The ocean water is murky because of all the silt and sediment originating thousands of miles away. It is carried by South America's rivers that empty out onto Guyana's Atlantic coast. The ocean waves push the silt and sediment back towards the coast creating the mud flats. It may not be aesthetically pleasing but the water is not filthy. It is very rich in organic matter and produces a fertile coast. When you were there, the tide was out so it was super muddy. When the tide is coming in, you can absolutely walk or swim in the water (still brown but not as muddy).
The beaches of Guyana are brown and muddy due to our 3 massive rivers leading out to sea. The tidal changes are so aggressive between high and low tides that erosion is prevalent along the river banks leading to turbidity and the muddyness you see.
The water is like that because we have mud flats also that is not our sewage System that you saw but our drainage Systems that helps us to drain the water out to sea when we have flooding in the rainy season

The water is murky because the belt is of clay and not pure sand as the other Caribbean Sea belt .
I’m heartbroken 💔 to hear this, so sad 😞. Praying for this parents, hope god grant them strength and comfort during this difficult time 🙏
Bro tip for future. The security guard for the light house would of let you go in if you had turn the camera and offered him some money. But because you offered the money with the camera running you blew your chance. So next time turn the camera off and pay your bribe and they will even allow you to take a picture with the president!😂
Coco boy, Georgetown is only the capital of Guyana , You have to go to Berbice, and Essequibo, Guyana is 83 thousand square miles.

Can someone explain why can Coco boy could not go upstairs the light house, because I was also waiting for the man to give a good reason why.
That's private property, but the guard was reasonable enough take ah bribe to let him go up but 200GYD cant even buy ah coconut water so imagine him losing his job for that 😂money talks in this town
He said it closed due to COVID and never reopened. Maybe they have trouble keeping reliable staff or some other reason.
He didn't have a good explanation. They should have a sign. It's that simple. What's so difficult about that. If it's dangerous or something needs renovation say so. 🤔

He started from the Hood, to use his exact words, so that's the impression he got. But Alboystown (The Hood) and the Stabroek Market isn't a reflection of Guyana.
Was a good one Shai, ignore the people on here moaning.
Guyanese ppl especially the women are very traditional and conservative . Thats is why they don’t like the cameras and won’t speak to strangers ect 🇹🇹🏴
