    Great stuff... thank you. I believe there is also a whole component of wrist involved. Regarding the take back, some/many start with a cocked wrist, whereas others (Zverev e.g.) start with a flat wrist.... quite simply a matter of what feels better.

    Same swing, but on your tuck, bend over a little more at the waist, then point your Left shoulder at the ball, and drive through with your right shoulder like an uppercut punch. Note how the ball will explode with even more speed. Bending over a little allows you to extend how far you drive the heel of your hitting hand by twisting your torso through the stroke.

    Placement of serves is the key to hold your serve games comfortably. I have problems holding my serves even though I can hit decent serves. Apart from the placement there should be some teeth in the serves. Maybe, you can show us ways to improve on that front?

    Hey Guys i play a descent level. But always struggle to hit the ball hard because i always gave so much topspin. I really want to hit the ball flatter and harder. Especially on the high balls. Any drills you can recommend?

      u can try jumping a bit, or do the swing with a pulling motion, for the drop volley you have to almost cushion the ball as if you would do when catching a raw egg - your grip must be relaxed too, for example, if you wanna hit a solid volley you hold it with a locked wrist at contact point and move your arm forward at an angle, if you wanna achieve the slice you hold it in a more softer manner with a more relaxed wrist at contact point

  • @frankvet1

    Oh.... by far the most power comes from the hips leading the arm. Have a student hold the tip of the racquet while you use your wrist or arm to pull them VS. simply turn your hips and feel the tremendous difference. The hip turn "pulls" the racquet through the shot. Watch Djoker and most everyone else on tour. Of course the shoulders are involved as well.. but if the forward sequence doesn't start from the ground up, hips and shoulders effectively "pulling" the racquet into the ball to the finish, you're leaving a ton of pace out of the forehand. Tony Nadal sayz, "hit it with your feet".... to give you some idea. Play well...

    2-HBH is well known to have this kind of problem since it has limited range of motion (compared to the forehand). I used to have this problem and eventually figured it out. Don't see you have done any videos on the footwork which i think we all can benefit/learn from. Thank you.

    • @SylvanTuck
      @SylvanTuck 4 роки тому

      Try letting your racquet drop a little deeper into the slot on the take back. The more the butt cap points upward the deeper your shot will be; also will have more top spin. Hold your racquet loosely. A lot of club players grip so tight that the butt cap and handle are level at contact. The more the butt cap and handle angle ... the more depth.

    Your forearm don’t rotate on the follow through, it looks very stiff and no snap. This is a common mistake that lower tier instructors give;They under analyze a swing, and making the player develop a incorrect swing.
    As a result, you can develop tennis elbow, and not getting enough torque on your swing.
    ua-cam.com/video/8jbyXVSwk7M/v-deo.html
    look at Novak, his forearm rotates on the follow through.
    Start with loosening your arms, wrist; during contact, there should be some rotation of the forearm, wrist, and palm; the swing should feel loose and very natural.

    When he hit the forehand his body is going back that is a mistake his body needs to go foreward every professional tennis player in the tennis when they hit the forehand theres body cames forward

    • @timevalueoftennis2866
      @timevalueoftennis2866  6 років тому +4

      Angel Borisov I’ll have to disagree and I’ll explain you why. My body is moving forward as I hit, and you can check that looking at the momentum once the motion finished. Also there are so many cases when it’s imposible to hit going forward, specially on deep and fast balls or balls on the run, so even the pros end up hitting moving backwards. Thanks for your comment!

  • @richieortiz5

    This video is relentless on my feed and I take a look at it and of course it just frustrates me. Dude is driving the ball with western grip taking them out of the air.
    I’m average in my area and I have no idea even how to go about hitting a ball like this guy is hitting. My forehand is garbage. Check my channel vids if you want to see mine and try and convince yourself this video was intended for anyone even remotely near my level. What demographic are you targeting with this vid?

    • @timevalueoftennis2866
      @timevalueoftennis2866  6 років тому

      After checking your channel, this video is actually a great video to improve your forehand. We use this drills with with different levels of players, from 2.5 to really high level players, with different purposes. All this drills are very easy to execute, you will find that out if you try them. It doesn't matter what kind of grip you have, practicing the proper drills you can drive the ball properly no matter your level, I have personally implemented this drills in so many 3.5 level players and they definitely work, so I would give them a try.
