    Thanks for making an actually detailed review of how the bass sounds. So many reviewers talk for like ten minutes then play some rock thing on the bass for like a minute. You my sir went into a lot of great detail and I appreciate the different styles you played on it. What a versatile bass. Loving the plucky articulate sound, and, it still has warm bass frequencies.

    I have a QX Steiny, wood body, composite neck.
    The players that picked these up had no idea what they had in their hands.
    Great vid.

    Nice Jaco tune. I've had my XL2 since 1989, and used it mostly for reggae. That killer tone comes from the dense resin that Steinbergers are molded from. The copies made from wood don't sound nearly as good.

      Thanks man! Man I totally agree and sadly people usually judge these basses from the copies, which makes these basses underrated! It is no way the same as any of the copies!

    Sounds really sweet, bro! You have Victor Wooten's fingertips! Of course, I mean that in the figurative sense. :)

    1) I have practically the same historical experience as you with this bass (and the honher B2A that I've had for 30 years and which is very good if you do the right thing with changing electronics and pickups ). the only nuance is that for these two basses (and the others) I prefer to switch them to passive, it's to say without the need for a battery whether for pickups or any internal preamp ...
    for the rest I totally agree with you:
    the versatility, power and dynamism (substain, harmonic) of this bass due to its construction characteristics are as impressive as they are unknown (although and less unknown thanks to you: ^)
    2) can you tell me the brand of your strap because I am looking for an identical one adapted to my XL2
    thank you

    Wow, this looks spanky new...Mine is a bit worn. When was it build? Wich string gauge did you put on?

    • @jcherrymusicworld
      @jcherrymusicworld  3 роки тому +1

      The Original build was in the 80s but it was recently restored by Headless USA. I don’t know the exact gauge numbers but I would say medium. It came with D’Addario strings.

  • @bassistdc
    @bassistdc 3 роки тому +1

    I would not like the narrow string spacing. Good tone though.
