When it comes to Tsujii's performance, it is not even his superb technics that blow us away, he plays and it is not about him at all but the sheer spirit of the beauty of the piece itself. He is so selfless as he plays for purity of the music and nothing else without an effort. And he brings the orchestra, the conductor and the audience to the level of such pure level as no other known pianists today can. Same piece, same kind of equally skill full orchestra with a Steinway piano but his sounds touch our souls from the deep within. When we hear Tsujii's performance, we hear his selfless notes but it is only HIM can deliver and bring such pure notes. Bravo!!
Oh, please take your time. I have seen the entire performance already, but I thank you for uploading it to UA-cam so that more people would get to see this excellent performance of Tsujii-san. Thank you!
At 3:42, it always just gets me and he does it again at 4:55. Someone said that his body movement is irritating but to me, it is something that gives us the window to feel how Nobuyuki feels the music.
Thank you for your comment. Sorry I haven't uploaded movement 3. I didn't have much time yesterday. I'm working on the upload now. Thank you for your patience.
Thank you for the upload. I am a long-time fan of Mr. Tsujii and had seen this on BBC's podcast, but it is good to have this available on UA-cam for all to see. Where is movement 3?? You must show the standing ovation from the Royal Albert Hall crowd!
@6:17 Violinist in the background ( on the right ) : Hmm ? /looks over at Nobu's hands/ Nobu : /plays the piano / @6:19 Violinist : / sees something and frowns / Nobu : / keeps playing / @6:20 Violinist : / sees a third hand shimmered in the illuminating light ( or something ) / Nobu : / is playing / @6:22 Violinist : !? !? Nobu : / plays with so much emotion / @6:27 Violinist : / looks over at Nobu / Is...is he ? @6:30 Violinist : / is doing a little shallow breathing / @6:31 Violinist : / looks away / No...I've been working too hard lately... @8:19 ~ Violinist : No...I don't see anything...I don't see anything... I don't know what it was he saw that made him frown a little and breath that way... was it a hand with a sleeve of some old clothing that pianists like Mozart and Chopin were wearing back in those days ? or... I don't know. Sorry. I got carried away. Just...wondering about that...is all. Btw, Nobu and BBC Philharmonic Orchestra are performing beautifully at this BBC Proms ! They're simply GREAT !
I heard this piano concerto--my dad bought it for my mother for one Christmas when I was six years old, and guess who played it more than my parents did, LOL!--anyway, that was LONG before I heard the popular adaptation of the second movement theme to "All By Myself." Thank goodness this movement still doesn't remind me of "All By Myself"!

This piece of music always makes me sad, remembering my beloved late father and my kind-hearted grandmother, both long gone. 😢 Such beautiful music 💗
Probably this performance can let us meet the people who we want to see.

His play made me feel much more close to piano concerto No.2.
Remind me wild scenery of early spring still snow is left.
When it comes to Rach No. 2, it just has to be Nobuyuki Tsujii for me anymore.
のぶさん素晴らしいことだと思いますありがとう ぜひぜひ生演奏を開場で聞きたいです。

Nobuyuki is great. Yes, there is "all by myself" :)
