  • 🌍 The universe is a vast terrain of infinite mystery and discovery, a place where our curiosity drives us to explore beyond the limits of our solar system. Exoplanets, those planets outside our solar system, capture the imagination of scientists and astronomy enthusiasts alike. Since the discovery of the first exoplanet in 1992, thousands more have been identified, each offering a unique glimpse of planetary diversity beyond our cosmic neighborhood. Our solar system, made up of fascinating planets such as Jupiter, Saturn, Mars and Earth, is just one small corner in the immensity of the universe. The gas giants, rocky planets and icy worlds of our solar system serve as a reference for understanding the characteristics and formations of exoplanets. Planets beyond our solar system vary considerably in size, composition and orbit, some orbiting stars similar to our Sun, others around red dwarfs or even binary stars. Studying these distant worlds helps us to better understand the formation of planetary systems, and to assess the possibility of life elsewhere in the universe. Exploring the depths of the universe, astronomers use advanced technologies such as space telescopes and ground-based observatories to detect and analyze these exoplanets. Each discovery brings us a step closer to answering the eternal question: are we alone in the universe? Exoplanets and space exploration offer fertile ground for hypotheses, theories and, potentially, groundbreaking discoveries that could redefine our understanding of life and our place in the cosmos.

    💥The Exoplanets:
Let's begin this journey with a visit to Isis, more aptly named HD 189773b.
The discovery of this exoplanet dates back to 1991.
The Hipparcos satellite measured its transit in front of its host star.
However, its discovery was only confirmed in 2005 by a team of European astronomers.
Located in the Little Fox constellation, just 63 light-years from Earth, this beautiful blue planet seems like the perfect vacation spot.
But think again! Behind its beautiful, peaceful-looking azure hue, believe me, you'd better not try to land there.
It's a hot Jupiter-type exoplanet, orbiting the orange dwarf star in just 2.2 days, and is therefore very close to it.
Because of its relatively small distance from our Earth, it is one of the few exoplanets to have revealed its radius, approximately 1.26 times that of Jupiter, and its mass, approximately 1.15 times that of Jupiter.
The clouds in its atmosphere, contrasting with its vivid blue, could tempt us to make a landing and take a closer look at the planet's surface.
The winds that sweep across this gas giant blow at supersonic speeds, reaching over 7,000 km/h, or more than 7 times the speed of sound.
Exposed to destructive temperatures of around 1,300°C, these silicon particles condense, transforming into innumerable sharp pieces of glass.
In short, this planet is far from the oasis it first appears.
Quite the contrary! A deluge of mist and ice covers its surface, carried along by the cataclysmic winds that swirl relentlessly around it.
Nevertheless, Isis made headlines in 2007 when a team of astrophysicists announced that they had detected the presence of water in its bubbling atmosphere.
This conclusion was based on the observation of the red spectrum of its light passing through the atmosphere during its transit in front of the host star, using data collected by the Spitzer and Hubble telescopes.
This news confirmed an idea established by theoretical planetologists, namely that gaseous exoplanets could be rich in water.
While not all researchers agreed with this assertion, another Isis study did indeed demonstrate that it had detected an absorption line characteristic of the water molecule.
This technique could, in future, enable scientists to detect the presence of this vital element on Earth-like exoplanets.

The thumbnail unpleasantly reminds me of images Bing's Image Creator has made for me, with those round holes of all sizes like in a sponge or a Swiss cheese. I do not believe that any exoplanet really looks like this.

Would you please be so kind to explain to me what the problem is with an AI Voice? Cause i can't think of a reason why this is a bad thing.
Thank you very much in advance for a reply.
      Best wishes
      Thomas

@@thomaskramer9963 don't you get it entirely made up from Ai. Like even a youtuber who don't know a shit about cosmos making these kind of video without any personal comments or opinion.
& Ai is based on fiction not on latest discovery. Ai doesn't claim this is truth

@@thomaskramer9963 generally i don't mind AI voices at all but this one in particular has a vocal lift at the end of every sentence that becomes unbearable once you notice it. Its a strange vocal inflection that makes every sentence sound like a question. I'm not anti AI or anything but this voice in particular makes it impossible to watch the vid any longer that 3min 😭. hope that helps.
