Hi Dick The Ram Air IV 041 Camshaft was the first camshaft designed by Pontiac Engineers using a computer. It has been documented that the Ram Air IV engine with a good blueprint can develop 446 horsepower with no aftermarket equipment Muscle Car Enthusiast Magazine dated September 2005 shows Dan Jensen comparing a Ram Air III vs. the Ram Air IV that peaked at 446 HP at 5900 rpm on page 66 of the magazine. We've seen many racing events where the RAIV out performs the LS6 Chevelle and Hemi cars at the Pure Stock Drags and this is due to the engine developing close to 450 Horsepower. Milt Schornack with attention to detail ran a 1970 RAIV with headers and slicks at 11.87 sections in his book The Royal Bobcat GTOs. You can view my 1970 AToll Blue RAIV GTO also on UA-cam that runs mid 12s with closed exhaust and just special attention to the blueprinting and balancing of the engine with the stock RAIV exhaust manifolds and 4.33 gears. Thanks Roger Wydler
Pontiac had a real dream team back then with Bunkie Knudsen, Milt Schornack, Mac McKeller, John DeLorean, Jim Wangers. No wonder those engines were so well engineered. Kari Angeles (John's daughter) recently broke into the 9's with a NHRA legal Ram Air 400 Firebird. I've always been a fan of Pontiac. Love the idea of a 400 c.i.d. engine outgunning the big blocks.
Nicholas Wydler The 041 Ram air four cam is a very good cam. I used it on Ram air three motors & 455 motors with ram air three D port heads & it would run fast as hell .
I'm not sure that the Ram Air IV was as fast or faster then the Chevy LS6 450HP (under rated ) It was 500HP !! ... I had a 70 SS chevelle , slicks headers and 4:56 It ran best time 12.03 ( I still have the time slips ) If you do the numbers , to move 3700 lbs @ 500HP = 12.00 sec in the 1/4 mile
Great video, great car. The vent tube from the heater box to the tach was not intended to defrost. It prevented condensation from forming inside the tach fogging the lens and shorting it out. The "Pontaic plate" on the dash they refer to during the drive is where the center vent would be on an A/C car. The non A/C cars' dash bezel were molded with raised Pontiac letters on a flat plate the looked like a "delete" plate but was actually molded in.
Ahhh, found the story. Wonderful local GTO saved. My bother bought our GTO 1970 400cui matching numbers in 1979 and I bought from him in 1992. We only drive it in summer time here in Sweden. Gave it back to him 2007 as his 45th birthday present. So still in the famely.😊
I truly enjoyed your video. I bought, new in 1970, a 1970 GTO, RAIV with drum standard breaks, no air, am radio, no hood tach, but had the tach instrument panel, no spoiler, g70x14 tires on ralley Ii rims, black on black. I loved that car, sold it in 1980 for what I paid for it. I told the person if he was ever to sell it, let me know and I will buy it back. I regret selling it, but it was to pay for my wedding to my lovely bride. I eventually found the car in Illinois. That person bought it from the person I sold it to. Only if I would have known. He sent it out for a frame off restoration. I only wish he would be willing to part with it. Ironically, I still have the original Quadrajet carberator and the plastic tag. Thanks again for this video. You are truly fortuante.
My first introduction to Pontiac Ram Air 4's came courtesy of John Angeles back in 1981-82 and I have been a fan ever since. His Firebird ran like a scalded dog...FAST! Definitely one of the best engines of the musclecar era.
My 1970 Stock Ram Air III GTO Azure Blue Auto/323 Posi was a beast, even with Factory AC. Dual point, red-lined 6,000 RPM, Exhaust Cut outs and a set of M/H Race-Masters performed routine sub 14 ( 13:85 best ) second runs at New Jerseys ATCO Dragway. 1973-1974. Forgot, Adjusted the Stock lifters out until they stayed clacking, turned down to quiet and added one half turn with a set of Poly-Locks, ( 6,000 Red Line.)
Great video! Just to add a few bits, The combustion chambers are die cut, beautifully machined heads, the seats are narrowed and hardened, the -70 GTO front fenders have no bumper indents (different than Le mans) The Ram Air IV has forged pistons, double moly rings (moly on all GTO's) 4 bolt mains, aluminum intake. The front stabilizer bar was upgraded for 1970, with rear stabilizer, the shock rate was much stiffer.. handling improved for 1970. The body had almost no roll.
I'm a longtime Pontiac fan. I always prefered the look of the pontiacs. The 70 GTO has such a classic aggressive look. GM should bring Pontiac back but keep it as strictly a performance division. They would sell crap out of a modern ( properly designed) GTO and Trans Am... They would profit out of creating they're own competition. Great Video!
1970 was my favorite year for GTO's,because of that one-year- only Endura front end. Pontiac styling at its best! I had mine on Woodward often enough back in the day that we could have passed each other and not even known it. I would have had my foot in it,racing for a tank of gas or a case of beer.....I bought mine with tons of miles on it,and drove the wheels off it! Different upbringing, different socioeconomic circumstances. Still a car enthusiast, though.
What a stunning car. He has had it as long as ive been alive. It reminds me of my grandad, 1980s being baby sat watching Clint Eastwood movies. He past 4 years ago. in the UK, so we don't have a lot of muscle cars, by a lot I mean non. So to me they mean 80s Friday and Saturday nights, when mum and dad was out and nan was working. Wow this video has turned in to a session on the docs couch lol.
cool stuff, worth a mint now,i also have read about something called the :"super duty ram air",which were left over ram air v blocks with the R.A 4 internals&heads etc. anyone else hear of theses? probably not an option in the order form, but something put together for connected racers
I read somewhere that the NHRA considered a stock Ram Air IV to be a 420hp engine (in SAE Gross rating). Pontiac had rated the Ram Air IV to have a certain power-to-weight ratio, so more customers could afford the insurance on it.
My wifes Dad purchased this Car in 1970 from the showroom floor for $4500 out the door. It was a Judge but with the classic chrome bumper option. It was equipped with the HO 455 Hurst 4 speed on the floor. Boy, the stories she would tell of her and dad out on the Woodinville/Redmond valley road. For her 16th birthday in 1974 her dad gave her the car and said get a job, I'm not paying for fuel or insurance. I always thought this one single gift from dad made her the responsible person she is today. With the gas crunch in the 70's she ended up selling to buy a commuter toyota celica for that job. If only I had known her then. She said her boyfriend in high school would race the car at Golden Gardens and only lost one race. It was a tie.
MM, I loved this! Quite revealing. As you may remember, MM, I have a '67 GTO. A buddy of mine, Michael Santoro, worked at Chrysler in design when the Viper was being developed and probably knew Dick Winkles. Michael's designs were the final designs for the first Cirrus and Stratus's.
70 was always my fav yr, 72 was nice but lower compression. Had 5 at 1 time in various shape, Always wanted a RAIV/ RAV but made more power doing it at the machine shop I worked. Currently have a 05 w/ 485 to the wheels 12:00 @125 street tires , full exhaust & a 3.42
2005? GM don't own Holden, they have a majority voting stock, but not ownership stock, so that Holden with a Chevy engine is an import. Not one part of that car was made in the USA, even the PCM tune wasn't owned by GM, it was Holden's.
ramairgto72 just a fyi...GM Holden Ltd, generally known as Holden, is an Australian automobile manufacturer that operates in Australia and is headquartered in Port Melbourne, Victoria. The company was founded in 1856 as a saddlery manufacturer in South Australia. In 1908 it moved into the automotive field, before becoming a subsidiary of the United States-based General Motors (GM) in 1931. After becoming a subsidiary of GM, the company was named General Motors-Holden's Ltd, becoming Holden Ltd in 1998-the current name was adopted in 2005.
STARSHIPTROOP It's not owned by GM, if that was true GM would have Holden listed like Chevy or Buick. I know for 100% fact that GM has a minority stock ownership in Holden, but a Majority in voting stock. Holden wouldn't even have "Stock" if it was owned by GM, it would be GM stock. Look it up yourself.
I’ve got a 05 with a 402 stroker LSx she’s a screamer but my baby and the reason I got the 05 is my 1970 convertible 455 GTO fully loaded too she’s my girl same exact color as the video with blue interior
Love Pontiac's, wish I could get a Ram 5 or a 421 SD Catalina. Pontiac even had a RAM 5, 428 that never got built. GM new Pontiac was working on some fast cool cars back in the 60's I read, so they shut them down so they wouldn't still Chevy thunder. Pontiac and Plymouth where even designing a Engine.
I know this comment is 2 years old but I can't help myself the engine you are talking about was a aluminum 427 HEMI Pontiac and Chrysler didn't work together on this engine but Pontiac borrowed as they put it 2 Chrysler engineers that helped develop the 426 HEMI to help design the Pontiac HEMI as usual GM took the Pontiac technology and used it in other divisions Cadillac got the EFI and Cadillac also used the engine block design for their 4100 pos aluminum engine
I had a stock 70 GTO in 1979, with the 350 HP 400 CI, 400 Turbo trans, AC & all the power robbing options but still ran terrific! To this day my fav car ever and if I had a Ferrari I'd trade for it if I could get a car like it. Oh and I didn't get my gf preggers in it but we used the back seat often, actually she cost me the car in a way.
In 1970 Im very surprised this Goat came with drum breaks. I have always known GTO's to have front disc as mandatory especially a Ram-Air IV and a 12 bolt. Even a bare bones car.
Something I noticed quick about hood tachs, People always asked if it actually worked, then you gotta explain how it's just a tach that's on the hood. It was a huge point of confusion and fascination to people for whatever reason lol.
My dad had a 1960 Bonneville 389 4 speed automatic 411 rear gears . He also had a 1970 Catalina 400 4 barrel he loved the 4 barrel it would set you back in the seat. Later on I was Iucky enough to own a 1971 and 1972 lemans with the enduro front ends both 400 c.I cars very fast . They registered 140 and would bury the hand with lots of pedal left .
For all of the folks that sold there PONTIAC we thank you still have mine 1969 RAM air 3 m 22 rock crusher 12 bolt out of a 70 442, black and orange still have it to this day . I worked at Cherry Creek Dodge for ten years and the blue with white striped GTS is an outstanding ride the way the exaust from the side pipes filled your ears sounded like a jet inside at full song what a car, bad ass But it's no GTO .
To say this engine was engineered with forged internals,a cam with specs that can't be surpassed anywhere in the musclecar spec sheets, dual valve springs with harmonic dampers,anti-pumpup lifters, high volume intake and exhaust ports, should only be revved to RAIII single spring D-port levels (friend shifted his '67 at 6200 at the strip)is cutting this engine short.Personal racing experimentation on my B/S RA IV(only balanced and blueprinted by King Speed Shop in 1973)revealed that the closer I got to 7000rpm,the harder it pulled.I revved this engine to 7500rpm to see if the lifters would give out, which they didn't.As a result i set my shift point at 7200.Couldn't get a reasonable B/S body for it so I dropped it in a '64 LeMans. With a Chevelle 12 bolt and 3.90 gears it ran 11.7s/120ist all day.Used a built M40,never broke anything in three yrs.Because of combination I had to run ET brackets tho. This engine truly was a BBC(factory stock)killer.Give it some legs,Dick.Heck on my 325 horse '64 GTO where the valves would float at 6300rpm,I shifted at 6000.This RA IV has vastly greater performance capability than any of the old D-ports including 421SD.That"s a nice inventory you have there ,wish I could have saved all of mine.
You know Dick is passionate about Pontiacs, when he lives in Pontiac, MI , 5~6 miles away from where they were built & drives a Pontiac. I always hated GM's decision to shutdown Pontiac (& Hummer), I completely understand the logic behind & sometimes I think its for the best (Hummer had lots of potentials though) especially with what Pontiac built over the past 15 years … (insert cliché Batman Hero\Villain quote here) Love the upgrades he did to the GTO…. Subtle yet neat touches. I completely agree, Everyone gets the Chevelle …. So a Buick\Olds\Pontiac stands out in a sea of Chevelles. Good thing he didn't do an engine swap on that beast… As you always say: it's not just the car, it's the story behind it (paraphrasing of course). And as Dick showed here with the GTO
+IceDree Because you admitted you wanted a Lumina SS, I will share SOME details . . . It's white but he REALLY wanted the satin black hood however it wasn't being produced when his car was produced. So when he retired, instead of getting a watch, the folks at Chrysler got him the black hood . . .
Gorgeous car. Love all the power robber deletes. The mentioning of the original having a 10 bolt, and up-graded to the 12 bolt. I was under the impression, 70 was the only year Pontiac put a 12 bolt in the GTO, "standard", not optional. 'specially if it was a RAIV. Or am I thinking about the 70 T/A? Anyway, sweet ride, wish you showed more of the engine.
That is one rare GTO,wish I still had my '64 in the garage. The engine is the option that makes the car so special, and that is a beautiful blue.Should have that thing chassis dynoed,as I think your HP numbers are weak. The number you stated should be more like the RWH.My RA IV 12.2 ET was .3 quicker than my friends '66 427/425 Biscayne, and same 4.88 gearing, him with 10.5 Goodyears and me with 9.0 cheaters.I'd say these engines are way over 425HP crank.I did have an 800CFM Holley 4165 tho,but he had a 950 and headers, so we'll call it even.
GM midsize (GTO, Chevelle, GS), Chrysler/Mopar B Body (Charger & Roadrunner), and Ford Torino are my dream car to collect, also the smaller (pony car) like mustang, camaro/firebird, cuda/challenger are nice too for my taste
Gorgeuos car and colour. My friend had a 1970 Chevelle 454, I had a 1970 GTO 400. Beat the LS5, everybody commented on how the GTO rode better. Not sure for the reason except maybe better sway bars and the extra weight on the front end made the GTO steer better? Not sure.
really nice car. not a fan of the rear end with the lights in the bumper. more of a '59 guy. MotoMan definitely do more videos like this. Loved it, you know so many awesome people
Hi Dick love the car since it was my dads, not my Uncle Steves. Uncle Steve had the Chevelle SS 454 . Uncle Wanye and my dad had the GTO's. ( Uncle Wayne still has his) my dad sold his to buy a house for me and my brother. We still wish he kept it.....if you would like to hear the original stories of this whole car my dad would love to tell you about it. Let me know.
+Rian Ladd Hey Rian - Can you contact us directly via the e-mail address on our 'About' page (ua-cam.com/users/MotoManTVabout) and we will put you in contact with Dick.
Aside from some really stupid comments about Chrysler products, this was a great video...that GTO is a stunner. By the way, no such thing as a 440 Roadrunner...unless you're talking about 440+6 which was a special and rare car.
my buddy has a 69 gto jude ram air 4 pumpkin orange with all available options including tilt steering, also has original window sticker,he bought it back in 1990 at a swap meet for $2000,took him awhile to fully restore it.he got offered $120,000,he turned it down,i have pics of it on my smartphone
I owned one of these RA IV engines and they had a completely forged crank, rods, and pistons with four bolt mains.Today this stock engine with racing gas could handle 10 pounds of boost, even with its 10.5 compression.Unless you've wrenched on one of these you will not have a full understanding of how special these engines were.Down to the lifters, valves, valve springs, pushrods, and factory polylocks I've not seen on any other factory engines.
Helps more then not. Even more moronic is that if you replace your belts with, say I modern 3 point, it's unlawful. They could write you a ticket for using a 2016 Camaro seat belt over crusty 1970 GM pieces.
not to be picky but the 15" ralley II were available in 70 just not on a GTO, also the Pontiac Dash cover was only on non air cars, because it was replaced with a vent and one last thing could you get a wing without ordering a Judge ????

MotoManTV - How do I get in touch with the owner of the GTO? We are organizing a prestigious Muscle Car display during next years Grand National Roadster Show in Pomona, California, and I want to extend an invite to have this beautiful car in the display. Last weekend of January, 2018. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.
9:21 It would have been the a factory AC vent. I know that without seeing it. Come on man, I love it you are a "PMD Kinda Guy", but ... graduate into the "PMD Guy" area and know your stuff lol.
Its funny how everyone goes bananas over the RA IV. Only about 15-20 more hp than the RA III, but people act like the RA IV will do wheelstands all the way down the track!
It's not funny, not funny at all. Today people jockey over LS Cathedral, Rectangle and Raised Rectangle ports, it's not any different. You must understand, 1960's and 70's were not 2010's where you can get Joe Blow to email your local Speed Shop with a new trick CNC program for your LS heads. RAM AIR III, IV and V were the LS1, LS3 and LS7 of it's day.
Thanks young man, but you're not telling me anything new. The RA III is the most common, the RA IV is highly coveted, and the RA V is rarely talked about. Its just humorous the way people "freak" over the RA IV; they act like it's a million-dollar wheel stander, that needed nothing to do 9 seconds right out of the wrapper.
nowitsabadtime Young man? What metric have you decided my age on? Nothing you have said so far has merit, I clearly showed the parallels of power using LS heads as an example. Your opinions don't match reality, anyone would "Freak" about bolting on 15 extra HP, even more so in the times of rare speed parts for PMD. It's quite clear your entire argument is based on an assumed majority "spas" attacks over RAM AIR III & IV heads. If i'm wrong please make your case clearer to this "young man"...
GM dictated that no car other than a Corvette could have more than 1 hp per 10 lbs. To get around this, regardless of actual horsepower, Pontiac fudges the numbers. Even with the same engine a 3500 lb Firebird would be rated at 350 hp and a 3700 lb GTO would be 370 hp (not correct numbers, just examples) . All were under rated. And as hp increased increased the hp ratings stayed static as not to violate GM's 1 hp per 10 lb rule.
Damn, I just love Pontiac body lines. Doing a full on custom job for a 74' Ventura that'll get the same kind of blue on chrome treatment. It's secretly a Chrysler in disguise (shhhh diehards be damned) and making the best of both worlds for a beefy powerplant underneath Pontiac beauty.
Aside from the engines (which speak for themselves), I am constantly amazed at how ALL muscle cars from this era (from all manufacturers) had this timeless, classic body styling that still looks far better than anything else on the road today. Great Design! Way ahead of its time . Timeless style inside and out. That wing was std on the Judge but also an option for GTO.
Back in the late sixties and early seventies, Pontiac designers hit several home runs. This GTO is super sexy!

My dad had a '70 RA IV Trans Am with a lot of RA V parts and a '68 1/2 RA II Firebird. Damn I miss all three of them.
That's sad:(
what ram air v parts did your father have in his trans am?
Robbie R Heads, cam and intake.manifold. The exhaust was aftermarket. The bottom end was all RA IV.

The RAM AIR III is a great engine. The RAM AIR III heads are often overlooked.
ramairgto72 yes they are. ive got a pair on dibs right now with hardened valve seats
An original the Judge?! If so, awesome car!

Great video and gorgeous car, the Pontiac plate on the dash was for the vent if air conditioning had been installed I have a 70 lemans sport
Nicest 70' GTO I think I've ever seen! Owned a white 70' w/ TH400 running 3.90 gears. The biggest mistake of my life was letting it go.
Love the GTO
1971 in blue is in my dream garage
+Dee Jay I have a gold '67 GTO (to be restored) if you're looking for one! Great project car.
Great story love ones like that. Makes me miss my Pontiac's .
Beautiful!!! If my dad knew how to use the Internet he'd be drooling lol
Great history, beautiful car.
please do more of this for me...so much history....this is so amazing!!!
Your garage is filled with incredible cars but this one is clearly the stand out
70 was always my fav yr, 72 was nice but lower compression.
GM owned since 1931
STARSHIPTROOP
It's not owned by GM, if that was true GM would have Holden listed like Chevy or Buick.
Omg Omg Omg you are amazing!!! Thanks for this MotoMan, just made my whole month! :) (Owner of 2006 GTO)
I bought a 70 judge in 1978 for $500 .still have it.
That is absolutely beautiful
Ram Air V was also a 400 cu in engine, not a 428. They only made a couple hundred RA V. Good luck finding one.
I love it,the color, the stance
Man I miss my 70 1/2 Ram Air III 400 4 speed 3.73 geared Trans Am worst thing I ever did was letting it go!
Even a bare bones car.
what an awesome car and an awesome story
I always hated GM's decision to shutdown Pontiac (& Hummer), I completely understand the logic behind & sometimes I think its for the best (Hummer had lots of potentials though) especially with what Pontiac built over the past 15 years … (insert cliché Batman Hero\Villain quote here)
Love the upgrades he did to the GTO…. Subtle yet neat touches.
I completely agree, Everyone gets the Chevelle …. So a Buick\Olds\Pontiac stands out in a sea of Chevelles.
Good thing he didn't do an engine swap on that beast…
As you always say: it's not just the car, it's the story behind it (paraphrasing of course). And as Dick showed here with the GTO
+IceDree Because you admitted you wanted a Lumina SS, I will share SOME details . . .
It's white but he REALLY wanted the satin black hood however it wasn't being produced when his car was produced. So when he retired, instead of getting a watch, the folks at Chrysler got him the black hood . . .
Makes a cool retirement gift.
Hope the car had some unique touches like his Viper instead of a just standard Hellcat.
Thanks for sharing M . . . :)
He ain't passionate about footwear though
I understand why they discontinued Pontiac & Oldsmobile also..sort of.. but Buick ?
+Tjfreak Buick haven't been discontinued
I owned a '69 Ram Air IV Firebird, wish I had it now!
Pretty bad ass!
GM midsize (GTO, Chevelle, GS), Chrysler/Mopar B Body (Charger & Roadrunner), and Ford Torino are my dream car to collect, also the smaller (pony car) like mustang, camaro/firebird, cuda/challenger are nice too for my taste
I had one back in the 70's in Dark Green
Gorgeuos car and colour. My friend had a 1970 Chevelle 454, I had a 1970 GTO 400. Beat the LS5, everybody commented on how the GTO rode better. Not sure for the reason except maybe better sway bars and the extra weight on the front end made the GTO steer better? Not sure.
I love your GTO.
really nice car. not a fan of the rear end with the lights in the bumper. more of a '59 guy. MotoMan definitely do more videos like this. Loved it, you know so many awesome people
My first car was a 70 Lemans sport in 80, 350/350 TRANS, shift-kit. I had the best times in that car $600...130 MPH speedo that i buried😎
+Richard Winkles I sent you a message to your "moto man tv" account. Let me know if you got it.
+Rian Ladd Hey Rian - Can you contact us directly via the e-mail address on our 'About' page (ua-cam.com/users/MotoManTVabout) and we will put you in contact with Dick.
I wish there was a class for my Le Mans called the "I bought it like that" class
Aside from some really stupid comments about Chrysler products, this was a great video...that GTO is a stunner.
By the way, no such thing as a 440 Roadrunner...unless you're talking about 440+6 which was a special and rare car.
I’m buying one to restore next mont I can’t wait to get mine on the road 😩
That’s is a beautiful car.
Any idea where this car was originally sold? I'm trying to track down my dad's GTO. He bought it new at Aultman Motor Company in Albany GA
my buddy has a 69 gto jude ram air 4 pumpkin orange with all available options including tilt steering, also has original window sticker,he bought it back in 1990 at a swap meet for $2000,took him awhile to fully restore it.he got offered $120,000,he turned it down,i have pics of it on my smartphone
You were wise not to sell that car and fix it up because it is a beauty!
What do you think top end speed is with that 1970 g t o you have their .let me know if you know what it is . Great looking car you have their .
With the slight mods on this car, he will need forged rods with this. Most Pontiac v8s had cast rods with them.
Perfect 👍
Beautiful car man and I am not surprised the women got pregnant in it
that center space is for the air it had those silver narrow about 4" vents
The Pontiac script in the center is where your air condition vent would gone if you got air.
beautiful
Any chance to do a '70 Charger R/T? Gonna love it!
Put your seatbelts on! We need more videos like this one and others!
+Nik Brudar They have lap belts on
Alex Stern that does not help!
+Nik Brudar ok officer
Helps more then not.
Even more moronic is that if you replace your belts with, say I modern 3 point, it's unlawful.
They could write you a ticket for using a 2016 Camaro seat belt over crusty 1970 GM pieces.
That's because politicians are morons when it comes to cars, they write laws with zero knowledge of the subject matter.
Dream car right here. And i'm not really into American cars.
Everyone is, can't lie. Nothing is like owning or seeing a classic
HaHa! He looks so nervous during the test drive!!! I wold be too.
It's a big car
@@CaptainFALKEN not big.intermediate.
What size wheels and tires? Thanks. Terrific car!!
not to be picky but the 15" ralley II were available in 70 just not on a GTO, also the Pontiac Dash cover was only on non air cars, because it was replaced with a vent and one last thing could you get a wing without ordering a Judge ????

That Pontiac on the dash was for another vent on the factory Frigid air AC
MotoManTV - How do I get in touch with the owner of the GTO? We are organizing a prestigious Muscle Car display during next years Grand National Roadster Show in Pomona, California, and I want to extend an invite to have this beautiful car in the display. Last weekend of January, 2018. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.
so you cut on, a pair of 614 cyl heads??
I just saw a red ram air 4 yesterday
My brother had a red1 , I remember that tach on the hood , I think it was a 1970 or 1971 , I know it had a 455 in it
12.89 at 109mph hollllyyy fucking wooow!!! woooowwww
Woow nice car
The exhaust ports on these motors flowed almost as much as the intakes, so that's a misnomer.
9:21 It would have been the a factory AC vent.
I know that without seeing it.
Come on man, I love it you are a "PMD Kinda Guy", but ... graduate into the "PMD Guy" area and know your stuff lol.
fortunate. Addition, it had the close ratio 4 speed
Can you do a 69 front end conversion on a 1970 GTO
THE OLD "PONTIAC SHOP MANUALS SAY THE 70 GTO RA 400 CI HAD 400 HP@ STOCK FROM THE FACTORY ! NICE..
He looks like the car review guy (Matt Maran) but older!😁😁🤷♂️🤷♂️
Its just humorous the way people "freak" over the RA IV; they act like it's a million-dollar wheel stander, that needed nothing to do 9 seconds right out of the wrapper.
nowitsabadtime
Young man? What metric have you decided my age on?
Nothing you have said so far has merit, I clearly showed the parallels of power using LS heads as an example.
Your opinions don't match reality, anyone would "Freak" about bolting on 15 extra HP, even more so in the times of rare speed parts for PMD.
It's quite clear your entire argument is based on an assumed majority "spas" attacks over RAM AIR III & IV heads.
If i'm wrong please make your case clearer to this "young man"...
ramairgto72 LS heads copied the Pontiac RA heads. prior to '91, nothing chevy related had small chambers.
nowitsabadtime true to that, anything with 72 or smaller combustion chamber wasa power adder. regardless of RA II,III,IV etc
Sweet fuckin' ride!
Too bad we couldn't hear the motor.
Amen to that :-(
GM dictated that no car other than a Corvette could have more than 1 hp per 10 lbs.
Wow! Really?? 36 or 3700lbs???? I'm surprised! 400+hp, 450 torque.. I bet it flies!
Nothing like makin bacon in a '70 Goat !😁
🔥🐐🔥
Beautiful "history car".
One regret I have is selling my 70 got from high school.
Sometime they comeback as the name of the move.....
Am I the only one who wanted to hear the rest of the story about the car pulling out????
