    I think losing a bunch of wide receivers that didn’t play anyways doesn’t hurt so bad and if we have to go down to 105 players we do not need a bunch of injury’s running around cuz it’ll hurt worse than this years did

    It's musical chairs for everyone every year. That's how it's done now. Coaches that can't handle it are dropping out quite often. One thing I noticed about BV is that he doesn't seem to freak out over it. He just works within this system. He may get it turned around if the offense comes around with the new OC and qb. It can turn on a dime in this portal system.

    This is happening to every program. Why is the portal such a stressful matter for OU fans? We want OU to revamp and get the players we need to be productive. Players get to leave on their own...OU does not own them! Also, OU gets to thank other players for their service and send them to the portal. It's not difficult to conceptualize. If this portal situation is so painful, maybe our players will be treated better moving forward 🤷🏾‍♀️ Much love to you Dasean❤ Wherever you go, enjoy the game! #Boomer

    I honestly expected as much. When you have to thin the herd by 20-30 guys, why would you keep guys who can’t even get on the field? No matter how talented and gifted an athlete is, if he can’t play, he’s just taking up space. I can’t imagine that they don’t have a plan to put healthy wide receivers on the field for next season. I honestly don’t care two cents for the bowl game. The season was trash and I would just as soon be done with it. On to next year for me.

Sometimes we forget that full ride scholarships are not cheap. Further leaning on some of our younger recruits may not be a bad idea, not saying we don't need some experienced players along side of that.

    College football is dead. No academic standards. It is NFL lite but no rules other than roster caps starting next season. What is sad is most of transfers from all schools will end up with nothing. No education, no money (NIL) is what most end up with. People are chasing a lottery ticket. It fails for 80% of transfers. Too stupid to get into college in 1st place for many. Someone takes a chance on you. You get unhappy then want to leave for reasons. Unless you are highly rated or your coach leaves who wants you? You are a quitter. And there is always the next freshman. Many of the kids will wind up nothing. No $. No education. No connections to a home base. It is sad what we allow to happen too people.

    As a Missouri fan I don't like it at all when it happens to any team and I think as fans we need to somehow push back and force the powers to be to do something. 90% of what's happening to all teams is coming from the players agents, they're doing this, they've got free reign, and they're making millions of dollars. It's destroying teams! You can't even develop players.

    Doesn't do any good to be in the WR room if you don't have a QB to pass the ball and last year hasn't given you faith in a cohesive offensive strategy
    Add to that being super suspect at O line, every receiver is likely out the door

  • @Suraht
    @Suraht 9 годин тому

    Yeah, the portal is hitting every team out there. Just go look at the list, and you'll see at least a dozen from every team out there. But as far as OU losing the WRs and QB...OU can have all the wide outs they want to, they can have a guaranteed first round draft pick of a quarterback, but it's not going to matter unless they can get a healthy, gelled offensive line. It does sting a little losing Walker and McCullough, though...even if they aren't world beaters, they were quality depth.
    If OU can maintain the defense, and I'm pretty sure they can, all they need is an average offense that can limit turnovers, take at least 30 minutes of possession, and put up 21-28 points a game, and that's all going to start with fixing the offensive line. And there are plenty of decent linemen in the portal we can look at.

      How many times did you hear his name called this year?! Dude was always hurt.

    Dasan who? Sorry guy didnt play all season (again another player hurt). OU should rethink its archaic "Workout" regimen. Our iron sharpens iron philosophy failed us. We only hurt ourselves. Farooq oft injured. JJ Hester only saw the field because of WR injuries period.

    Don't forget the past behind the receiver room. The problem stems from the receiver room being thinned out for Drake Stoops in 2023. Remember the OU Star Receiver and son of Legacy Program Bob. Drake was the star, wasn't he? NFL tryout. The last time a white guy was OU's top receiver was Tinker Owens in 1975. The receiver room has been in a state of flux since.

    The loss of Nic Anderson doesn’t sting? You podcasters are cowed by Venables and his staff. Not worth listening to!

    The journalist that covers OU? Be careful not to fall into the "access journalism" trap. Ask the Video Game's and Comic Book's journos what happens? Love your takes bud, that's why I'm here. But fans don't like the white knighting.

      5-7, 6-6 more or less every year. More than likely 5-7 run of the mill SEC team every year now. As long as Brent Venables is in charge
