And there is always the next freshman. Many of the kids will wind up nothing. No $. No education. No connections to a home base. It is sad what we allow to happen too people.
What's happening is simple, most of the portal work is being done where it SHOULD be done, mostly behind the scenes. I'm not sure why fans think it should be the #1 priority to pander to their anxiety by doing things out in the open when that is a lot less effective. Losing Desan hurts, that one stings.

As a Missouri fan I don't like it at all when it happens to any team and I think as fans we need to somehow push back and force the powers to be to do something. 90% of what's happening to all teams is coming from the players agents, they're doing this, they've got free reign, and they're making millions of dollars. It's destroying teams! You can't even develop players.

Yeah, the portal is hitting every team out there. Just go look at the list, and you'll see at least a dozen from every team out there. But as far as OU losing the WRs and QB...OU can have all the wide outs they want to, they can have a guaranteed first round draft pick of a quarterback, but it's not going to matter unless they can get a healthy, gelled offensive line. It does sting a little losing Walker and McCullough, though...even if they aren't world beaters, they were quality depth. If OU can maintain the defense, and I'm pretty sure they can, all they need is an average offense that can limit turnovers, take at least 30 minutes of possession, and put up 21-28 points a game, and that's all going to start with fixing the offensive line. And there are plenty of decent linemen in the portal we can look at.
