      tourists, in general, are not disturbed by the bandhs and the protests but it is wise to stay tuned to the news/updates on how things are unfolding. The main thing to keep in mind is that if a strike/bandh is announced in the market then shops will be closed. So, you will need to stock up on previous days on any supplies/eateries you want to buy when traveling to other places in Ladakh.

But I am planning to extend another 4- 5days.. as I am wiling to see hanley , hunder dunes, turtuk... since I am solo traveler is there any option in jan apart from private taxis ( considering this is not peak tourist season)

    • @discoverwithdheeraj
      @discoverwithdheeraj  23 дні тому

      Unless you are lucky enough to find the right travel partners for same dates, Private taxi is the best option for you to cover all those places in January as it will be tough to find shared taxis. And since local transport will be limited availability you may not be able to cover all of them accordingly to a set itinerary. So, you may try mix of local transport and private taxi as a next best option.

      Yes you can stay in Panammik or Sumur after visiting Siachen base camp from Hunder and then next day move to Pangong Lake. Just confirm is Shyok route is open or not because sometimes it closes due to river coming on road in August. Then you need to take Wari La route. Video coming tomorrow.

      for now, tourists, in general, are not disturbed by the bandhs but it is wise to stay tuned to the news/updates on how things are unfolding. The main thing to keep in mind is that if a strike/bandh is announced in the market then shops will be closed. So, you will need to stock up on previous days on any supplies/eateries you want to buy when traveling to other places in Ladakh.

    I just want to visit hanle village for milkyway sightseeing. I don't have too much interest in other places. What will be a safe itinerary so that I can avoid AMS and reach hanle safey? I am in banglore and I can reach leh by flight or I can come to jammu and then go leh via srinagar leh highway as you said it's more safer. I just want to know how to reach hanle safely (around june)

      @@discoverwithdheeraj Thank you so much for taking out the time and writing all this out. One last little question - which month will be best for milkyway sightseeing? (although I have read that hanle has around 250 clear nights so I guess any ON season month should be good enough I think. I will further make sure to reach hanle on a dark moon night to avoid the moonlight). Also should I be concerned about rainfall? If yes which season to avoid.

    Hi Sir, We are planning to travel to ladakh with my 7 yr old daughter in June over 12 days with your suggested itinerary that is from srinagar leh highway and descend from Leh manali highway.
    Sir, I am just worried whether this 12 days iternary will be safe or not too daring for my 7yr old? Kindly give your opinion.

    • @discoverwithdheeraj
      @discoverwithdheeraj  8 місяців тому

      Hmm.. do you have an option to add more days to your plan? IF yes, I can recommend a more relaxed itinerary to add some rest days in between so that it does not get taxing because in that 12 day plan you are almost on road every day for next place/destination. Also, are you self driving or can fly to Srinagar and take taxi from there?

      Are you planning to visit Leh by flight? i am assuming you are.. well within Leh it shall be OK but in case weather predictions are bad on the day you are traveling from Leh to Nubra Valley or Pangong Lake over Changla Pass, then better avoid and explore around Leh only.. if weather is fine and traffic is allowed than local taxi guy will know if to travel or not.. but in general within Leh and around it is OK even in winter time

    • @discoverwithdheeraj
      @discoverwithdheeraj  8 місяців тому +1

      Well, Ladakh is a high altitude region and an adventure travel destination so some amount of risk will always be there. You are going in shoulder season when mostly conditions are cold and lakes/passes are very cold. So you will have to go prepared and make sure that you are not taking undue risks. In just 4 days, it will be like you can spend time around Leh only and then couple of days in Nubra Valley

    Sir, I was (a total of 8 members) planning to visit Ladakh at the end of june'2024 from Manali to Leh by bikes but here facing a problem with the bikes rental shop owners. They are saying that nowadays Ladakh people/Government are not allowing outside motor vehicles in Ladakh. Is it true ?
    Please reply the above query & guide me on how I travel by bike.
    If it is possible to travel from manali to Leh by bike, please provide a trustworthy & better bike rental shop owners contact details in Manali.
    Is it preferable to visit Ladakh at the end of June month ?
    Please clear all above queries. Thanks in advance.
