Jigging or Casting? Which is better with jigs?

Anglers can attack river walleye with two different approaches including vertical jigging and also casting. Often if the water is fairly deep, vertical jigging is the superior presentation. But, when walleye are found in shallow water or very clear water, presenting the boat a short ways from the fish and casting to them is often the best approach.
