pitch talking fast like an automatic gun(Eminem's voice). On my younger days, 2 stroke was the dream bike to get noticed and annoy everyone; but now that I'm old, 4 stroke sounds good for me just like my deeper voice and slower speech. I leave the 2 stroke for my kids.
