Paisas - as the folks from Medellín and Antioquia are affectionately known - are famously friendly people. It's not unusual to feel welcome anywhere you go Colombia, but in Medellín you get the sense that people genuinely are very happy to see you there.
Nice travel video Jeff. The city is very colorful and looks interesting. Really liked the street scenes, graffiti artwork, and mountainside neighborhoods. I wonder if living at a high elevation is good for your health?
Growing up I always remember hearing about Medellin’s turbulent past but after watching your video I would love to visit the place. Looks like a vibrant and beautiful city. Your tour of city along with the music make the video so enjoyable to watch. Looking forward to checkin out your others videos . Happy Travels!
Thx for sharing jeff looked a really cool progressive city a bit of rain for us from Cave creek is a nice change ! Loved the transit options and the Art Deco .
Great Job I were there4 times on vacation just kept going back loved it next time Show VivaEnvigado amazing commercial center open air on Top3rd floor thank you
Thank you for pointing out that the majority of Colombian people are sooo over talking about Pablo Escobar. The last thing they wanna hear is a foreigner saying the words Pablo Escobar to them. Colombia is about so much more than that brief time in history. 17:38 Thanks again!
Looks like a really cool city. Because of all the hills it reminds me a touch of where my ex is from, Belo Horizonte Brazil (which isn't rally cool). But as a Canadian who wants to escape the cold and wet weather in winter and head for some sun, the constant rain year round, it seems, puts me off a bit.
They should rename it the City of the Eternal Rain. Rains all the time here. The pollution is actually pretty bad but thanks to the long C19 lockdown awhile ago and also restrictions on driving, based on license plate numbers, and a concerted attempt to plant more trees ... it has gotten better.
I’ve visited bogota and Leticia then flew over to cusco and visited places around there. I want to go back to Colombia. I was going to go back to bogota but the more I research the better in liking Medellin. Temperature is warmer, public transit, closer to the coastline if I want to visit. If you were to move to Colombia for 3-6 months out of the year from the states what city would you love to in Colombia. (Any city)
Ok ....good video ....good material ... You need to know, ... The famous Boteri sculpture that was blown up by Pablo Escobar, ... Can not ....be ...repared..... Because it is an eternal display of the historical bomb by the Medellin Cartel.... You need to understand this from a historical perspective.... It is an eternal memory to the historical violent event .... You also need to know that all of the Boteri sculptures we're donated by the most famous painting and sculpturist Fernando Boteri.... Each sculpture or statue is priced at $ 5 million USA Dollars each sculpture.. The park has about 20 sculptures... Multiply 5 Millon X 25 sculptures... Is over 100 million USA Dollars.... I have traveled to Al cities in Latin America.... Medellin is the Best city in Latin America.... It is also called the most innovative city in the world.... As declared by ... Wall Street Journal, and by Citi group... 2 powerful entities from the USA. .
well im from colombia, and asking your question, the colombian people is recognized for being one of the kindest. the only thing i would say u gotta take care while you are in colombia, its of your own properties, as an example, try not to show constantly flashy things (that reveals thar you are having things) cuz u may be robbed (do not give papaya ""colombian expression"")
no. they take dollars in ecuador, but not in Colombia. you're better off not taking dollars at all, and just using the ATM and getting Colombian pesos out of the machine. if you bank with a good place, zero fees and good exchange rate.
Hi, ive been watching your wonderful videos. If pressed for time Medellin or Cartagena? Also how many days in each place if i had to do them both? Bogota looks a bit too cold for me .Thx
Just a tidbit in Colombian and many Latin American cultures shorts are considered childish, so if you decide to go to Colombia and walk around stores mall and don’t want to stand out more than you already are wear pants.
My flight to Medellin arrives at midnight. How safe is it to take a taxi to poblado from the airport? I’ve read of taxis stopping at traffic lights and getting robbed whether by coincidence or part of a conspiracy
The airport is far from the city. I would recommend getting one of those radio taxis (guys in vests) at the airport. As far as the drive in goes. It’s a toll road. Through two tunnels then you arrive above Medellin. You don’t really go through any tough areas on the way to poblado. So my assumption would be no problem at all.
It’s about a 30-45 minute ride from airport to pobaldo usually very safe there are a number of taxis waiting oustide as Uber is still technically illegal so u have to use taxi leaving airport but once you are in the city Uber works fine the price is also pre set I was there last week 80-90 mil 25-30usd
in spanish EXPAT means you were forced to leave your country, typically happens to iconic people as politicians, the family of criminals or just someone who does not have very good reputación, but in English just means immigrant.
This video was very good but i have to disagree with you about Simón Bolívar and George Washington being on the same level. You do realize that George Washington actually had slaves. Mr. Bolivar fought to stop slavery.
You know only one part of the history. I’m not going to say anything about G Washington, but Bolivar had a dark side of the history that leftist don’t want you know.
The market will be very favourable now due to the rapid growth of Bitcoin which is $61k, The rich won't disclose it so don't be fooled, it's right time to invest, Christmas is on the way🎄

Can a person still have a good time without knowing Spanish?
It's amazing how moderate the climate is being so close to the equator. Bogota and Medillin is like being in a cool cloud forest.
I know! We have the Andes to thank for that - a true phenomenon
Glad to see another gringo in this beautiful city that I love.....great video !
