Difference Between Resistance Training, Cardio and Aerobic Exercises

  • Although we often think we understand the difference between resistance training, Cardio and Aerobic Exercise, in fact a lot depends on how that exercise is executed, our own personal fitness level, our particular strengths and weaknesses and our own particular fitness goals.
    This means that we can, if we choose, turn any exercise into any of the three types of workout and, strictly speaking there are elements of each type of workout present in each kind of exercise.
    So, when it comes to training muscles (i.e. resistance work) or working Cardio or doing Aerobics, it is always better to start with our own fitness goals and needs as a starting point and then decide in either how we shall execute a particular exercise or the kind of workout we will choose that will activate the kind of adaptations in our body that we seek.
