Paladin has become one of my favorite jobs. Its one of those jobs that really rewards aggressive play. Tanking in frontline is always a thankless job, and I find Paladin to be the most comfy if your team doesn't follow up. Even with the low damage output, I go in swinging with cofident and reckless abandon, often switching targets with each attack. Doing that, plus confiteor will net you a lot of assists if your team follows your push. I never focus kills on paladin in big fights. Just try to stay at the front as long as possible, putting out as much dps as possible. A great paladin is one that can take all the pressure exerted by the enemy team and redirect it right back at them.
I love paladin since the update to holy sheltron so now you can become a weapon pop sheltron and with one second left dash into a pile, sheltron detonate plus confiteor for beautiful damage :D

decided to check out some pld pvp as im doing it in roulette and wanted some tips since i dont feel very impactful... but was delighted to hear you talk about christmas and how you had only 400 subs... this is my first video of yours, and its always delightful to see growth.

Great vid! I'm new to FF14 and I just leveled a paladin up to 55. This class feels amazing and seeing that you can play tank support in pvp sounds and looks like a ton of fun.

Great stuff! Been getting into PvP lately and Paladin is my main for everything in the game. Nice to see that it still has some utility, even despite the weaknesses in attack.
This video is fairly old now as well so Paladin can now deal a fair bit more damage, encase your un aware you can now do a paladin explosion dive where you activate Sheltron and dive in last second you can deal some nice aoe damage to combine with confiteor :D

Paladin LB and careful use of resources took about 15 players from the enemy team in frontline to kill me. It was ridiculous how long it took them, I was alone btw 😂 I was only playing to level an alt job and it was my first time playing it today. This job seems fun lol
It is unreal sometimes how many players will get baited by Paladins and lose the game because off it XD
I find the paladin to be has hard as reaper. At least, if compared to the other classes, but with your tips, it will be easier. Ty for the guides
Hardest thing I find with reaper is holding off for the full 8 stacks off sacrifice but after practice I got the hang off it. Glad the guide could help.
I have plenty of CC experience on pld but when it comes to frontline I feel rather useless at times do to low damage and inability to focus on my surroundings that well when neck deep in a group of enemies. I also feel like while heavily getting crowd controled is true tho they usually just ignore me til my group around is all dead and swarm me when nobody else is left. Makes sense cuz I would do the same in that situation. Since paladin damage is so low I've had great success ignoring them altogether if they are not alone and just trying to avoid the occasional stun from them. As for the cover thing, I even got trolled by a blm twice today; tried to help shield them and they just walked a circle from our side of the center crystal past the enemies side and came back almost dying to a samurai and when I protected them again they immediately did the same thing. Pretty sure some people just wanna give the other team a freebie at times.
It is usually the way Paladins are tough to take down but not all that threatening so the best play is the focus the team around them first, I feel you on the Guard I either safe it for people I play with or occasionally getting a random out off a bad situation I don't trust most players not to do something stupid XD, also a nice burst trick you can do with Paladin which catches people off guard is to active Holy Sheltron and wait 3 seconds, dash into the enemy team and which put Sheltron should detonate for 150% damage off the remaining barrier while applying heavy, then you can drop Confiteor, Its rather good burst damage and forces out purifys
Checking vids on all jobs to find out what i have been missing out on, PLD looks as it might be ultimate combo with DRK. Great vid as always, never stops to amaze me how you pull out those crazy numbers regardles of job, and congrats to your awesome team too, gg

Been playing pal since 6.2, good review of the class btw! Paladin can do decent burst damage on targets if you position your Attonement well. Going in after casting Confiter with Attonement ready and having 2 Intervenes and Shield bash rdy can fish good burst dps while also healing from attonement + confiter. Altho it's situatinal to get to that too begin with since GCDs are always going off depending on the circumstances of the battle. With that being said, i so agree with how risky it can be to use cover in Frontline and for that reason alone paladin is much better in CC. Those are my thoughts tho! Love paladin

do you think using a mouse and keyboard is an advantage in pvp? i see your a controller user. im learning to use a controller and having fun but im just hands down better with keyboard because i played all my mmos on it besides ff14
I think it is definitely an advantage for target selection and being able to rapidly check around you. I just prefer controller myself since I have been using it on ffxiv since the ps3 days.
I am also a controller user. It's a lot easier on my wrists and my elbow. Playing on keyboard and mouse just puts strain on my arms after many hours.
