This is the first album in a very long time that has managed to make Fantano review it with the energy that he's contemplating killing himself. Not even a 9 hour Mac Demarco demo collection was able to achieve that, nice job Destroy Lonely!
I love this album but strong 1 is actually higher than I was expecting Anthony to give it. I was full on expecting him to like it even less than No Stylist and give it a 0. I'm actually a little hyped this got a strong 1
i liked no stylist a LOT more than this. i'd say this is like a 2 but no stylist is a strong 6 (although the single for this album was really good) lone easily is the best opium member out rn.

Its funny how "Pop Sh*t / Xtra" is better and more interesting than 80% of the album and that song is almost 2 minutes long. Broken Hearts still remains to be his best album.

You should do a review on Homixide Gang's snot or not album. I have a feeling you wont like it but I think it does a much better job at giving people more of Carti's sound than ken and lonely. While some of the vocals are sloppy and some of the songs repetative it's a very short album with some good beat selection and more variety compared previous albums of theirs.
I was more excited for this review then the album itself cuz i knew fantano would go in on it 😂

It seems like destroy Lonely and a lot of these younger artists that got famous of TikTok don’t tend to care about putting much effort, it’s a rushed project. It was something just to put out. These kids get blown up overnight so they don’t get to develop a good work ethic and consistency. It’s like a kid just putting out music for fun and suddenly the next day they get record and label deals, now suddenly they have a career but not the work and discipline ethic.
Perfectly said. Its sad because you see the raw talent in a lot of these young artists and you can just look at their highlights and think wow it can only go up from here… then you’re quickly let down and honestly, kind of feel led astray and stupid for even tuning in. You just hoped they took the time to hone their sound or put some actual work/thought into their songs but, its became clear that they dont quite take their careers seriously. Which is especially weird coming from Destroy Lonely given that he’s under Carti, someone who, if you look at his career has always taken time and clearly cares about his music and how it’s received

Anthony isn’t the type to just hate for no reason. Wether he’s into the music or not he looks at the influence it has, production, the vocals, as well as tons of other important points. I like this style of rap and Lonely has never really hit for me. Still huge respect to him and the things he’s accomplished as a young artist. He’s killing it rn.

idk i feel like you had a similar opinion on Gunna and Lil Baby when they first started gaining prominence. you viewed them as essentially less interesting clones of Thug and whether or not that was true at the time, they blossomed into mainstream artists within a couple years.
