Can't believe raves are still going on like this. I thought hardcore had died back in the early 2010's. When Gammer switched to hardstyle and Darren Styles stopped pushing hardcore tunes out. I used to go to slammin vinyl, uprising, future dance etc when I was 15 - 18 years old. I'm 38 now and still listening to this stuff. The younger generation don't know proper music anymore. If you're young and reading this, list to Cube:hard stuff and the Elation Records tracks. Absolutely banging. A Southern MC in Doncaster always went down well. I remember Sharkey, Casper and Drew Mcing up north and tearing it up!

Same tunes I used to rave to nearly 20 years ago, same DJ’s same MC’s…. One of the reason hardcore scene died… the ‘click’ not allowing new dj’s and mc’s in.
I stopped raving in 2004, fist rave was millennium nye, used to go to every sIammin vinyl, United dance and hardcore heaven. I just caught the decent hardcore still being dropped into sets.
90’s stuff was best.
The ‘click’ changed the style, the music style changed too quickly…. Been in tatters for years, I look at what they call hardcore on UA-cam now & see old men desperate to keep making the coin out of a dead scene. We said hardcore will never die. Well it did RIP Happy Hardcore

in my opinion, and many others ravers opinions, hardcore died in 1999 (undeniably the worst year for hardcore) when they stopped playing the legendary breakbeat hardcore and went down the trancecore/freeform route.

Unfortunately I think you are correct. It does seem that new talent had been shut out of the UK hardcore scene for unknown reasons, possibly the fact that new talent would bury the current top djs and producers of this genre as all their bothered about is playing and promoting their own music. I think we all know which ones I'm talking about. They are responsible for the hindering of this genre. Well done!
Monopoly is a cruel and shameful game and such a contradiction of what this music represents.
Such a shame too, I was huge fan of this genre for years all through the 90s upto around 2004, then it just got samey, samey, same and then lost all interest.

To be honest you were a bit late, was pretty cheesy after 1996. The really happy cheesy hardcore was everywhere, same chessy djs demand, sy, hixxy, topgroove. God all of them, ere was only mzone and mark eg playing decent. Noya used to just play classics.

Because the scene got cliquey and was heavily guarded and gate kept by a small group of DJs/Producers and promoters. Hardcore events had the same lineups for years every event would have the same names on the lineup so crowds got tired of the seeing the same DJs with no new talent coming through.
