Smoke Sprite was recorded when RM was working on his album, Indigo. When SoYoon played some songs to RM, he liked a song but there were no lyrics just the melody. He was struck by inspiration and physically fell on his knees in the studio and that's how 'Take on my knees' happened. SoYoon liked it and further they started working on the lyrics together.
So!YoON is an indie artist. She is not kpop. K-pop would never accept her vocals. Kpop has such a rigid structure. She is hot because she is not doing the usual. It has an epic feel to it.

That guitar gives Prince & even Outkast vibes to me. Her voice reminds me of Erykah’s on Humble Mumble with the vibe of maybe Prototype but much heavier on the guitar. This is one of my favorite collabs a member has done.

The smoke sprite is a refference yo old American cartoons she says, when something explodes or something vanishes in a puff of smoke, it a way of expressing how the moment of passing comes over you, you have your moment of love and then it's gone.
This is definitely one of my fav RM collabs, but it's hard to rank them all since he's such a chameleon on his features, bringing the utmost respect while I'm *always* surprised at his parts in first listen because a lot of the songs already sound 'full' before his part -- and after his portion, it becomes 'couldn't imagine it any other way' (mind blown). If you decide to continue with his features, I suggest "Don't ever say love me" - Colde ft. RM next. This MUSIC! *chefs kiss* So Yoon mentioned in an interview she went to a bilingual grade school for a while (pSick interview for those who want to check it out).

If RM is gonna do anything, it's pick amazing artists to collab with and put ARMY on. It's often lesser known artists who you might not seen splashed everywhere so it's often a fresh new discovery. RM actually tends to gravitate to indie or smaller artists and gives them a lot of spotlight when the media covers them via him. SoYoon is so good but she has a much smaller following so those numbers were new for her. She was really lovely and thankful to ARMY for also supporting her music. She deserved it. She's cold on the guitar and her live vocals are just as beautiful as the MV. And yeah RM used his natural voice (lower/deeper) on this and ended us with them lyrics. Usually he pitches up his speaking voice to make it easier to hear. Whoo lawd! He had us in shambles that first week trying to recover. Btw RM is featuring on a Megan Thee Stallion track called 'Neva Play' and it's coming out on Friday 6th Sept. We're excited af!

I noticed one more thing. SoYoon was powerful, both in terms of vocals and body language and on the other hand, RM was soft and gentle . So, I think it’s about a passionate relationship where one is powerful and dominating and other one is soft and submissive. I may be wrong here.
My interpretation of the video is that he thinks he's seducing her and she's the one submitting -- until the very end when you see that it's the exact opposite. We get those images of a bridge or walkway passing through a long, cylindrical space, and that's a very obvious reference to straight sex (like the classic train-going-into-a-tunnel thing). But even though it looks like we're going down at first, meaning he's in charge, at the end we realize we're going up and she's sitting *alone* on top of it all -- glowing golden and looking very satisfied. So it was really her seducing him all along by making him *think* he was in charge. And since the lyrics keep saying "stuck with you in your dreams," he thought it was going to be a one night stand, but now he can't stop dreaming about her. Buckubucku is absolutely crazy I don't know why there aren't more reactions on it or why it isn't played on UA-cam more often. RM was real young when he did this collab with them.

This is one of my favorite RM collabs, and it SLAPS in the car. You need to check out his collab with Wale called “Change”. Even though the song is a few years old, the lyrics to that song are very relevant even today. He also has a collab with Warren G from his earlier days called “P.D.D”.

That guitar gives Prince & even Outkast vibes to me. Her voice reminds me of Erykah’s on Humble Mumble with the vibe of maybe Prototype but much heavier on the guitar. This is one of my favorite collabs a member has done.

She described it in an interview as a metaphoric example and way to explaine, passion, love and desire. The smoke sprite is a refference yo old American cartoons she says, when something explodes or something vanishes in a puff of smoke, it a way of expressing how the moment of passing comes over you, you have your moment of love and then it's gone.
This is definitely one of my fav RM collabs, but it's hard to rank them all since he's such a chameleon on his features, bringing the utmost respect while I'm *always* surprised at his parts in first listen because a lot of the songs already sound 'full' before his part -- and after his portion, it becomes 'couldn't imagine it any other way' (mind blown).
If you decide to continue with his features, I suggest "Don't ever say love me" - Colde ft. RM next. This MUSIC! *chefs kiss*

Soyoon she is a fantastic guitarist
If RM is gonna do anything, it's pick amazing artists to collab with and put ARMY on. It's often lesser known artists who you might not seen splashed everywhere so it's often a fresh new discovery. RM actually tends to gravitate to indie or smaller artists and gives them a lot of spotlight when the media covers them via him. SoYoon is so good but she has a much smaller following so those numbers were new for her. She was really lovely and thankful to ARMY for also supporting her music. She deserved it. She's cold on the guitar and her live vocals are just as beautiful as the MV.
And yeah RM used his natural voice (lower/deeper) on this and ended us with them lyrics. Usually he pitches up his speaking voice to make it easier to hear. Whoo lawd! He had us in shambles that first week trying to recover.
Btw RM is featuring on a Megan Thee Stallion track called 'Neva Play' and it's coming out on Friday 6th Sept. We're excited af!

Oooh, for V 'Singularity' is a must!! RM did the lyrics. The song was V's solo on one of the earlier BTS albums. That series if albums featured solos from each member of the vocal line around the topic of love. Jimin-Serendipty (ideal love), Jungkook-Euphoria (new love), V-Singularity (lost love), Jin-Epiphany (self love).
This song is one that really grew on me. Every time it comes up on my playlist I’m reminded of how much I love it.

I agree. I thought the same in the beginning. I gives me Prince vibes. She is an amazing guitarist. Her vocals are insane. She also sounds amazing live.
I noticed one more thing. SoYoon was powerful, both in terms of vocals and body language and on the other hand, RM was soft and gentle . So, I think it’s about a passionate relationship where one is powerful and dominating and other one is soft and submissive. I may be wrong here.
My interpretation of the video is that he thinks he's seducing her and she's the one submitting -- until the very end when you see that it's the exact opposite. We get those images of a bridge or walkway passing through a long, cylindrical space, and that's a very obvious reference to straight sex (like the classic train-going-into-a-tunnel thing). But even though it looks like we're going down at first, meaning he's in charge, at the end we realize we're going up and she's sitting *alone* on top of it all -- glowing golden and looking very satisfied. So it was really her seducing him all along by making him *think* he was in charge. And since the lyrics keep saying "stuck with you in your dreams," he thought it was going to be a one night stand, but now he can't stop dreaming about her. And she's gone because she got what she wanted from him and then just left.

17:49 when I first heard that song, I was heavily reminded of skunk anansie. I don’t know how popular they’ve been in the US back in the 90s, but their singer Skin had a voice… unbelievably good. The feel smoke sprite gave me was similar.
