Thank you guys for sharing this amazing place. Eventually Mother Nature will reclaim all of that area, and that slice of History will be lost and forgotten. Really stunning to see the doors still in place on the ammo pockets of that Flak position. As you said, such a rare thing to see. Quite amazing. Thank you both for persevering through that undergrowth to bring us this quite fascinating place. Cannot wait to see what else is there. Cheers to you al! Stay Safe!
yes i think you are right and that is why i wanted to show this place so we can see that actually happening. Those doors are so rare actually and i loved seing them still there. Thank you Peter and more to come :)
Thanks! The German soldiers fought a long and hard battle. Good job scouting the area EE. You make an awesome soldier. Once again I am amazed on how well laid out and planned this German fortification is. I should be used to it by now as it has been proven to be the case time and time again. You mentioned that the locals have witnessed search lights in that area. You have piqued my curiosity. Will you be looking further into that? Amazing to see the only intact FLAK 88 position - impressive. Too bad the bunker you found was blown up. Would have been very interesting to see it still intact. Looking forward to P2 of that area. Thanks EE and HH.
Yes Laura that is a great location to look into and loved it. We will hopefully be able to follow up here with more in the future. Thank you Laura and the very best from us.
Eagle Eyes, I enjoy hearing you involved in the dialogue with your dad, HH. Your intro video choice was a good contrast to how nature proves again who is really in charge. Thanks for the time progression ariels of the sight.
That flak 88 was fantastic never never seen the doors before! That place just came to life . It was waiting on you and EE . Well can’t wait to see the bunker that EE found ! Way to go !! Be careful ! Be safe ! Love the location ! 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
What a brilliant episode. I ne er knew that the ammo pockets had doors! Thank you HH and EE for taking us through the thick overgrowth to explore this position. The action tape, pictures and then the restored FLAK 88 was fantastic to see. (PS - I was excited to see my name but this amazing team is what truly deserves our gratitude. We see footage that is not available on other history sites!)
Too bad it was so overgrown but still a fantastic place to see! You and Eagle Eyes are amazing, always finding these historically intact places. I can picture the Germans here fighting for what they believed in and working so hard to do so. Thank you both for sharing and going out of your way to share this with us. I can't wait to see more. Take care and stay safe. 💖💯
I'm always impressed by the amount of research that you guys put into your explorations and discoveries. Amazing how much they area has changed and transformed over the years. Thank you for sharing. Keep up the excellent work ❤️
Amazing how nature is reclaiming the land at this site. I can only imagine what might be buried below the surface. Thanks as always to you and EE for your efforts and for sharing.
Fantastic research carried out again, it is great that it paid off for you and you made some findings. I think it is the first time I have seen the doors on the ammo stores of a Flak gun position.
What a wonderful location. Your use of the maps and Aerials is great in showing us the original context of the location. I suspect many people don't even know that it there at all. Thank you and eagle eyes for all your hard work.
I've always been fascinated with the 88, it's a versatile weapon ,1st used as an AA gun then in the desert, Rommel used it as an A.T gun, worked as F.A., Coastal Artillery, an all around general purpose gun.
@@WW2HistoryHunter Well built, with a good crew, that gun could do a lot of damage the range finder Germany had was a piece of art, very well made and accurate, pin point accuracy, I had a relative who was a tail gunner on a B24 , got shot down over France
I'm running so crazy over here after the hurricane. The place I was renting got destroyed by the hurricane. But better late than never. Great to see Eagle Eyes and Dad out doing what you guys do best. Thanks for the adventure and an escape from reality....which is kinda ruff right now!!!!!
What a jungle you had to work through to locate those positions! I am very impressed by the doors remaining in the one flak position as I always wondered if they were enclosed. Mother nature can really change the look of the terrain in the time since the war; it is so good you are documenting these things for posterity! Another great video! I look forward to what comes next! You and EE stay safe and stay well!!
Wow! You realize that is the first time I have seen the doors on the ammo storage area. I just kept looking at the doors in awe! That def was worth the trip to find those. Waiting to see what is ahead in the 3rd video. Nicely done EE and, you as well HH. Stay well and safe
Another great showing by HH and company. My friend you have some of the best sites that time has forgotten. I see a weekend project, cleaning the 88-gun pit back to end of war condition. I guess that would upset people, but it would preserve history. Can't wait for the next installment. Stay safe and well both of you,
Those 88's were massive in themself's , no doubt the fixed positions would be huge. looks like the farmer couldn't fool EE tho. Be safe guys and have fun
Another great explore, finding the positions even after they have been mostly destroyed. Really like the photos of the models. Great work, hello to EE. Thank you both for another exciting video.
With the amount of devastation of these bunkers and so little left It would make one believe this was an important site and the Allies believed it had to be obliterated Thank you for sharing even with so much still left at this site.... Be safe and be well and careful my friends...
Your 88 position looks very similar to some coastal gun positions on an island, if I remember right, on the coast of British Columbia, Canada, including the doors on what they said were ammo storage.
That's amazing yiu and Elise found an intact flak 88 position with the door intact which we have not seen yet thank for all the amazing research all 3 of you do we all can enjoy your videos.
Thank you for another fascinating video! It was good to see that restored flak gun in such perfect condition as it shows the high degree of technology involved in the manufacture of such a devastating weapon. I wish the bunker ovens which you'd found on previous trips could have been transported, restored and then shown in a similar museum as they are rare, historical artefacts. You need a machete to hack down the undergrowth in these sites!
Traben-Trarbach,Mont Royal,,has a Flak, site,, way bette,r and there's a big camping Hut there ,we used to throw big parties there, back in the 80s and 90s when I was stationed there, with the Air Force ,and I lived in Krov, down on the Mosel.
Awesome Flack gun 88 tours. I'm surprised it's still intact. Nature tries to hide artifacts, but I think it will remain for many years. Good stuff! Say, if you ever come across a Junkers JU-87B wreckage, or factory or anything Stuka, I would love to see it. Thanks!
very very interesting location. at least it's not all complete forest to hide the secrets that still lie there left to be found. great video HH & EE. I definitely would be lost trying to find that location on that long windy road 😂😂
Was this area bombed during the war? May explain why so much damage. The farmers were probably pissed off because the Germans took there land and built this location. So after the war, the farmers tried to reclaim their land and erase all evidence of the Germans being there. The Flak location was a great find and seeing the ammunition pocket doors still there was fantastic. If people don’t watch the entire video they miss so much. I didn’t realize they had dials like that on the guns. I thought they just had brass rings with the degrees on them and you crank a handle with a arrow on it to set the firing solution. Learn something new with each video.
Wow, you really did find a jungle to take us too this time, and boy was it worthwhile. That complete (almost) 88 Flak position, still with the doors on the ready rounds pockets. I t is a shame, but understandable, that the farmers try to take back the land that was used to build these positions. From our point of view, it is a pity, and a blessing. The blessing is we get to share the discoveries with you and EE. Looking forward to part 3 and what else you will find for us. Stay safe and well my freinds
What if only this place was left as it was then it would have been one of the best 88 positions ever. But glad i could share that Barry. Thanks and greetings from us.
The area is certainly beautiful, but the hidden history is even more exciting. It is clear that in time everything is overgrown, it takes effort to reach your goal. The place is apparently not much visited.
I bet before the war this was very nice farm land. Then the Germans came and took over and built their installations for the defense of Germany. After the war the farmer tried to reclaim his land to farm but with so many structures and features he was unable to so he let it be overgrown with vegetation. It must have been exciting to not expect anything to be there and then you find the destroyed bunker and then the 88mm gun placement. Seeing the doors still there on the ammunition pockets was great. I always look at locations like this and wish I was able to help preserve it back to its glory. Thankfully you are there to preserve on film.
Wow this is fantastic. Just to stand in the position those soldiers were must have been emotional. I know it would be for me and I'm an American. Every nation did their duties in this terrible war. Glad EE has a chance to see this. We should never forget what happened 70+ years ago. That restored gun is fabulous & I love the little diorama of the gun crew. Can't wait to see #3.
What a place HH & EE. Definitely a lot of war activity went down. Yes, we must remember the German soldiers were just like the allied, they had families/loved ones, they felt pain, fear, had dreams of what they wanted their lives to be. They too experienced many acts of bravery. Thank you HH for reminding us of that. 💗 EE is growing into a fine young man. That's what happens when you feed and water them. 😁 Did you put together the anti-aircraft gun position model with the German soldiers EE? If so, excellent job. What a well appointed and constructed gun the FLAK 88 was- REGAL. Thanks for showing us around the only remaining FLAK 88 position. Just imagine the activity that went on there. Will look forward to seeing if you found the Regelbau EE & HH. Thks, stay safe you two.
Indeed Laura some locations are just awesome to look into and loving it. Should have been great to be a witness of what took place there. Thanks and greetings from us.
I am absolutely glad that you guys were able to find this position that 88 mm that is one big gun well thank you for sharing this episode with me and this is for eagle eyes I hope you're doing well with your arm I am one of your biggest fan Eli's I'm very proud of you you are right history is everywhere it's a shame that it's getting erased I wish you an eagle eyes the best you are the top of UA-cam I don't care what they say proud to be German
When I am not in the wild outdoors ( woods and wild animals) or at home is when I can watch your adventures my friend from Germany and yes I understand the German language and I have almost lost the language
I read that the 88 was a fine weapon when used on land- based targets, such as tanks. But in their main role as a FLAK gun, a tremendous amount of metal had to be thrown into the sky to hit an aircraft.
Hello Eli it's Victor from the United States how are you today young man your dad does a pretty cool show hopefully you'll follow in his footstep thanks Dad for your time and I wish I could help you as a patriot but unfortunately I'm on tough times right now myself not saying you are but I am having said that I still enjoy your show thank you

Thanks for the video HH and EE this place has definitely been taken back by nature, but the history is still there and Always will be because of the dumps of there rubbish in the ground. But for the positions like the amazing Flak gun sadly one day it might be gone. Looking forward to seeing the next part!!😎🐓🐓🐓🐓🇬🇧🙂
the 88 mm in the museum is not compléte because not armour plate in front ,and the tube of canon is too short ,cutting part, not wheels for move certainainely a 88mm buy of normandie museum ,juste good repaint and télemetrie
Superb find do you think it was used during the Cold War.The brain dead spray paint vandals have caused so much damage very sad. Many thanks for the explore👏👏👏👏
Thanks!
That is so kind of you my friend and will come in handy out there on the next adventure :) Greetings from us.
Love your videos and greetings from Scotland

So true and thanks my friend.

I've always been fascinated with the 88, it's a versatile weapon ,1st used as an AA gun then in the desert, Rommel used it as an A.T gun, worked as F.A., Coastal Artillery, an all around general purpose gun.
Sure was a special gun during those days and so reliable too. Thanks William :)
@@WW2HistoryHunter Well built, with a good crew, that gun could do a lot of damage the range finder Germany had was a piece of art, very well made and accurate, pin point accuracy, I had a relative who was a tail gunner on a B24 , got shot down over France

Agree so rare to find them. Actually we have only seen these metal doors twice before on a 88 location. Thanks.

Yes Allen , this is a major cool place to look into and i think more will present itself later. Thanks my friend.

Hello there Earl and greetings from us.
Was this area bombed during the war? May explain why so much damage. The farmers were probably pissed off because the Germans took there land and built this location. The allies did try to get it but it was very well camouflaged and tons of FLAK all over the place so very difficult. Thanks my friend.
Wow, you really did find a jungle to take us too this time, and boy was it worthwhile. That complete (almost) 88 Flak position, still with the doors on the ready rounds pockets. Thanks for watching.
I recognize Tamiyas 1/35 German 88 gun and the posture of the figures! Nice dio!
Thanks Vincent :)
my question was it blown up during the war and if so would it still have bodies arms ammo and stuff in the bunker
i couldnt tell you and thanks for watching.

Love the haunted aspect to this!
There is according to the locals " stuff " going on. I really couldnt tell but interesting pace it is. Thanks.
Hello Eagle Eye's and Dad 💟
Hello form EE and me here and glad you are with us :)
I can almost smell the cordite but I don't think the 88s used that. Thanks again for a great outing.
Thanks for watching Dave and such a great place to explore :)
it's cool even in the modern pictures I can see the scars in the earth from ww2. And from structures where they once were
Yes one can and i love this place. Thanks Lennard.
I read that the 88 was a fine weapon when used on land- based targets, such as tanks. But in their main role as a FLAK gun, a tremendous amount of metal had to be thrown into the sky to hit an aircraft.
So true and a impressive thing it is. Thanks Gene.
Hello Eli it's Victor from the United States how are you today young man your dad does a pretty cool show hopefully you'll follow in his footstep thanks Dad for your time and I wish I could help you as a patriot but unfortunately I'm on tough times right now myself not saying you are but I am having said that I still enjoy your show thank you
Hello Victor. i think you mean Eagle Eyes , not Eli. Thanks for watching and greetings from us.
My apologies sir I thought your son's name was Eli the young man who's always with you you call them eagle eye and so be it and your name is once again this is Victor from the United States New Jersey to be precise I like to call the armpit of the country just joking I assume you live in Germany I'm a big history buff my grandfather fought in the United States army under general Patton third army I believe came in through Normandy not on D-Day and advanced into Germany I don't know how soon after D-Day he got there I do know he did a good tour there I'm not sure how long they were and under the grace of God he came home alive I don't know that he was ever wounded anything's possible but I was just trying to be friendly and say hello to your son again I apologize if it was your I mean if it was a wrong name but being he's always in the picture I don't think it would be right if I didn't say a load of both of you because I'll be gone he's walking every step you are and that is hard work right now especially for a young man when you were by that waterfall that day and he kept marching and daddy wanted to turn around but he led the charge I was proud and I know Dad was proud God bless both of you I like to talk a lot and I talk to my phone that's like it's one big sentence I don't go on all that punctuation b******* so kind of put the periods where you think they belong with love from America I'll be watching some more thank you sir and you son and I think you mentioned a daughter one time was walking with you and your young little girl God bless all of you
