I agree. She’s a terrible ruler. I just can’t believe that she’s supposed to be the one looking over Inazuma and she is ruining it by trying to protect herself and position. It’s crazy.
Oh man, I didn't remember how sad this part was 😢 If I'm not mistaken, this is the first time we deep dive in what visions are and what they mean to their carriers, so sad
I talked about this earlier, but this is where we finally get into visions, what they really are, how they work, and what they mean to the people that possess them. It's such a fundamental part of Genshin's setting, and witnessing things play out this way also does a great job of setting up the shogunate as our enemies and givin us a reason to really get invested in the affairs of Inazuma. 18:30 tbf, she is a god. So thinking she can do whatever she wants...is kinda right. Not that it makes her any better of course. She is absolutely a tyrant, and her actions are directly causing a civil war within her own nation. The worst part is how she doesn't even really seem to care at all. But at the same time, the majority of Inazuma also...don't really care. It is brought up a bit later, but even after all of this, most Inazumans really just carry on maintaining their faith in her without caring about the vision hunt or sakoku decrees because it doesn't actually affect most of them. It isn't just a case of a tyrant. She's their god. She's ruled for over 2000 years, and all of Inazuman civilization, save Watatsumi, is built by her and around her, as is evidenced by the sheer influence of the Narukami Shrine. These cultural circumstances also make them very different from what happened with Decarabian. It just takes *a lot* ofr people to rise up in a situation like that. It's just telling that most of Inazuma's resistance is made up of people that worship another deity entirely. Of course, none of that is to defend the Raiden Shogun at all. What she's done is still absolutely deplorable, I said this on the last video too, but you really just need to look at all of the other islands outside of Narukami that are supposed to also make up Inazuma to get a sense for how poorly she treats the nation as a whole. But I just thought I'd shine a bit of light on the situation on Inazuma and why things are still the way they are.
IN MAIN STORY YES, but also they talked about it in mond and tons of side quests and lore in items since 1.0 and event the manga which's released before the game :)
@@glory_m99 i mean, not really. Like yes it’s brought up several times, but they never go into it. Especially not the way they do here. The manga doesn’t really touch on them at all. The focus is more on delusions and even that hardly goes into what delusions actually are either.
I'm so glad you like Thoma. He became part of my top 5 characters when I came to Inazuma. I love him so much 🥰 Wriothesley took his spot though but he's still one of my favorites 😅 Ngl, I like Raiden Shogun... but she's my least favorite archon because of the vision hunt decree. I do love Thoma haha he’s just so cool and super chill. Definitely on of my favorites too 🤩 I’m excited to meet Wriothesley and see what he is all about. Yeah she is terrible. I can’t believe what she is doing to Inazuma. It’s so so sad. I can’t wait to be able to stop her 😤😤
Inazuma's story shine more with including the Nation's residents in the main plot, unlike Mondstadt and Liyue where they are simply random npc until you finish the archon quests of the current Nation. That's one of the reason why I think Inazuma is different and made it more interesting. Not only that, so far the Archon of Inazuma seems to affect her people's lives and she's been the main focus from what we saw for now, that might have appeared in Liyue's but Rex Lapis's death was more of a single act with no clear consequence on the people.
Exactly!!!! I feel like I’ve met more of the people of Inazuma than I have in both Liyue and Mondstadt lol. It’s good though because I feel for them and want to stop the Raiden Shogun from doing so much damage to everyone. I’m invested in Inazuma for sure.
I cannot deny that Raiden Shogun actually "hurts" her own people here.. I can't wait to see the continuation of you doing Inazuma's archon quest.. enjoy the game and stay healthy cute bard ❤

@@K1ngBard I will stay healthy 😊. Oh and as a suggestion, please level up your character level as well as their talents, artifacts, and weapons. And in the team composition, I think you should remove Thoma and replace him with a dendro character instead, for example Collei (if you have Collei). Strong characters and good teamcomp will help you go through Inazuma because some of the opponents are stronger and more annoying than those in Mondstadt and Liyue
Looking back, Tejima seems to be an Electro vision wielder, and that it's very likely he got his vision during his wait for his special someone. Electro people are usually outliers, odd ones out (Fun fact: This year's Windblume event kinda makes it make even more sense why Cyno fits the bill even when his ideals could easily make him a Hydro vision wielder. I think when you want to, or maybe when you've caught up to current content, you should watch playthroughs of the past events so you don't miss out on character interactions, important lore and character development, especially for characters like Albedo and Xiao).
After Inazuma, it's better and the perfect time to read the manga (as a video, I hope) you will learn more about mond characters - visions and will prepare you to Sumeru's characters' background :)
it takes like 2 hours max reading the whole thing so it isn't that bad. It gives more info on Mondstadt and it sets up some Sumeru characters. Which makes it perfect before sumeru@@K1ngBard
Yeah, regardless of how one ends up feeling about the Raiden Shogun's motives, there's no denying that the Sakuko Decree and Vision Hunt Decree are causing more harm to Inazuma than good. Even the air feels stagnant and suffocating. And that's before taking into account all the other problems plaguing the nation.
Fun fact, while the effects of a stolen vision are showcased here, there are multiple characters who have been separated from their visions willingly, and haven’t shown many of the symptoms displayed here. Diluc for example did not lose his motivation for vigilante activities and Keqing maintained her drive and ambition despite repeatedly attempting to dispose of hers. There are also future examples that show minimal changes despite separation, so it’s possible that the negative side effects are tied to forcibly losing their vision and not willingly parting with it.
It is also equally possible that in those cases, their symptoms were different and the absence of their vision did impact them, just not in the conventional ways we see here. We also don’t know exactly how long one can be separated from their vision before suffering these effects
It's not that different from a phylactery, just less encompassing - and it even serves a similar purpose. There's nothing preventing a human from directly channeling elemental energy except that you can't physically handle enough of a concentration to really do anything noticeable without permanent damage - at least without more practice time than a human lifespan permits. While there are drawbacks to effectively replace a spiritual "organ" with something more purpose-built for the job, it has obvious benefits. Again, I find it interesting that Thoma was being so careful about stating exactly what he knew and what he supposed, because it cuts straight to a question too basic for people to be likely to ask at this point.
