I first read about the book American Dervish, a couple of years ago, and I had a feeling that the author was a liberal muslim. I am glad that he has continued to write, provocatively and in a commanding manner - something that is not easy for most pakistani muslims. The fact that he won the Pulitzer, raises his esteem a lot higher. I salute his efforts, which can only help multiculturalism ( even if, in a small way - ) and I pray for his safety.
